How come there are no games in signups?

I'm intrigued. You're reminding me of Kat's game where everyone could become the SK.

I love wacky things like that even if they stray away from mafia a bit.

It will be town v mafia, just like normal. That may very well be the only thing normal about it, though.

To answer the thread question, it is because we have like 12 people who regularly play anymore and it isn't nearly as fun to mod when signups take a month.

I agree it's annoying when signups take so long; however, people can also get their signups up earlier. I've been noticing lately that if someone is next in the queue for the Advanced Games, for instance, and there's 2 Advanced games in progress, that next person will wait until one of those games ends before putting up their signs-ups. We didn't used to do it that way - instead, you put your signups up while those 2 games are still going on, maybe even as early as when they're just starting, and just make sure people know the game won't start until one of the Advanced games finishes.

 

The downside, certainly, is that RL things can happen in those few weeks while signups are going on, and people may need to drop out. But I just wanted to point out that it is an option, to get your signups posted earlier - at least, that's my understanding of how it works on this board - if I'm wrong, someone feel free to correct me.

I tend to post the signups as late as possible because there's usually too many games going on. We don't have a playerbase to run 2xadv and 2xbasic at once, not without players being in too many games and those games suffering from it.

I agree with this.  Honestly, I wish mafia was only played on this board, but I'm not going to mandate that.

 

If this was the only place for mafia on DM, then we'd have the playerbase we need.
