What do you do all day?

So what does everyone do for a living around here? What kind of jobs do we have? And if you haven't gotten to the "career" stage of your life yet, what would you like to do?

As anyone who talks to me for longer than five minutes knows, I'm a teacher. I teach a class called "Humanities", which is language arts and social studies combined. We basically read and write about social studies for two hours every day. My two classes are World Studies A (sixth grade) and World Studies B (seventh grade).

I'm trained as an MS science and social studies teacher, which makes language arts a bit of a stretch for me. But as long as no one expects too much of me this year, I'll be fine.

What do you do?

Well, I work in a bookies - that's a betting shop or basically a place where people go to gamble on horses dogs and any other sport that comes to mind.

It's not my career choice, i studied a degree in Zoology, but i haven't found my niche yet.

I am currently a second year student, who is studying Classics. As I only have 8 hours of lectures a week, I have far too much spare time (in between rugby training and matches, and cricket training). As a result, I am online most of the time, either on DM or the Band's offboard site, or playing stupid addicting online games at www.addictinggames.com.

As for career prospects, one plan did include teaching, though I am less inclined to go down this route. The plan is to have a high paid job in the City (London) or do something like insurance.

Well, I'm still in highschool, but I'm pretty interested in being a speech pathologist. I'd like to work mostly with kids.

I babysit a bit, though not much. My neighbors have three little boys. They're ages one through...six, now, I think. I watch them a lot. They're absolutely adorable. :D But besides that, I don't do much. I will get a job over the summer, though. Of course, I haven't a clue where.

I work three days a week at Midway Appliances as a clerical assistant since I'm a poor college student lol and they work around my school schedule. I have two more quarters to get my BA in teaching. Then one year in the credential program. Then I can finally be a 2nd grade school teacher :D

For those that don't know...

I'm a teacher. I teach elementary school, so I teach everything. I teach at an interesting school with a lot of techological advances like a computer lab with "to-drool-at" computers, smart boards in every classroom (3rd through 5th right now and the Kindergarten through 2nd boards will be installed in the next month or so), and a laptop library that we check out once a week to supplement our in lab time. I presently teach 4th grade, though they've been hinting at giving me the Technology position next year. I'm terribly interested in teaching kids about computers all day!!!

I'm a full-time student. I currently attend a community college but will be transferring to a university in the fall to pursue a career in clinical psychology. The goal is to get a Ph.D. and work with underprivileged youth. In the mean time I shelve books at my local library...not very interesting or glamorous, but it pays well!

I'm in my final year of school and am studying in History, English Literature, Religious Studies(Philosophy and Ethics), General Studies and am taking an extra class in Critical Thinking.

I've just finished applying to study History at Uni and this time next year I will be living in Lancaster, Leicester, Bath, London or Swansea. (I can't wait) When I've finished my degree I would like to go into museum/heritage work or archiving. My dream job would be running a Castle :D

I work as a Quality Assurance Technician for Tyson Foods. Its a miserable job, and I can't wait to get back in college. I'm trying to get certified as an accountant. I've always loved math and people, so that's why I would love this line of work. :D

Other then that, I'm a wife to my wonderful husband David. I spoil my niece Desi rotten until I can have own kids to spoil on a daily basis as well. ;)

I'm a New York City public middle school teacher currently teaching both Life Science (7th grade) and Chinese (6th, 7th, and 8th grade). I hope to establish a full-time Chinese department at my school by next fall. (www.chinesepod.com for anyone who wants to learn Chinese!) :D

I'm also a youth minister, and I was working full-time in Chinatown until this past Fall when I returned to teaching. I still do itinerant preaching at various churches and workshop leading at youth conferences. I will be pastoring the English-speaking congregation at a Chinese church in Chinatown in the near future.

Oh, and I'm a grad school student getting my Master's in Childhood Education and Special Education.

I dunno the different names in English, so I'll just go by age lol.

Graduated as assistant accountant at 20, went to college at 27 and got my Corporate Communication's management degree at 30 (i did this cuz I was totally fed up with numbers, figures and accountancy).

Now, I work at the University of Ghent where I spend my time doing the administration, organisation and (yep.... ) financial management of longterm international and interuniversitairy projects in developing countries. Specifically I follow up a program with a university in Vietnam and one in Ethiopia and next to that im the Desk Officers for incoming students from other such projects coordinated by other Flemish universities.

I'm still an undergrad, studying math and secondary school math education. After I get my degree, I want to go to graduate school. I'm currently considering a masters in pure math and a PhD in math education, but I'm still looking at different programs to see what will best fit my needs and interests. After that, I want to teach middle school or work on developing math curricula for secondary school.

I am a second year Business and Administration student and I still have one and half more years to go before I get my Batchelor's Degree.

When I graduate, I would really work in Human Resource Management field and one day find a compay of my own. Right now the most doable idea would be my own clothes boutique but I have some little wilder ideas that could yet come true :)
