The White/Brown Winter Olympic Carnival: Amazing Race!

Welcome to the Amazing Race: Olympic Biathlon

 

Please read the rules!

 

• Everyone must obey the CoC. 
• Only the racers that have signed up HERE can participate in this Amazing Race. Other posts like "Go, go, Rhea!" are allowed, but if there is anything suspicious-looking (i.e. hidden help to solve the puzzle  ), the post will be immediately deleted. 
• You may give yourself a race name, but it's not necessary. 
• If there are questions, please ask them in this sign-up thread. (so the others can see the answer too, they may wonder the same thing as you do) 
• Each "Leg" of the race will last for 24 hours. This is a Biathlon theme. There will be several places along the race you must stop to hit targets. These targets will come in the form of questions, puzzles or items to search for.
• When you miss a target you will have 1 minute added to your time. The racer with the least amount of time at the end of the race is the winner! (and so on for 2nd and 3rd place)
• No outside help from other racers or DM members is allowed. We can't watch your RL, we rely on your honest character that you won't use outside help.
• In here you can't get eliminated.
• There will be chances to earn bonuses along the race. 
• Do not post your answers in the game thread! All answers must be submitted in the Game PM that will be sent to you.
• Failure to send your answers in on time will cost you! 
• Please feel free to post in the game as you move along the course. We want you to enjoy it!

All the racers are gathered inside the gates of Lugagde just over the river from the White Tower. They look eager to be on their way. The crowds can be heard cheering for their favorite racers, the colors mixing all around as they wave the many banners. The racers adjust their gear and crossbows getting ready to take their marks for the start of the race.

 

The racers must make their way to the first Target area at The Blue Cat; An Ogier built inn located inside Tar Valon. Banners mark the course with the seven stripes of the White Tower. They must hurry to the target and hit three bulls-eyes each to avoid having extra time added to their total.

 

Rhea Sedai of the White Ajah, and our very own accepted, Aidanna, step up to the platform. Rhea raises a hand to settle the crowd and announces the start of the race....

 

"Welcome one and all to the Amazing Race! Thank you for joining us today. It is with great pleasure we announce your racers for this years Olympic Biathlon!

Aidanna raises her hand to signal the Illumnators to being the race with bang...

 

"When you hear (or see) the Fireworks the race will begin!

The racers are off through the gates and out into the snow....the crowd explodes in cheers!

[Rhea]

The racers moved past the villagers who were gathered to watch the beginning of the race. Everyone moved quickly, eager to get to their next location. Running, they made their way westward down the main street of the village toward the bridge. Ogier built, the beautiful lacework bridge seemed to stretch farther than the eye could see. In the distance, the group could see the rising white tower that was the focal point of the island, The White Tower.  Focusing on the race, the group moved to the bridge and started running over it. The bridge seemed too fragile to support the group, the lacy stonework was stronger than it appeared though. The river Osendrelle Erinin flowed smoothly beneath the bridge, and the smell of water hung heavily in the air. As the group ran over the last section of the bridge, everyone started looking around in wonder at the wall surrounding Tar Valon. The city was encircled by wondrous white walls that were shining in the sun. Blinking at the brightness, the group moved past the bridge and through the gate into the city. The beauty of Tar Valon was breathtaking. The buildings were the same beautiful stonework as the bridges were. The beautiful stonework of the buildings was Ogier made, and some of the buildings were even connected to each other by floating bridges, like bridges in the sky.  The group moved quickly, searching buildings around them, until they found the Blue Cat. Yet another Ogier built building, an Inn, shaped like a great blue cat curled in sleep.

[Mashiara Sedai]

*Mashi--though brimming with Aes Sedai grace and serenity--rushes with the others as the race gets started. Knowing the city quite well, and not overwhelmed by its beauty, she quickly finds her way to the Blue Cat, recalling that they had excellent blueberry tea. As she waits for the others to arrive, she orders a cup.*

Chaelca advances hesitatingly toward the Blue Cat, as she has been away far too long from Tar Valon, she barely remembers the place. But still, she find her marks just in time and arrives second at the Inn. Joining Mashi, she orders a cup of tea.

[Theodora]

Theo has never been in this part of Tar Valon but due to her competitive nature, she rushes into the Blue Cat, leaving the sightseeing for the tourists. She is right after the two Aes Sedai - Mashi and Chaelca.

[Pralaya]

Pralaya enters the inn and is startled by the number of Aes Sedai teeming inside. He sighed. He never liked those witches but there was no choice. He was here to win and he will face any odds to do it.

Blank joined the other AS ladies for tea, glad that the competitive spirit was not yet too high and they could still enjoy each others company.

[ReleaseTheEvil]

RTE made his way to the in. He knew he was not last but he knew others would be there before him. However, he was not concerned. The race had only just begun and it would be a long one. The time for haste would come but it had not arrived yet. He set a comfortable pace and arrived at the Blue Cat, greeted by familiar faces.

Rey arrived at the Ogier inn, and was pleased with the homely atmosphere. He sat at the bar and lit a cigar.

*striding up to the cozy looking Blue Cat, Time entered and took a seat in the back after ordering a Sprite.... she'd need the caffeine*

Xthrax made his way to to the inn and took a comfortable seat

[Rhea]

Rhea stood outside the Blue Cat Inn looking down the crowd lined streets for signs of the last racer. The other racers had all made it safely to the Inn and about to receive their first set of targets.

[Luciena]

Luci arrived at the inn sits at a table with a cup of tea.

[Rhea]

With everyone inside the Inn Rhea and Aidanna sneak around and set up the targets.

Target 2 - How many people had previously found the Eye of the World and the Green Man since the War of the Hundred Years?

Rhea steps up to speak to the crowd as the racers take off for the next stop,

 

"Theo, Mashi, Time and Xthrax are in the lead, close behind them are Pralaya, Chaelca, and blank with each missing one target. RTE is in 3rd missing two targets. Unfortunately Luciena's crossbow malfunctioned and she missed all her targets while Rey fainted and missed them all as well. They will both take a penalty lap and join us at the next stop".

 

The group moved northward through the city. Townspeople  were all gathered in the street to watch the contestants race past. Shop owners had carts all around, taking advantage of the crowd by promoting sales for food and drink as well as souvenirs. The group moved North toward the Harbor. The pier was shaped like a horseshoe into the river above the island. There were great ships were harbored there, and the contests looked around in wonder as they approached the next check point. 

 

Set on the docks were their next three targets.

Rey's fainting spells strike again, or maybe there's a gray man in the city. Either way, Rey will not be able to finish the race. 

 

We've got Aes Sedai tending to him now.
