Town needed more teamwork. The unexpected shutting off of role purchases left my team with keyholder dead and Alanna vanilla. I was wide open for kill once I had to reveal which blind post was mine. I was hoping the vamps would believe I was a dud and there was another oracle out there but I think they saw through that.

So, JohnM played the hardest, and he won for it, plain and simple. He worked at scumhunting, and then he changed gears and worked at deception.

Wombat's use of the Oracle would have turned a few things around had he not been killed.

The original Vamp team did wind up in trouble, especially after the Fast game wiped out JLM and Verbal - and, that game ended as soon as all of the vamps were dead, with or without "confirming" the others.

Anyone, vamp or werewolf, that was recruited lost their role powers, but still kept the point loss.

The werewolves were pivotal, as every time they recruited, they essentially killed a Townie in terms of numbers of town vs. numbers of vamps. I gave a lot of clues to this, but in the end, Vambram did save the town an extra day by using the one-time relic.

Wombat is right - if folks had worked together a bit more and been more creative with role uses, it could have turned out differently.

For me, I would have liked to have seen more casing and more activity from several players.

Maybe it´s just me but I think it would be boring to sign up for a game and then just post a few times. Mafia is about winning but also about having fun.

I think our team - me, Christine and Amegakure - could have played this game better but I think we did our best considering that neither of us have been in this kind of game before and both me and Christine are new to mafia.

It was good that I had recently played in JLM´s game and knew how to play a fast game. We did a good job on that side of the door.

*still mad that noone listened to me about Berf*

Was a really fun game regardless. I almost want Wes to run it again right now LOL.

I'm moving into the editing portion of the new book, so my free time is about to evaporate. But, if anyone else wants to mod it, I'm happy to help out setting up and answering questions.

I think half the fun of games like this is the surprise factor. I doubt it would be as much fun again unless there were new twists added.

I know RL interferes, but the inactivity from some players really did kill the town's chances.

I agree.

I never ever should have recruited anybody. That was one of the biggest mistakes I made that seriously hurt my chances, and the Town's chances at winning the game. I misunderstood what the results of recruiting would work against the Town. I did not know, until after I recruited Jack, that the player loses his role power after he or she was recruited.

But, I still enjoyed the game, and I will learn from this experience so that I will be a much better player the next time I am in one of DPR's mafia games.

I think we got overly paranoid all of us.

Yeah, I might've bought a role, but I hadn't realized it was going to shut off, and I was super busy the first couple of days anyway, so I missed my chance.

I agree the town needed more teamwork, but this was also difficult, being a conversion game. I mean, I didn't want to be very forthcoming with anyone, even Wombat, because I couldn't decide from one minute to the next if I trusted him or not.

That was so cool!

if anyone is interested, i am modding a Hale themed mafia over at Shayol Ghul. the link is part of my sig. sign-ups arent doing so well at the moment, i only have half the required amount of players.

Wes, what were the twists to the roles? Were they the same for everyone? I would love to see a detailed set up of one of your games - just to see how you lay it out, etc.

Well done John - in the end you had me hook, line and sinker. I had been going to vote for Lily - something didn't feel right with her, but in the end i trusted John *idiot* LMAO

Note to self - always go with your gut instinct - it's rarely wrong :/

I was town, and had no help with JLM, Blackhoof, Verbal or Nolder. I caught them the old fashioned way.

I knew the minute Lily was converted and that is when they decided to convert me.

I obviously did the math this morning, banked on Motlee spending at least 1-2 vote points on a power, and fibbed a little ;) about the LD result on her, figuring I could get at least 1 townie to vote her plus my vote, Berfs and Lilys.

Voila. I think Berfs decision to kill Christine was huge in endgame because it allowed me to manufacture a scenario where I could debunk any LD results from Tina, Motlee, Song or anyone else... making it possible for me to position myself as having the only LD left in the game.

Being devious is so much fun, fun, fun.... :)

Not to burst your bubble (well, yeah...I wanna, hehe), but you never caught me the "old fashioned way". I was town all the way up to hours before the fast game, at which point I was unable to post. So every post in the game from me was a townie one. JLM recruited me and then I died before getting a chance to switch gears and start playing as scum.

To Song: I was actually town the whole time in our QT, hehe. My suggestion of grabbing double-voters for all of us was based on a gameplan I was ironing out. I figured most people would spend big on flashy toys, and we could double-vote speed lynch anybody suspicious. Meh...I got recruited and killed before I has a chance to flesh out ideas to you & Leelou.

Great game Vamps!! I'm so glad you guys pulled it out after we lost so many in the first few days.

Verbal I'm sorry again I got you killed.

I shall have my revenge!!!

Verbal - when I realized it was a conversion game, I decided that you, Lily and Wombat were the 3 most likely conversion targets based on reputation. If you recall I asked who the notorious players were early on in the game, before the Fast Game.

I didn't need to see a single post from you to know that if you didn't start as a vamp, you would eventually become one. That is why you were on my list of 4. :)

Off the top of my head, the Cult Leader was only available to Vambram (though I would have charged you for it, and just kept giving you failed attempt results). The Cop only turned up Team results, which went hand-in-hand with the fact that I only told one team their city to start (Paris), and then made 2 teams Moscow (The clue would have been the seven teams altogether, with the mafia, and the fact that I only named 6 team names in the setup.)

There were others - I'll have to go back and look.

One of the things that I don't do well is document all of the setup stuff that I do on thread. I have tons (literally) of notes, pages and pages, that would have to be organized. Maybe for the next game, I'll make a point to detail it out - maybe I'll run that one sooner. It's the Spider Country game listed in the library - it's going to be creepy and awesome.

HOLD THE PHONE! Did the Ewok just call someone else hairy or a random animal?

Hehe....yep. I'm much sweeter, though.

Congratulations to you Vamps. I am still a little upset about you killing me off and not changing me instead.

Wow.

SO i picked the WRONG time to get sick. Roughly RIGHT AT THE FREAKIN ENDGAME. Sorry Vamps. Either way it turned out.

So yeah, don't trust berf is the message here. I'm quite amazed I survived the last two phases at all, I was at L-1 I'm pretty sure with my roles.

The Vig, enhanced, was so unbeleivably cool. My personal bodycount alone must be some sort of record. And then when I started just going after the people targetting me?

"Oh someone is obviously trying to FOS berf with these Vig Kills"

...MWUHAHAHAHAHA
