Not nessecarily; if this person has a role who gives them two votes i.e. then they can post one publicly and one on PM. I haven't heard of such a role, but I guess it exists.

 

Or possibly a role that, if someone votes them, a second vote will be generated for that person to use anonymously? I really don't know. It sucks though <.<

I am a town doublevoter. When I make a vote, it will count as two votes. It's just called an anonymous vote. You guys don't need to worry about it too much, unless I make a mistake and get you lynched too soon

Of course it doesn't. Balance in mafia games isn't that straightforward to say just because X role exists on the town side, that means mafia must have Y role to counteract it.

The thing is that a mafia doublevoter would be much more powerful than a town doublevoter, because they will be able to reach a majority faster. A town doublevoter isn't that strong of a role and will most likely get killed soon. Not to mention that people can get annoyed if they get lynched sooner than expected. Until I see evidence of a second anonymous vote then I will just assume that I'm the only one who can place two votes.
