He wanted so badly to have revenge on Lews Therin for being the dragon instead of him, but at the same time, he was always too level-headed to just run into the fray and try to take him out. His extreme anger is balanced so well with his cool deameanor that the hatred the other forsaken feel toward Rand seems almost trivial.

AMOL SPOILER

Don't really see where. I thought it was pretty common knowledge earlier on in the series about Demandred's connection with Lews Therin. I gave nothing away. I could be wrong, but I knew of that connection well before reading AMOL.

It's not refering to your post, it's refering to what's in Suttree's spoiler caption.

I had to vote for Nynaeve. She showed tremendous growth and always showed what I thought were both the greatest fainlings and greatest qualities in a character.

And Tarvalantarverenn, Nyn has some awesome moments to come (as do many). Don't give up on the series.

I voted to remove Faile, cause it's just not fair. Too many hate her. Add on Hopper!

oh, and maybe put Noal in parentheses (next to Farstrider), just in case.

I like Min the best so far. She provides Rand with the love and care he needs. Doesn't even blame him for trying to kill her (albeit under duress) she provides him with a sensation of peace and relaxation when he actually needs it. Also I love Lan, whom I see as a second (Aragorn),Mat, Moiraine, Thom and Nyanaeve. I like some of the others Loyal being my best for his dogged pursuit of the characters for his book. Egwene became too whiny Elayne too upity, Avi too sacrificial, Perrin is nice but since BS took over he lost his appeal as did Mat for that reason (yes we get it you're both married but the Mat and Perrin I got to know would never run away from a friend in need) I didn't choose Rand he is the heart and soul but he lost his appeal to me when BS took over he became a bit too much. By the end of the book I liked him still but it left me a bit desensitised didn't feel any of the passion or loss I would have felt for many of the characters had RJ been writing it. Sorry if it offends anyone

Honestly the character nyneave bugged me to death, with egwene and Elaine close behind in descending order. I literally skipped a lot of their chapters for all the crap. Hugs and kisses, sister this, love you that, my god for the three most powerful women on earth they are damn annoying. And nyneaves hatred of moiraine is so ridiculous? It is clear to anyone reading that it is not her fault that the boys were tarveran, she also saved their lives, not destroy them. Every time they ask a dumb question only to have moiraine calmly tell them the obvious answer, and then still stay angry at her after, as if its her fault they didn't know, I wanna scream.

Anyway, perrins determination, for ages, to deny and fight off the wolf stuff is another stupid thing, why does he regect it? I would be lapping that shit up. He is a bitch.

And the constant thing were he writes in the fact that all three boys think the other 2 are good with girls? Yeah it was funny the first time but after like 50 references it gets really dull. Was this dude a Mormon for Petes sake, they were grown men and Perrin and rand blush like school girls at the first hint of skin!

I would say mat was the most interesting to read but personally fav chachter is loial, the way he gets scared in parts is really funny, and if I was in the story myself I think I would like to be sitting in the back taking notes and crushing the occasional skull with a stick the size of a mans arm, he's bad ass yet really humble, and chilled.

I have I only just started book 4 but am seriously thinking of putting it all away because of them damn girls, will nyneave hold onto that stupid role of protector of emens feild the whole time? I ask this already suspecting she will be the eventual downfall of moiraine

OK, your opinions just aren't really fair.

-Nynaeve KNOWS her dislike of Moiraine isn't accurate or fair.  Her inability to admit when she's wrong has been an established facet of her character from the jump.

-Perrin is a bitch for not wanting to become a mindless animal?  He saw what it did to Noam, spoilers aside,  and it (rightfully) scared the crap out of him.

-RJ does beat the horse a little often when it comes to the way the boys think about each others' prowess with women.  BUT, they are NOT grown men, they are YOUNG men.  Who grow up in a conservative village.  They didn't have porn at their fingertips like you do, so it makes perfect sense for them to "blush at the first hint of skin."  That definitely goes away, as they all become sexually active throughout the series.

Perrins first experience was with Elias who was decidedly not mad, wouldn't you agree? That is part of the point I made: he had a chance to learn his new abilities but gave it up and tried to ignore them.

The fact that nyneave knows she is behaving badly does not excuse it? Lol it makes it worse, probably a lot to do with jealousy.

Anyhow I'm finished reading, I gave up reading nyneaves chapters after her departure from tear with Elaine, shortly after skipping over egwenes chapters too, now in the middle of book seven, when Rands obsession with keeping women safe and commiting to memory the face and name of unknown women killed during an attempt on his life, I have quit the series. He even self harms everytime a maiden dies, pathetic. a real man would have wiped lan fear off the face of the earth as soon as he knew who she was, not this BS about he couldn't even kill her if his life depended on it, news flash buddy the whole world depends on you staying alive so drop the chivalry!

It seems what you want is for the characters to all be Lan, which would be boring.  People are flawed.  No one is perfect,  Rand has a potentially fatal flaw, true, but if he didn't and just did everything exactly perfect all the time, wouldn't that be a boring story?

And taking a life should never be easy, let alone for a farm boy.  I'm not sure you would find it as easy to do, or as easy to deal with the aftermath, as you say you would.  Some might even say that it takes  "real man" to show the restraint he so often strives for.

I have many favorites. I just can't pick one. Rand is the heart of the tale, so i voted for him, but there is so much more.

The ones i love absolutely and the most are:

Men: Rand, Mat, Perrin, Lan and Loial ( the cutest and one of the funniest characters)

Women: Without a doubt Egwene Al-Vere and Nynaeve Al-Meara. Their characters are really moving and most complex of the female ones. :)

The second place goes to Moiraine, Aviendha and Elayne :)

It's hard not to love the WOT characters. Every one of them, good or bad, is unique and the series wouldn't be the same if even one of them was left out.

For most interesting forsaken i chose Ishamael and Lanfear. I have always madly enjoyed well-written, dark and intricate villains. :)

Has to be Rand. I like his story of having to bear the crushing weight of being this saviour figure and him struggling to meet the challenges facing him. As well as seeing the evolution of the character and he is pretty badass as well.

I would have said Nynaeve, but, she doesn't get that many POVs and because she very rarely gets a chance to properly fight for the series I've read I can't really consider her a true favourite. Best female character though. I would say I prefer Nynaeve as a person to Rand though.

Moiraine and Lan are also really good characters although they aren't really in the books enough.

You are right. Especially for Nyn, She is one of my two favorite female characters and definitely has the most exiting story of all WOT women. I wish she had more POVs too. The reason many important, interesting characters have so many little POVs is because it's really big cast and the author can't give them all the proper amount of it. I guess it would be harder to follow if he did. .

Lan, Mat, Cadusane, Lanfear, Ishamael, Rand, Perrin and Nyaneve...possibly in that order.

I like the way Cadusane toyed with everyone. She was so badass, probably could have fought everyone one-on-one with the exception of uber Rand and TP Ishamael.

Funny but I didn't love Mat the first half of the series but the second half I never wanted his chapters to end. His interactions with Tuon and Talmanes were awesome. Of all of his one liners of which many deserve consideration I think the one I laughed at the loudest was the end of the meeting between Rand, Tuon and Matt when he says (paraphrasing) "Oh by the way I saved Morraine so suck on that while you're keeping score."

Lan has my pick, I always tossed up between Mat, Lan and Gaul. But it's gotta be Lan! When he starts his ride for Tarwins Gap and his scence encountering the Malkieri, that just sealed the deal!

Although I must say, Mat had me laughing the most, his line of thinking is classic!

While this is a hard question I ultimately have to go with Min. I think she has to be the bravest character in the whole thing. How many times is she surrounded by things trying to kill her or kill those with her? Most of the time she's surrounded by those who can channel and they're having a tough time of it or she's with the Aiel who are lifelong warriors and she fearlessly goes to battle with them all with just some knives up her sleeves. While I have to applaud her knife throwing skills you would think that with all she's been through and all she's faced she would be scared to death! I know that she's with Rand most of the time and that he's trying to protect her, but with the sheer number of enemies that they face you'd think that her trust and devotion would waver, especially after Rand almost killed her.

So, I have to say that my favorite character is Min.

Can't decide. A favourite character is not necessarily someone you love, just a good character. I think a lot of the WoT characters are somewhat stereotypical, but then there's something about all of them which makes them more complex and deeper than what it seems like at first glance.

I really like Nynaeve - she can very annoying at times, but her flaws (incredible stubborness, reluctance to admit she is not always right, vulnerability she tries to make up for by playing tough) are what makes her interesting. And relatable, IMO. So I might go for her - but I also really like Aviendha and Min. Elayne sometimes irks me, although I realize she, like Rand, is trying to fulfil her duty and act the way she believes she is expected to. And I have to say, I respect Egwene even though you cannot always like the way she manipulates people or some of the choices she makes as Amyrlin. But she is not afraid to do what she thinks is best, and to face the consequences if she fails. She is not a coward or tries to justify her mistakes, like Nynaeve and Elayne often do. So, I can't help but respect and command Egwene regardless of the things that make her less than my favourite.

When it comes to the men, I think I would have to say Lan or Thom. They are also older than most of the characters, so they have experienced more stuff, I suppose. Which is one of the reasons. Of the main male trio, I think I like Rand - much for the same reasons as I like Nynaeve. He is a very flawed, stubborn and sometimes foolish character - but it is impossible to truly dislike him. He does what he believes he has to do for the world, he does not always make the right choices in the readers' eyes, but he really changes throughout the series and that change is also something which makes him interesting. Mat is probably my least favourite of the three (actually, of all the five original main characters - Perrin, Rand, Mat, Egwene and Nynaeve).

Perrin Aybara for sure, he is calm, down to earth and has the most sense about what it takes to survive out of all the characters even before he gains the senses of a wolf. IMO Matt is too impulsive, but does bring humor to the series and the Rand is very dank as is likely with the task ahead, but I don't relate to him as well, making it difficult to put him at the top.
