Hello Everyone! My name is Andrew and I am reading the series again after about a 10 year break. I only got to LoC last time and I stopped about midway through. I'm enjoying the read again so far! I'm a dad and husband, and I am active duty military. Can't wait to converse with you all!

Hello! My name is Larissa, I am from Germany and a WoT newbie. I'm reading the series for the first time right now (in english if you wonder) and I'm currently in the middle of "The Shadow Rising". Till now, I am really enjoying the adventure. And because I have the need to talk to someone about the books (noone I know wants to read 14/15 books) I found my way here. ?

Hi there, I can’t access that thread you mentioned. How does one go about joining the other forms here? Are there steps to becoming Aes Sedai? Thanks!

Hi, and welcome to DM! The sites had a renewal last year some time, and all us that joined afterwards (I joined last fall) are not privy to the old threads. It's now clubs, and if you want to be raised as an aes sedai there's two clubs that can give you that.

The roleplay

https://dragonmount.com/forums/forum/411-the-welcome-inn/

Or the social group (you are yourself but theres elements of RP like you do have aspie classes, and have to get raised as either aes sedai or warder, and sometimes the aspies get a little..creative..and get trown in the red dungeon or has to stand trial lol)

White tower and warders:

Hello, sorry for the wait. I think handle makes ist easier for now ?
I like Rand very much and Elayne, but the others are also getting interesting now.

Hope to see you in the Tower. The raisings in the Tower are earned for you personally. The raisings in role play are for a character you create. Both are fun.

yes, we got two places you can do that ?

the white tower and warders club which is a social club where you have to have an intro class with your mentor before choosing track and after earn your ranks by partisipation and activety

https://dragonmount.com/clubs/15-the-white-tower-warders/

and the rolleplay club where obviously they also have a white tower where your character have to go through requirements similar to those in the books

https://dragonmount.com/clubs/14-wot-role-play/

https://drpsw.fandom.com/wiki/Dragon_Reborn_PSW_Wiki

can be usefull for finding examples of biographies, requirements and so on

Cheers, one and all!

I am a long time stalker of Dragonmount.com (~2000) and reader of WoT since 1993. I have loved and cherished this site, first among others, and have finally emerged from the Shadow to walk in the Light, perhaps dim light for starters?

I am reading the series (for the first time) to my sons, chapter by chapter, and to my wife. Glad to connect with you all.

Welcome StarRisk! That’s wonderful you are reading the series with your family! My son is a bit too young to enjoy it yet, mostly because of his attention span lol. I’m looking foreword to the experience. Glad to glimpse you in the dim light after so long lurking in the shadows ?

Right on. They enjoy it. My eight year old has a rough time of it, but occasionally he chimes in with information. Before I read, I always ask the boys one thing they recall so far in the story, be it names/places/events. Helps keep em engaged and gives them a reason to pay attention.

Good luck to ya, partner!

We started reading Eye of the World out loud when my son was an Infant, their attention span doesn't get any getter even when they're three! We mostly read AT him instead of To 'em!

I like it! Force feed them haha. I’ll just put it on the same level as eating vegetables and make sure he doesn’t have any other nearby available stimuli. And i will give him some canvas to draw his imaginings of the characters and scenery!

I am looking forward to the new series coming out. A long time lover of fantasy, have probably sifted through every major author at Barnes and Nobles, over decades, it would seem none lasted the true test: the test of time. Save for The Wheel of Time. Looks like I will be lingering around and contributing what knowledge I can, and see if we can mow through this troubled time and build of what we can from the salvaging. I am currently re-reading the entire WoT series, so much has happened within the last decade or so, many realms rose and fell. I will be looking for taints of this within these works, as well as the interesting choices they choose to see who is who and what the ambient environment looks like, especially the grass fields of Two Rivers.

Hello everyone. Hope you are all well. I am Euan and I hail from Scotland.

First night on DM. Been waiting to sign up for ages because I didn't want to accidentally see any spoilers. Finally finished the series at 2 o'clock this morning after just over 20 years (I'm not a slow reader, I just got bogged down in the middle books and kinda lost my way for a while). Finally went back and started again earlier this year accompanying the reading with the audio books to really reinforce the story. So glad I did. Brilliant. Not even afraid to admit as a 44 year man that I shed a couple of tears over the last book. I became so enthralled, the characters really came to life and I almost felt part of it all at times. My wife is fed up hearing me telling her who did what and what happened here and there lol.

Looking forward to reading the forum and seeing other people's takes on things.

I do plan on going back to the beginning and hitting the books again, right after I have finished another series I have been reading for a long time (not sure if I am allowed to name it, so I won't)

Yes a bit dangerous to come here before finishing the Series.
Took me about 20 years too but most of that was waiting for the next book. Can understand how you got bogged down in the Slog, got somewhat frustrated myself reading the first time and then having to wait a couple of years for the next book.

Nothing wrong with talking about other Series here, normally done under the Off Topic thread found on the home page and most of us are General Fantasy Fans, always looking for new series.

Hi there @onionjoe76 and welcome to DM!

I'm only on book four so yes I do not wander to much around outside of the clubs, to avoid spoilers.

My family are the same! Really wish there were other fans around who I can chat with about the series (I'm from South Africa). But at least we have Dragonmount, to which I welcome you warmly!

Welcome! Euan! We are all from California but my niece lives in Edinburgh. She earned two graduate degrees at the University and now works there. Plus, she married a Scot!

Yes, you can name the series! If you choose to join the White Tower and Warders Club you will find that the Brown Ajah has a book challenge and lively book discussion.

I’m waiting for the last book this December in  “The Ember in the Ashes” series by Sabaa Tahir. I highly recommend it.

Hi to everyone here!

I'm Alcalimo (that in elvish tongue means Roberto) and just arrived here.

I've started to read WOT two months ago and am now arrived to the 11th book. Hope to finish all soon!

I'm a retired teacher and a fantasy writer, too, but my hottest passion is the elvish calligraphy, Tengwar if you know it.

Hope to enjoy here with you!
