The question on my m(y)nd is what ol' Runner's motivation was in doing this. Was it a random notion? A carefully laid plan? A pot riling scheme? An effort to vet a teammate? All of the above?

Anyway, regarding math, Mynd's case is the classic example of the gambler's fallacy. Building a case on EP and saying that he must be scum just because he hasn't been scum in a lot of other games is flat out wrong. He may indeed be scum, but this case relies on nothing more than chance, and has nothing to do with the way he's posted in this game. And I'm certain Mynd knows that. And yet there's two people that followed him onto that train after he voted EP: BG and Nyn.

 

BG has unvoted, Nyn has not. My vote stays put for the time being.

 

Mynd, I sort of get what you're getting at. Or at least, I think I do.

 

Compared to random day 1 votes... I suppose this plan is better than nothing. Aka it looks like it makes for better odds at nabbing scum with zero information. So I'm willing to give it a go. Later into the game, though, it's not really something I'd roll with as my lone reasoning. As in, I'd need more information integrated into it to cast my vote.

 

But right now it does the trick.

People keep saying over and over how Mynd is claiming that EP HAS to be scum, when he never actually did that. He just said that the likelihood is higher.

 

Day 1 votes are random anyhow because we have nothing to go by. Sure, we can try and analyze Mynd for his suggestion and everyone's reaction to it, but to me it doesn't really say much at this point. It's something I can look back into later into the game when I try to connect the dots.

 

I don't see any reason to change my vote at current. Plus EP's calm reaction is making me suspicious.

I do not think that mynds theory was malicious in purpose, merely misguided and suspicious for trying to justify a random vote. I am wary of BG for attempting to justify it further.

 

But, BG has removed his vote, and nyn hasn't. She maintains a vote on EP because "someone has to go anyway".

That isn't the reason I'm keeping my vote where it is. Yes, someone does need to go but I do think Mynd's theory has some validity to it. And the odds of us getting someone via that seems better to me on day 1, rather than simply closing my eyes and picking a name from the list.

Kae, I keep mean ing to post something about it but my meds are really strong and aggravates my add. Gonna post just the blunt truth in spoilers, but lets not spam the thread.

I have an ovarian cyst that is measuring 8x8x5 cm that is currently smothering both of them. For comparison, anything more than two is considered extremely painful. It is quite possibly the worst pain I have ever felt and it is getting worse.

I will try again in the morning to fill in more details.

About the Mynd thing, I'm getting the feeling that he might be saying this crap to see who bites....I think it's a stupid theory, and I don't think Mynd himself believes it. Bit meta, but there it is.

I think all of you getting too hung up on Mith's Math are completely missing the point. It's just a starting place. Although..it would have looked much better if he provided a list to choose from like he talked about instead of focusing on EP.

 

Providing a list..then discussing who to pressure would seem more town. Picking EP straight up is slightly suspicious, considering he said we should come up with a list.

 

Then if we were to follow his method we should not only pick someone who hasn't been mafia lately but who is also somewhat new. To increase the chances by HIS math.
