pretty sure I'm at least a 4 - 6 man myself, (tho most of those were a long time ago) and will probly reread the whole thing only once more, after every last installment has come out and enough decades have gone by for me to have significantly forgotten much of what happens (ie old age / retirement). btw let me know if you think the choices should be different, and / or post here with any elaborations you might have

I've re-read the earlier books around 10 times with a decreasing amount for the later books starting at WH. Have only read ToM once. Will do a complete re-read before aMoL comes out and then will probably continue my pattern of re-reading the series when the mood strikes every 2 to 3 years.

I've reread books 1-11 around 4-6 times (probably), but I've only read TGS once or twice and TOM once. I plan to at least reread TGS and TOM before AMOL comes out. And I'll probably end up rereading the series many times in the future, since I love to read and it's one of my favorites series.

I began reading the series when there were six or so already published; and with each new release I have reread the series and continue to do so with the last one. I will probably also reread the series every so often after it is completed; since it is one of my favourites (or perhaps my favourite)

I've read the series 8 times already, or I've read TEotW-WH 8, CoT and NS 7, KoD 6, TGS 2, and ToM 1. I really do have them memorized which is why I took a break from rereading them this year so I could read other stuff, plus I had to reread Malazan to prep for TCG and reread ASoIaF to prep for ADwD. I plan on reading the whole series many, many, many more times in my life. I love this series, and that's not going to end just because it's finished. I've read LotR probably 7 or 8 times. WoT's my favorite and I love coming back to it.

I'd say that I've gone through about 6 full re-reads. I'm in the middle of one right now, which I plan to incorporate AMoL into. Then... maybe one more full read-through and I'm done.

WoT is one of the series I turn to when I'm bored and don't want to invest effort into a new book. It's kind of like putting a movie on for the ambient noise. I know them well enough now that I can pick up any book at any chapter and know exactly what's going on.

 

My re-reads tend to follow various plot lines rather than cover-to-cover for any specific book. I've definitely re-read the later books more frequently, though. While waiting for new books made the later plot threads painful, I find they hold up better when read all in one piece. For example, Perrin's Faile hunt arc doesn't actually take very long to read through when it isn't spread out over 10-12 years.

I've read the whole series once. I am currently in the middle of my first re-read (currently in chapter 52 of The Fires of Heaven) I plan to finish Towers of Midnight by the time A Memory of Light comes out in the spring if I heard correctly.

The first ones (with the exception of TEOTW), around 20 times or, and then a falling scale from there.

TEOTW being an exception because I don't have it. I stopped buying it after having given away 4 or 5 copies to people I thought should start reading the series. I will buy it again when it gets re-released as a nice hardcover with a nice cover (ie the UK cover).

I have bought many a copy of TEOTW for the same exact reason...and though I have lost many, I think I have 3 copies at the moment (not counting ebooks). One of them is in the hands of a friend, but he's not going anywhere.

I don't want to say "way more than six", but I read each book before the next one is due to come out. So the first few have been read a good ten times now, but the later ones only a few times. Its a lot of fun, re-reading them, picking up on things I never noticed before that tie later things together! And revisiting much loved characters... Love love love this series! :-)

 

I started it 16 years ago and I wouldn't be surprised if I'm still doing re-reads in another 20 years.

When it comes to certain characters, and by that I mean the one, the only, the Prince of the Ravens, and the luckiest man in the wooooooorrrrrrrllllllldddddddd......Maaaaaaatriiiiiiiiimmmmmmmm Cauuuuuuuthooooooon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've read (or better sad re-listen) at least, at least 30 times, without any exaggerations. I just love the guy that much ! I actually got to the point now that not only I can quote some of the passages but I'm actually trying to mach Michael Kramer's intonation and all. Yep, as my wife says it is border-lining on obsessive but I just can't help it.

I've read book 1 - 6 about 8 times, and the rest up to TGS about 4 times each. TGS and ToM twice. Will do a full reread before AMoL comes out, and then periodically through the years!

I've read all the books once, and was doing a re-read and got up to Lord of Chaos when A Dance with Dragons came out and stopped my re-read. Now I re-read ASOIAF before I continue with WoT...

 

But yes, I'm planning to finish that re-read, someday.

I've been reading the series since I was about 8 years old, that makes it about 13 years now. I have no idea how many times I've read and re-read the series since I tend to finish the series and then immediately start re-reading it. But I have no intention of stopping any time soon, the WoT has been something that's been around quite literally longer than I have and I don't know what I'm going to do once it's all over.

I've read books 1-11 (and NS and World of WoT) about 4 times in the little over 4 years I have been a WoT fan and I've read TGS and ToM once each. I am currently on my 5th re-read which includes New Spring and the World of WoT (at a speed of 1 book a month, because I also read one other book per month).

As for the future, I'll probably complete the series every 2 years for the rest of my life...I seriously doubt that it will EVER get old

whoa no wonder you guys know so much about this series. that's pretty funny those who mentioned having to buy tEotW over again because they loaned it to someone, I'm in that boat too. a long time ago I started talking with this friend about what kind of fantasy we read, I ended up loaning him tEotW, and he loaned me stephen king's the dark tower book 1, whatever it was called (the gunslinger I think). and the whole time I was suffering my way through it I just kept thinking "how could anyone possibly compare the glory of WoT to this crap? he's just making it up as he goes along!" ok, so I understand the dark tower gets a lot better or something towards the end buuut...personally I only made it through the first one and a quarter books, and I was done. not much of a king fan (at least not anymore), actually I vastly prefer the B movie adaptations

 

anyone else had to re-buy tEotW cuz you loaned it out and never got it back?

I have only read the whole series two or three times but I have read some of the books more times. I often choose one plot line to follow. Recently I have read all the forsaken POVs and before that I read all Rand chapters. Next time I will focus on the asha´mans. I have very bad memory so I could probably read the books over and over and still be surprised.

I started reading WoT in about 1992 and have read the earlier books more time than i can remember at the least it would be about 15 times for books 1 through 9, and going down in reads since then. I have only read ToM once so far and TGS three times.

 

This series is my favourite and it never gets old - i will be re-reading until i can read no more.

I've read them through twice all the way. But, the first four I've read about six times. I plan a complete reread at the end of the year, or later depending on release date for aMoL. I have the first 11 in paperback, and all 13 plus NS on my Kindle.

I suppose after aMoL is released I'll do a reread maybe once every 18 mths or two years. I don't think I'll stop reading them due to no new material.
