David was like my second highest town read when he claimed and I was at least leaning town on Lenlo after his argument with Snow.

 

Wasn't convinced Snow was a wolf by any stretch, but I was always lynching him D1 over either of those two.

Like at one point I had even thought about going Yolo and claiming Order because I was hopeful that their 2x investigative thing turned into a group power when they all joined the QT like with the demons.

 

Instead it was a day kill. Instantly outed and rekt

In the setup process, I gauged the chances to be high for a D1 Town lynch - that didn't pan out. I also figured the chance of reveals was low (specifically prohibited for some players) and that the Mafia would be conservative with kills N1.

 

But, after that, I counted on the Mafia to notice the number of people signaling, telling them that players had info. That and taking into account the limits of their own roles was intended to have them hit the Town hard on N2 and N3, significantly lessening the desire for the town to reveal until they saw the rate of kills slowing.

 

I've said before that this was always going to be a time-clock scenario - the Town was always going to figure out who was who and out the Mafia. It was a race to see who utilized limited roles the most effectively, and to see who crossed each other up.

 

There are a few tweaks to help this setup if it was ever going to be run again and I listed them on the bottom of the OP of the dead thread.

I'm curious as to what the optimum mafia strat would be?

 

Afaict currently every town has a claim that can be verified? Or am I missing something obvious? :unsure::blush::sad:

Mafia - Holster N1 to scope the game. By the end of D2, there should have be a reasonable number of targets that outed themselves and a high chance of recognizing the Symp.

 

N2 go for 5 (6) kills  & the same for N3. This also leaves a high chance to kill the Relic Bearers, Acolyte and Legionnaire.

 

By D4, over half of the game is dead. By D5, the Town recognizes that the kills have been used and uses their power of revealing to turn the tables. 

 

This is the strategy - it won't go down like that, but a variation could had accelerated and tightened the race a good bit.

 

Town - ultimately, the Town can and will vouch for each. The trick was to try and prevent at least one of the QT's from being formed so that they did not know each other and some confusion could've been sown.
