Ahah for some reason I had a feeling as soon as I got my pm that I was going to end up on a lynch train day one. No idea why but it is funny for raisins. Anyway, how do I talk my way back into folks good graces? If not things will play out for me exactly as my hunch suspected.

For some reason I have a feeling this means Killa has a powerful town role and we'll regret it if we lynch her, but who knows. There's no other reason I can think of that she'd feel this way. Going with the unpopular opinion here and saying she's NOT scum.

Do you have a scum lean yet at this point?

Who else leans town to you?

@Ironeyes I actually kind of missed the question in the back and forth. Though at the time I would have said it did not mean much to me, since I posted the joke and know what I meant by it and that it was not a defense. (I would have quoted you but I am on my phone and quoting is a b*tch on mobile and yours was super long.)

Yeah I don't like mobile much for mafia precisely because it doesn't quote properly.

That phrase I bolded definitely makes me nervous. I get town fatalism about dying since I often do the same thing when on the chopping block. But the way you worded that phrase makes me think you're more interested in surviving for its own sake than winning with your team. Not a towny thing to do.

I get your point. Though what I really meant with that phrase was I wanted off the chopping block, so I could save my claim for later in the game. I rather try to talk my way out of a lynch.

Yeah I would like to make it past day one. Lol I have survived till the end of every game I have played so far with the exception of one not on DM and even then I got damn close. If it came down to me or the town I would of course choose town but we are no where near that point.

Got it. Honestly my first instinct is to vote away from a lone train, but we've got about one day left. I almost always hang on to my vote till near the end.

@ Derf I might be taking a more hands-off approach to this game, but I'm still me and you know there's a substantial degree of depth to my thought process whether I'm choosing to express it at every instance or not.  I'm not going to demand people engage the game any more than they want to, but if you're a villager don't be a goof and chuck around suspicion on me for trivial/unexplained reasons.  I have no way of gauging your alignment in these low volume games you've been playing lately and if that leads to eventually mislynching you, well, it's not the worst possible outcome.  We'll see how events play out.  But do town a favor and either engage my slot with critical analysis so that we can read you in turn, or else accept that you're not going to get a reasonable scum lean on me this early and focus your attention on people who are more likely to show it early.

Basically I know you're not voting me but I don't much care for your approach to my slot.  It's easy to call anyone scum if you're a wolf.  I expect village!you to read me on a deeper level--not because I think you always will, but because I think you're entirely capable of it.  Give me a null pass or else apply your knowledge of my game and lay out your concerns.

kk catching up

I blame Zander for climate change, income inequality, and ants.

And communism. You forgot communism.

Communism is just the naive idealist's socialism. It leads to bad about as often as any other ideal-based outlook on wealth distribution. (See: the right's portrayal of capitalism as a religion.) Blame him for totalitarianism imo.

My drive to solve is pretty low on the first day to be honest, thats pretty much usual for me. I am currently still one of the more active posters aside from you, Shad and Zep. Also I am not selling anything. lol If you want to build a wagon for me and send me hurtling down the hill for the first day lynch, for lack of a better option, then thats what your gonna do. You might want to watch Zep after though. He does seem to be just jumping on your coat tails to avoid you turning on him.

Obviously my flavor reference and joke about dice did not go over well and if thats how you see it I dont really mind. Town has got to start somewhere and any day one death gets the ball rolling. I mean duh I am going to try to get out of it because I at least know I am town.

Italics: Flavour reference?? what are you talking about? If you are town then you should mind because a town death is a bad thing. the only benefit it gains is info and if you just accept it then that info is reduced.

Bold: this fatalistic stuff gets me frustrated. It feels like the old "you can't catch mafia on D1 so I'm not gonna try."

If you know you are town then you need to work to try to find mafia. If you think Zep is mafia because he is just following me then say so. vote him if you feel strongly enough about it. Saying you ar town is all well and good. You gotta BE TOWN. That means fighting for the town.

I'm getting more sure at this point that you're just a wolf.

And don't worry, Zep definitely still needs to show me he's town.

This. Just all of this.

I didn't bother earlier, but the flavor reference was "Lets weed out the traitors to the crown." She's not wrong about how this shindig got started, whatever you think of her follow-through.

Comcast has been kicking me offline for 15 minutes every night around this time for like two weeks now and it's driving me nuts.

I hate trying to explain this sort of thing. If this post were less.. passive aggressive isn't the right term... what do you call it when someone is sort of "omg how you could think *I* am a wolf is beyond me!" in their tone? That's what I am bothered by here, but I otherwise like the post. Tbh, that could just be my take on Kill since Idk her well.

I like this post. I dislike the scarcity of posts like it from Darthe. Lurking is one of his favorite early-game tactics as scum in my experience

Yeah I thought it was a good post. I think Killa's more of the righteous indignation type (I can relate lol) and for me that manifests more as scum but heavily as either alignment. Basically I don't disagree with his assessment and I get why people would think it's scummy behavior. I still think Killa's town though. We'll see if that changes between now and current.

Red, activity level is not alignment-indicative of Darthe, just makes him harder to read.

Common thing to call out but no.

I see it a lot: this assumption that if someone doesn't want to get lynched they must be scum.  And some players are internally consistent in so far as they're more than willing to lay down and die as villagers to give their team "information".  But in reality, unless you are a Jester, getting lynched is bad for your wincon.  "How do I talk my way back" is just a matter of stating her situation bluntly, whatever her alignment.  Some wolves will dodge blunt self-serving statements because appearances, and I would muse that statistically the statement is less likely to come from a wolf than from a villager, but on a case-by-case basis it's entirely null imo.

Are you voting Shad because you think he is more likely mafia than the other 3 people?

It's going to be one of those games where I feel like a total idiot if I'm wrong about your slot.

Basically goes back to what I said to Marsh though: i.e. lack of caution is a playstyle, not an alignment.

Id really like to hear from Turin, (he's gotta be close to his lunch break), where that thing with Killa came from.

I get me, being as I ain't seen a fairly notable series of the sci-fi variety, but that was her first post and I just don't get it.

So Turin, all joking aside, what's the deal with your Killa (for lack of a better word) read?

What exactly do you "get" irt his read of you? if you think it's based on a tv show you haven't seen how is that even remotely relevant?

I don't have a read on her. She's had.......1 post I believe. You could very well be right. She could be scum. I was failing to see how you connected me to her. I saw no defense there from her towards me.

She told Dice he was tinfoiling irt his joke vote on your slot.

You can read her post as a pure joke or as a joke with the underlying motive of manipulating Dice's perception of your slot, basically.  That's the connection--the "defense" potential, if you will.  It's a pretty classic Turin thing to call out, and the playful way he did it vs drawing more attention to his reasoning up front makes me think he's probably town.  At least, to the degree that I am willing to chuck out that opinion early in a game where I don't expect a huge volume of information to process and refine my reads by.

I think it's unlikely that Killa was trying to defend anyone there if scum, in so far as wolves seldom jump at an early joke vote.  Doesn't rule out any alignments, just not something I'm willing to bank an early read on.  I do think she came off awkwardly formal in both of those posts, which could just be how she speaks or could be that thing that especially new wolves do where they worry too much about how their tone is going to rub off on people in the joke phase and subsequently adapt an unnatural tone.  We'll see where it goes.

I didn't really feel like defense when I read it. I can sorta mayhaps get where the notion came from, but that's not the vibe I got. She does however feel a bit rigid.

So nyns been playful but these two posts show shes paying attention and come accross to me as townish nyn things

@Dice I'm trying to process whether that's a reasonable stance on her given last game, and I think it's just fine.

Too little to go on for my liking, but I see a tonal difference in those from the game content she posted D1 last game and that's the sort of thing you're more likely to pick up on at a glance than I am.
