I still don't get what DPR was going on about. It was as easy as pie to see my post came later than Darthe's and DPR went on about it for days. It was one of the things that gave Ithi a ton of town cred and made her look really busy in the thread without needing to actually hunt wolves.

Now unfortunately, Darthe went ahead and spoiled the game for us before the game ended, so I can't say whether or not I would have sussed you out before the end game legitimately.

 

Even after Heavy was flipped, I still had my suspicions at one point about Dice, DPR, and Verb. Then ya'll got cocky and shot DPR and Verb! and then Darthe couldn't contain it anymore. Lmao.

Yeah it's a shame he told you all what was really going on. I was hoping to have at least a few of you clutching your pearls when the game ended lol

Oh, I totally get it. 

DM games for D&D, and you craft these stories/plots/traps for the players that they won't see for... months. And you just want to tell someone, but you can't tell the players. lol

At the time Darthe posted the quote that you used, it was still murky (to me anyway, maybe because I had long conversations about my role) and Darthe did come back after and say it was confusing. 
 

But more than that, it was your tone and approach that pinged me and I wish I had done a better job of explaining that. 
 

You had gone full-tilt emo on so many posts, and then you answered that one so succinctly and confidently that I thought that’s a big change in tone - how could he be so confident? 
 

By the time Ithi dug it up, it had been clarified again by Darthe and because I used specific terms in my suss, everyone got focused on those, making it possible for Ithi to exploit. 
 

@HeavyHalfMoonBlade I have a real question- was the emo real? Do you know that faux emo is a fairly common technique for scum to use in backing people off points they don’t want discussed?

Yes, I'm the real deal. I've never been anything but 100% sincere in any of the games. Which does make a lot of the comments about my personality cut rather close to the bone, lol. 

 

At times I have definitely felt like the little kid who finally gets to play with the bigger, cooler kids but no one passes them the ball and everyone makes fun of them, and if they complain they get told "it's only a game". 

 

There we have a fairly tragic window into my soul and my daily struggles with inadequacy. As I've mentioned before, it sucks to be me, lol.

Hopefully this can shed some light on things: you’ve come into the game at a point when a lot of us haven’t played or seen each other for years, so there’s gonna be a lot of nostalgia and maybe a lack of focus on new players. 
 

And knowing the history of emo as a technique should be comforting, at least I hope it is. 
 

And last, this is, at its core, a game about deception: spotting it and practicing it. Going into it with a rigid view of “village is good and wolves are bad” is like driving a car without shock absorbers. It’s gonna hurt lol. 
 

Take Ithi for instance - she seems nice when you talk to her day to day, but lurking inside is a completely evil super-villain that revels in torturing all of our mindsets. You gotta watch out for people like that! 🤣

Well, one of my goals for this game was to not "not get voted off" because of how much I was whining. I managed that and I solved the game, so I'm making progress at least. Maybe I need a "baby steps" siggie as well, lol.

Let it be said that my opinion was exactly that, my opinion. I didn't refute the option that I could be wrong. I never forced my opinion on anyone or tried to shove it down anyone's throat. Also unlike verb (lol) I really dont think I'm right all the time. I'm personally pretty pleased with my reads this game overall. It'll never be perfect otherwise it'll get boring.

 

Perfect example is that I really couldn't put heads or tails on reading heavy, ended up relying on players that had prior experience with him and we still ended up mislynching him. It's the risk you take when you rely on somone else's opinion *shrugs* but I'm not going to blame anyone for that.

 

I think there are a lot of factors that contributed to the scum win, not necessarily me being saved n1 that tipped the scales. My opinion of course.

I wasn't referring to you doing anything wrong.  I was stating since others had strong town reads on you they overweighted your opinion.  Marsh was obviously influenced by it in his last vote.

@Ironeyes - I'm hoping there's no ill will that I went after you on D1.  It was all to survive of course ;).

 

It can be difficult to not get upset when people don't believe you or are going after you in thread, but it's all a game and as far as I know, even with what looks like vitriol in thread, we are all friends/friendly outside of the game :).  We are playing a role after all!
