Barid, and Cow, the Bong guy (really amuses me because my Best Friend who got me into this damn series is from Ohio and recently moved back there), Kovonan are all posters with whom I enjoy posting.

 

Sutt, although we disagree on a lot, mad props to him for great discussion. Constantly. Luckers and Yon as well.

 

Thisguy is always amusing. And I like how he says what I'm thinking in a way that I'd never think to word it. Random, I know. I've probably missed too many to name, but oh well.

Thanks to everyone who mentioned me! Glad I am able to spread the love of WoT!

 

I don't think I could single out people, I think that all kinds of posters make DM what it is (pretty cheesy, but there you go)

 

First, the "elders": Luckers, Terez, Yoniy0 Sutts Mr Ares etc... Basically any question you have about WoT, they can and will answer. Their passion and knowledge of the Wheel are the core of what keeps forums like these going.

 

New posters: Although the inevitable Olver-Cain and Taim-Demandred threads are exasperating at times, it is always good to see new members joining and getting into the discussion. It can be daunting dealing with the above mentioned (not their fault, just their knowledge) but even if some theories are already debunked, I always enjoy reading new theories, or old ones from a different perspective. After a while, we tend to stick to our own thoughts about the series without much compromise, so it is always good to get a fresh perspective.

 

Outside the Box thinkers: Mik leads the race with this one. These guys bring something unique to the forums. Never adhere to the "conventional" ideas about the Wheel, their posts are often extraordianry. Mik in particular. While I disagree as often as I agree with the posts, you can be fairly certain that your mind will be blown with the detail that these guys develop their thoughts about the Wheel. Some might call it looney, but I enjoy the diverse thoughts, many of which make sense.

The Fisher King would get props from me solely for creating that 'Name the PoV' trivia game a few years ago, but also had a bunch of interesting threads and ideas over the years.

 

The folks that can drop the WoT knowledge like they'd just read the pertinent chapter, and especially the people that take the time to research theories and post them here just impress the hell out of me.

Sid and herid, I enjoy your keen perspective. Your observations never cease to surprise and impress me. Fish and Barid, it's always a pleasure to have a conversation with you guys.

 

But as long as I'm talking about stuff people do that I appreciate, I'm not sure that everyone here realizes just how much time and effort some people put in, with immense generosity, for the fandom at large. Truly, lurking around these boards doesn't come close to what they do. Tip of the hat to Jason, Jenn and Seg, Matt and the others with whom I'm less familiar. Terez's dedication cannot be questioned. Last but not least, James's ability to gather evidence into cohesive (and often times, compelling) arguments is nothing short of amazing. He'd be perfect, if it weren't for that unfortunate realism of his

definitely need more good will. I wonder sometimes how much of the recent fractiousness is due to the fact that WoT is coming to an end whether we like it or no.

 

Really appreciate the work the mods do. Most forums I go to don't have this kind of oversight and they quickly become wretched hives of scum and villainy. It's wonderful to have a place where you can express opinions without being slandered for them. I've not developed any in depth personal relationships with anyone here, though that's my fault for being here again gone again, but I have to say that there are a LOT of people here who have put forth things I never thought of, and debate minutiae in a way that I love. I'd like to thank all the regular posters, who accept my (and other non regular posters) views and view them as being just as valid, even though due to other commitments I can't spend time regularly on here.

 

Its nice to know that despite the fact I may not know as much as the likes of many of the regulars my opinions are still given due consideration. (Even if I do have a habit of coming up with wild unfounded theories)

 

 

Edit. Until proven otherwise I won't be dissuaded that Taim is really Targ, as I believe there is nothing that stops a (smart) Trolloc being reborn.

As someone who lurked for years and just recently started posting, I appreciate the threads with detailed information about things I've forgotten, and the explanations of a lot of little details or foreshadowings that I've missed.

I just have to say that everyone here amazes me. The things people pick up, and the theories people spin out are beyond my brain apparently. I also thank you all for giving me something to do while in class, i'm completely lost in Intro to Programming and its all thanks to you guys!

I think everyone here that post's smart and educated statement's need a high five. I use to frequent wotmania back in the day alot but spent 5 years overseas with minimum internet access. I have spent the last month read posts and posts making me remember why I love this series. Mostly I'd like to thank Robert Jordan.

 

15 years ago I enlisted and got sent to basic training. I got to bring 2 bags on the plane of items that I'll need for the next 9 months of training. I had a paper with a list of items I'll need to bring (white t-shirts, shampoo etc). Two of my most valued item's I brought was ACoS and APoD. All our personal item's were taken and locked in a closet in the barracks when I got to basic training, the items were the last thing on my mind the first few days. After 3-4 days I started to get use to the 4am wakeup's and yelling and I started to think about the WoT books in my luggage. On the 5th night I laid down and waited for everyone to fall asleep, I snuck off the the day room where the luggage closet door was. I stacked two end table's together and put a chair on top of it, then I climbed up and removed the ceiling tile. I crawled over the false wall into the closet and found my luggage. The closet has a pull light with a single bulb, enough light to read. Every night of basic training I snuck into that closet and read for a bit. During the 6 weeks of training I was able to read ACoS and APoD. To this day I thank those books for getting me through all the push up's, yelling and lack of sleep.

 

To this day if I'm stressed, stuck in the desert or honestly need a good poop I pick up a WoT book.

Damn MaGyver, if we had just managed to plant your dogeared copy of Fires of Heaven on Bin Laden 10 years ago, it sounds like you would have tracked him down in about 3 days and saved us all a lot of trouble.

 

Anyway, I am a big on and off member here. I tend to come around in the months leading up to, and then a month after a new release. So I don't know too many members, but the ones I do....

 

Luckers - I have found some of your unique theories to be just as much fun to read as the series itself.

I do not like any of you and that is whY iam writing post 5.00 am in the morning when I have to leave for office in precisely one and half an hour. People I enjoyed most arguing against has to be Sutt and Mr. Ares and we have disagreed on everything except the color of sky, but w still respect and like each other and I guess that is the purpose of this thread to make everyone realiz that first and foremost it is our love of this series which makes us spend sleepless night arguing something mundane. nice post mr. Hindley do appreciate it. one other person i would like to mention is fish he is a grat guy has been around forever and has stopped trying to antagonize luckers. Well, hello, I feel so honored to post here... :) It's never easy to express my thoughts and feelings in a way comprehensible to all, since English is not my first language. Right now I most want to thank Mashiara - I always look forward to her theory blog. Every Tuesday she manages to introduce some great ideas and create a friendly discussion place. Metal Head is my favorite poster there, and jack of shadows and mark are always present as well - greetings guys, and see you next Tuesday . Kudos to Peregrine, too - she does an amazing job, not only always being able to find some brand new pieces of art to make my Friday, but also creating stunning images herself. If you haven't seen them yet, it's time you did!

 

I'm no great theoriser myself, so thank you, all the "elders" - like someone said before me - for so many great posts and discussions, even if I didn't participate in them myself. You remind me of my roommate; he is polish as well and worries about a language barrier. You both are much more pleasant to listen to and easier to understand than a lot of people who only speak english.
