Was planning on doing a big WOT catch-up style post, but after reading ~30 something pages and seeing that I had less than 20 posts I wanted to actually comment on, I'll forego that and just take a big consciousness dump ITT. Most topics have been touched on and repeated enough that I don't feel the need to add anything - so I'll try to bring some fresh points to the thread.

 

Shad's joke vote on Seph early on reminds me of how he started in the Belichick game, which is cool considering our synergy in that one. I had some more of his stuff quoted in the queue before I wiped them all that I liked as well. His comments towards Hallia/wish-tree are pretty villagery and carry that sort of uncanny poise he has for a newer player. Good vibes from him thus far.

 

Wish-Tree strikes me as a Hallia.2 in the first few pages of the game. Don't know what that means yet but it's the impression I got, so there you have it.

 

Hallia and Nyn are passing the eyeball test so far. Halli's coming out strong against Kiv and I think her reaction to his whining is good in the sense that she's an emotive player and I would expect her to react that way to that sort of thing. Nyn's sharpness came out once she got past her intro catch-up. She's picking up on the details I think she would as town regarding Kiv's Pral vote, and the responses to Celeste/wish-tree are the amusingly blunt type we all know and love.

 

Wombat's OP at a glance makes me think the randomizing wasn't so good to him, more gut than anything. Wanna see him get more involved once things picked up more beyond the catch up style posts.

 

Zander/Seph/Laine seem to doing that townie circle jerk thing they like to do - we'll see how that progresses. Zander is easy going but I'll be looking for when he starts to make cases after our last game together where he got by a lot on being 'Zander'. Don't really have an opinion regarding Laine picking up Mynd's torch, the stance itself is null but we'll see where she goes with it. Not much about Seph stuck out to me beyond him reiterating a lot that he really likes wish-tree/Celeste.

 

Kivish slot giving me some troubles atm. I basically hate Kivam's approach this game, first with me and then later with Pral and the subsequent backtracking, but Mish feels pretty genuine with how she's reacting to things ITT. Wouldn't really have thought Mish would be the redeeming quality for them (no offense) but if they weren't paired I would support a Kiv wagon at this point.

 

 

I'm curious as to why your basis for reading him seems to have changed? Although given you now have several pages in ISO maybe I'm missing something obvious

I still think the point holds, but after doing much reading of the game yesterday/last night I got a bit swept up into Zanderism so to speak. Even with the knowledge of the Belichick game, I just find it hard to mistrust him most of the time.

I still think the point holds, but after doing much reading of the game yesterday/last night I got a bit swept up into Zanderism so to speak. Even with the knowledge of the Belichick game, I just find it hard to mistrust him most of the time.

Just fwiw, I don't even have an alignment opinion on Team Derp yet. My point was that Zander isn't the easy D1 read he used to be. But I get getting swept up in Zanderism[TM]. Dude's got chutzpah.

 

Also, remember how you told me we have plenty of time? Here we are. Page 97. MASSIVE wot posts all over the place. <20 hours left in the game. Maybe 25% of the game posting b/c DM weekends. Pretty much this. fwiw I'm probably overly wary about the type of 'I play my way' sort of thing from Zander as I remember feeling really mean after similar exchanges in Belichick :( from the iSO's I did of some of his previous games I think it's a null thing from him though.

Couldn't really say at this point from where I am, but I'll come back to this when I've finished my read through - whenever that may be.

 

Thus far what I've seen is pretty 'Zander' so to speak, but nothing stands out to me yet that I have issue with. The only slight issue with I have is with his hydra partner, Seph, and his early justification for saying Sili looked good.

What I liked about Zander was that he put up a couple of thought out posts. Normally hes kinda a oneliner guy unless he's yelling. Those posts showed me before he said it  that he is changing his game a little.

Lenlo, you said something about having previously mentioned AJ and Zander being good lunches.  I think Clov was asking you where the previous mention was.  I couldn't find it myself.  That being said, Razen's "case" on you looks more like semantics than scumhunting to me.

 

By previously, I meant previously in the same post. Not prior in the game. Once Clov explained that was the confusion, I realized I could have been clearer about it.

But seriously, how do you not have him town right now? What he's saying, how he's saying it, and his thought progression in thread is screaming town to me. Perhaps the only thing that's worrisome - knowing who he is lol - is that he is my strongest town read right now.

Because I really can't see any of the actives as very scummy. I actually can't see anyone who makes sense and isn't afraid of speaking their mind as scummy.

 

I also notice that scum tend to lurk a lot...so? This is a pretty weak reads list as I've already mentioned. I think that atm the conflicts among the active players are silly imo and that the real scum are taking advantage of the confusion. We have 20 players and a lot of those are fairly lurky.

This reads list looks pretty good from Pral. The stuff he talks about regarding his town reads makes sense from him with what I know of his playstyle. That said I'm not sure I would have Talya so high up at this point. After seeing how clean she was able to play in Belichick it'll take me a while to get a good bead on her.

I answered this one earlier for you, but I'd actually like to hear what your partner has to say about me.

 

waiting for my food order. That's why I qualified that statement. I think the only way Hally is likely scum is if she's scum with Corkey. I'm not saying it's irrefutable but it's like seph said, I haven't seen him be wrong on her even when I thought it was for spurious reasons.

The only of these reads I can't see you having at this point is Talya being one of your strongest townies and John Snow being your strongest mafia.  I didn't play British Monarchy with him, so can you explain what he was like there (and how it's different from what he's doing this game?)  Also not sure what you're seeing about Talya.  I'll take another look at her posts later but it seemed like she was kind of sitting in the middle on some issues and asking questions, but not really following up or introducing anything to the table.

 

I liked Clov's effort in making himself understood about his read on me when Yates asked for an explanation.

 

The bolded part I can agree with regarding Talya. I'm a little wary of her currently because of how she started to pick up Cory's "AJ is a wolf" thing and run with it. Reminds of how she handled Rand in the Belichick game when she was scum and shifted focus there once some townies in the thread were voicing concerns.

 

 

I can't read Lenlo, like at all. Whenever I try I get static.

 

I'm not loving him this game. The dance he's doing with key makes it seem like he's avoiding having to justify a read. Him piggybacking corys point about me after Cory had already acknowledge what I was getting at is pretty sketchy too.

 

Can agree with this regarding Lenlo - he's arguing phrasing with Key instead of actually substantiating his read.

Don't really agree with the bolded point. Kivam voting Pral for activity is probably null because I think he'd do that as either alignment. I don't think the action is exclusively townie because scum still need 'reasons' to vote/case people.

 

Plus voting inactives to get them to talk isn't really a hard angle to sell as scum.

 

From what I read from Talya's posts, it doesn't seem she is overly aggressive but at the same time questioning around trying to find inconsistencies. For example, posts like this and this which is straightforward and inquisitive. I have seen her play similarly as town before.

I have no idea what that was about Clov, lol. I think I mixed it up while formatting.

AJ's point was that he mentioned he is going to be busy. ANyway, he has given out detailed reads today. Yet to read them

Still something off WOmbat. Has been better today but there are a good number of unnecessary posts as if he wants to be seen as active.

 

John Snow and me had a lot of things going on in the BM game. He was a vanilla who made a gambit of claiming vig in D1 and I counter-claimed and so on. The thing is, he was actively looking for reactions, making posts just in order to gauge reactions and trying to bait others. I am not saying that he should gambit here too but that whole tone is missing here. His posts in this just seem like "Ok, I am here. These are my reads. He is who I think is scum", done. Not the aggressive JS that I saw in BM

 

This sounds like pretty good explanation for the read imo. I'm more null on JS currently because I don't know him well enough to say whether his attitude towards this game is villagery or not.

 

I don't necessarily agree with either of these reads, but I like Pral's depth in presenting them. So it's a good look for him, to say the least.

 

I do what I do because I want to. I usually try to kick off the game at the very start, no matter my alignment. My computer was broken, so I didn't get a chance to do that this game. 

 

I'm usually more active than this as both alignments, but it's a big game, I don't know a good chunk of the people, and I didn't get embroiled in the early action (which helps me get a better read for a game). 

 

I'll be rereading the thread a few times today, and I'll post an updated reads list.
