We can actually do a live version via DM's discord.

 

And it's also possible if these forums ever go poof, and the Discord stays up, there's ways to accomplish a forum style Mafia on Discord.

@Clovdyx - Remember when we used to videochat and play snakes and other games with Cory and Hally, you, me, and a few others?  Those times were definitely chaotic but so fun :).

Discord can do voip (voice over IP aka calls), or video. 

 

But yes, it's entirely plausible for a live game to take place. 

 

If you're doing a short 1 hour game, you'd have to do something closer to the party version.

 

If people wanted to something closer to the forum version, they'd have to find a day of the week to meet at a specified time to do their "Day" session, and before that "Day" ends, cast their vote. The time between would be the "night actions". (Mafia would have to be careful about communicating during live chat, else their pings might get picked up over audio calls. Lol)

 

The Host would still act as the game Mod, and it would be possible to use something as simple as player names, and Emojis next to them to cast votes.
