I had a thought while posting in another thread.  I'm putting it here because the search function isn't cooperating.  Could the hiding place of the horn be compromised because Verin knew.

I think it's location is safe because Verin knew. She was a BA but only so she could stufy and destroy them from within. I am sure she left the horn somewhere safe.

Don't. It's sometimes nice to realize you've been interested in those characters' lives since you were 14, but it's not worth the anguish of waiting 2 years for every new installment.

But really, are there any GRRM fans here? Can you honestly say that you're still as interested in his story as you were 4 years ago? Me, I got tired of waiting. My life moved on. I might revisit the story when more becomes available, but will it still speak to me the way it used to? I don't know.

I was 14 when I started reading WOT, that was about a month before The Great Hunt was published.  So I started out with a small wait and those waiting times just kept getting bigger and bigger.  Its odd to believe that WOT and its characters have been in my mind the greater part of my life now.

I've had GRRM's first books for a year or so and am loathe to start reading it.  Not because I have reservations about the quality, quite the opposite.  I am assumming that I will enjoy it due to reviews it has been given by those who have similar tastes to mine.  I'm just dreading getting into it and then having to wait 5+ years between the release dates.

though it kinda fills me with sadness that a series that has been with me for so much of my life is comming to an end i picked up EotW when I was 10 now im 25. It was one of the few series I could pick up any time and wisk myself away from the situation that I had found myself in.

gah now I realy do need to create the darn holideck from startrek so we can all live in Randland.  ;)

As appealing as living in Randland is, I'm not sure I'm up to the inevitable public nudity and beatings discipline I would get as a girl.

Wait.. what?  What nation is this, and how do I get a visa?

Indeed! This strange land of female nudity and "discipline" seems very appealing... ;)

What?  Live with a bunch of women who spend days/weeks/months at a time with no bra or support when away from the land?  Those things would be wrinkled salted leathered footballs.

The Seafolk, Aes Sedai and Aiel all have customs including random nudity and physical (sometimes overly) discipline. I guess its not so common with the common folk, and that's probably all I would be so it could be fun...though there is the chance of rape, but I guess we have that in this world too.

I have a feeling that the last 13% is going to go faster than the last few %.

Probably. Brandon said himself that the percentage bar is pretty arbitrary right now since he's doing heavy editing.

As an aside, he put this up on his Facebook page Saturday via Twitter:

"Yes, Wheel of TIme Fans, I am indeed up a 4am working on your book. This section I'm editing now turned out really well."

It's quite endearing to know that he (a) references WOT as our book in his shorthand -- although surely the fan reception of TGS cemented his position as the rightful heir to the tale, and (b) that he's up at 4 a.m. working on it (actually the time of that post was at 5:34 a.m. and I'm in his time zone...I think...I can't remember if Utah follows Daylight Savings Time or not)

Yay for Brandon Sanderson

He is doing a great job! and staying up till 4am to revise a chapter, that is amazing work ethics and great dedication and committment to see ToM by October.
