  1. I came to WoT late in the game - I had read some fantasy in my teens and 20s but for a long time most of what I read was more in the mystery/thriller genre, with a splash of Stephen King. After my husband died far too young, I was kind of sunk in a depression for a couple of years (and wasn't working at the time), and I'd been playing World of Warcraft obsessively so I decided to read all the Warcraft lore novels I could get my hands on, and then asked my guildmates for suggestions about what to read next. A Song of Ice and Fire was highly recommended, so I devoured those books shortly before the news came out that HBO was considering a TV show based on the series. My best friend and I were talking one day, and I was geeking out about ASoIaF, giving her a bit of the rundown about the story, and describing the connection between the Stark kids and the direwolves, and she said it reminded her of the scene in Eye of the World where Perrin learns he can talk to wolves. So of course I had to read Eye of the World. And then everything else available. I think I finished The Gathering Storm right about the time Towers of Midnight was released, so the only book I had to wait for was AMoL.
  2. In the wolf dream he is Isam, who is Lan's cousin... I believe Nynaeve sees him in Tel'Aran'Rhiod early on and mistakes him for Lan for just a second, and when Perrin encounters him he thinks he could be Lan's brother.
  3. We also have @Darthe. Happy birthday, Darthe!!
  4. might be about time for me to come up with another basic theme then
  5. Great job Verb and AJ!! Thanks for modding Hallibabe *snugs the Nyn*
  6. I really should have. Sometimes I am literally terrible at this game!
  7. Vig is smarter than me! Today is a good day indeed.
  8. Pssh. You're the one who's been acting weird. Sassypants.
  9. If you can't tell I'm town, yes. You are. You know me better than that.
  10. Honestly, the fact that you're even asking is worrying me. Quit worrying me, and I won't need to.
  11. In the words of Ser Davos Seaworth... Yeah, I noticed you staring at her good heart.
  12. That's not what I was saying. I think those who can read Wi-Fi overall might have a better idea whether she's capable of maintaining that level of openness in her thoughts if she's carrying out someone else's plan, though.
  13. I was sweating it for a couple of minutes while waiting for the scene to post. LOL
  14. I certainly don't think we can take anything to the bank, but a few people do come out a little more clearly there. Like WiFi, for instance. If I was going to bet on it, her stance on Crusher in addition to a few other things that popped into my head make me pretty sure she's clean regardless of my ability to follow every thought she puts into the thread.
  15. Buuuuuuut.... it's better than blind lynching the Doc. So I'll take it.
  16. Oh my Mod. *whew* (Double checks the rules list and finds no mention of the thread being closed for night phase... so I think we're good.)
  17. Sigh. ##Crusher And we'll see from there.
  18. So here is where my head is at right now. I am weirdly comfortable with Darthe in a way I have never been this early in a game and I'm sort of freaked out by it. I'm liking AJ a lot this game - he's really great at the whole fake scumhunting/subtle manipulations thing, but eh. I refuse to believe it at this stage. If it were F3 I'd have to wrack my brain over it, but it's Day 1, and there hasn't been anything at all that makes me worry about him yet. Verb and Krak I have as light town (again, something I'm not used to being all that comfortable with early game). Verb is mostly because I honestly don't believe he'd go after Town!WiFi as mafia with the number of people with experience playing with her that had her as town. Krak is more of a gut feeling, and subject to change as much as anything, but I'm not particularly interested in pursuing him at this point. Now for the problem. WiFi is someone I'm probably never going to get used to reading and will have to rely on the judgment of others. There's a subset of mafia players that I just can't wrap my head around, because they basically say everything that pops into their head without filter, and many of their thoughts come from an approach that is foreign to me and I'd never consider saying in the game thread as any alignment. Eldrick is another. I'm guessing it's a good sign that she's being open and saying things that come across as questionably scummy, if she isn't capable of faking that level of openness. I really don't know, so I'm going to have to leave it as a question, with the caveat that AJ and Cory probably can make the call accurately. Nyn I can't recall enough of game related thoughts to form a specific read of yet, and that doesn't bother me, just leaves her as null for the moment. NotBob is generally the opposite of WiFi, one of the more opaque players whose thought processes I'm not sure I understand. Beads is openly not caring about being lynched, and I don't know that's a bad sign. Kat is finally back and there is really nothing to go on, except that she's now trying to catch up at the last minute and that might be good, Which leaves the bottom 3: CorVa, who I don't think I'd ever try to take out D1, because I don't flatter myself that I could catch Scum!Cory right out of the gate. I'm just not feeling my shiny happy Town!Cory and it makes me sad. IT, who I really don't know enough about what to do with. Crush, who has gone AWOL and might be a bad sign?
  19. Waking up and reading what the early people have to say.
  20. Hey man, I said it first. I know y'all just want to be like me.
  21. Suddenly I'm ridiculously sleepy for no reason whatsoever. Not even going to try to fight it and make coherent conversation tonight. Setting my alarm for 2 hours before deadline, coffee and voting on the agenda first thing.
  22. Low hanging fruit - easily picked.
  23. That thought occurred to me... on the other hand, if he's scum and he knows he's going after town, I would expect he'd be more concerned with how it's going to look since the people with experience playing with WiFi aren't jumping on that. Ya know? Alternative theories - Scum!Verb doesn't care about how it looks to jump on LHF... or an early bus if they are teammates. I know I've jumped on a scummy teammate D1 to try to look good (although heaven knows by D2 i was begging to be bussed and put out of my misery).
