That looks like absolutely the best cake in the world. Except for the Darth Maul cake my sister made me back in I think 1999.

Thanks! I'm celebrating my birthday today by picking up trash this morning at church (the very first "community service day" they've had), followed by 12 hours during 3rd shift cleaning trash out of parking garages! Lucky for me, my wife loves me and we celebrated yesterday.

So far the best part is my wife got me The Hobbit on DVD, and using a gift card from work, I got the Lego Lord of the Rings set with the smaller portion of Helm's Deep!

Speaking of legos, Tay...

I've not been able to make more since a baby stole my studio space (and now once I have a studio again, I will need to buy a PC and software since my old versions are, well, old, and the software won't work on my Mac), but Lego Stop-Motion is one of my principle hobbies. I didn't get very far, however, once I had everything set up, so I am eager to get back to it!

My first stop-motion project (really just a time-lapse, but I used it to learn my program with something more than short tests)

My first attempt at a LotR scene. Pardon the atrocious German - it was my end-of-year project for my first year of German in college. I copied the camera angles exactly from the film, going frame by frame to make it as exact as possible. (And, of course, this was BEFORE LotR legos were all the rage, so I had to improvise since the Hobbits and Aragorn were not yet in production!)
