I've been thinking about other ways to ISO..

 

It might be hard to 'police'

 

But, what about using Game Title + Player Name Tags?

 

Is there a way to integrate a search with AND function for that?

 

Or, if every player signs their posts with:

 

(Game Title) + (Name) as per the player list, and searches in content, that should work... right?

That is something that would work, DM let's you do a search by author & tag.

With the caveat, it still does this after page 3.

If I put the title in the search bar, in the topic ->

Note, I only return 474 results -> There should be 2.8k.

If I then click an author ->

This actually narrows it down to 31 posts from that user.

But obviously... the search is failing to return all the results for some reason.

During onboarding, and anytime new or old users go on Discord, they can now select this role without having to bug me to add it to you directly to access the Mafia Discord channel on DM's discord.

Honestly, I don't think we need to lock that discord channel down too tightly; The general premise is that they can just self-select that role during on-boarding, or if they've already joined the server, they can just click that Channel & Roles thing, and self-select that role to add it.

 

If some rando pops sees that role in Discord, and they go to the Mafia Channel, Y'all can feel free to pounce and try to convert them play Mafia on the Forums. If they have no interest, well they can feel free to go back up to that area and self-remove themselves from that role to revoke their access to the Mafia Channel.

Discord is where the cool kids hang out.

 

Also, who knows, maybe in the future we can run a faster game of Mafia in an hour or something via Discord, either via a new sub-mafia, forum style. Or using an Audio Channel.

I think I figured something out!

 

Go here

Click New Stream

Set it up like this and click save.

You'll be brought to a screen like this.

Now if you ever want to get back to those searches, you just go to your activity stream, and click the one you want to see!

This may well be the closest you're going to get to an ISO feature. I wish I could get that stupid thing to go to a specific topic in the forum, but I haven't seen a way to pick one!
