When will yall learn? I don't do anything unless it's over the top, and in mafia doubly so. Methinks some out there are trying to big game hunt by taking me out so early. Womby and Nol might be executing a trap for all I know, and Crusher seems to be crushin on me (Is Ape dead yet?) but Maw's vote looked the most opportunistic and I thought the same thing about his trains comment before I realized he didn't say he liked competing trains. Guess he just likes to bandwagon.

Unvote, Vote Maw

Crusher loves him some Dynamic D. Seems Im not the only only one. LOL

This was where steampunk could have gone if the ICE hadn't gained such prominence.

Those creations were so very cool for their exposed artistic mechanicalness. Very stylistic yet functional at the same time.

Of the two bigger trains I think Des just sounds worse while Songstress' vote was worse. Hoof can do some crazy things on D1 but give him a chance to do them before you lynch(or insta-vig) him. I'm leaning that way but also would like a chance to wake up before I decide just yet.

Oh, btw Despo Big game hunting you?:biggrin:

Now that Hoofy's turned up and acknowledged my little (lame) joke, might as well Unvote.

Running to work, and I won't have a lot of time until late tonight to do a serious analysis. There are some questions in my mind on the Despo train... Maw's reasoning for voting Despo instead of me was actually a bit weak, if he didn't seriously have a preference one way or another it would have made more sense to equalize the trains.

Which is not to say I'd rather have more votes. But for now, this is the biggest question for me that can't be accounted for based on unfamiliar personalities.

Vote Maw

vote Verbal for not coloring his vote!

I know it has already been explained, but I've gotten used to only bolding my vote. Call it a side effect of playing most of my mafia on JN.

good catch

Indeed. ^_^

I'm not sure I understand who you are referring to here.....

A fevered imagination plots, carefully choosing what will later be understood as the action that started the war...

This is bugging me as well. Especially with who is on that Despo train. Just from seeing a couple of games, I'm definitely wary of the way that they all play.

Hm. Your joke and your backing off that quickly when people have been questioning it is interesting.

Bolded - that's the part that bothers me. Not the fact that he voted on a train. And that's what makes me want to Vote Maw.

Despo had inferred that his train was a result of folks "big game hunting" him if I read it correctly. It was a dig at him. I was gonna ask if he wanted Mynd's big hat.

Nice. Three competing trains, none with enough pressure to make anyone speak. I still think Wombat is a good way to go for his three-post call on Des, however, we need to pressure at least one person before deadline. With the weekend coming up, that should be accomplished today so there will still be time to change to another person if that becomes necessary. Because Wombat is calling Des scum and I do not trust Wombat, I am not going to vote the Des train. Songstress and Key both ditching their previous votes to call out Maw for "an opportunistic vote" looks opportunistic to me, frankly. We need 15 people to achieve a lynch. Why do both Key and Songstress believe that putting two people at three votes apiece makes more sense than putting one person at 4? The logic behind this "reason" for voting baffles me. It appears that Key does not want to vote for either of the leading vote getters, so she decided to jump on someone else entirely. Song followed suit on Maw, which also makes no sense as Des already had 4 votes and people have begun casing him. It appears to me that both Key and Songtress followed Despo's lead onto Maw in an attempt to raise another train. I don't like this, so I will not vote Maw and instead...

UNVOTE

VOTE SONGSTRESS

Before people start calling me out for a "contradiction" in this post, I want to make it clear that I do not trust Wombat, but that does not mean I trust Despo. With Key and Songstress following him onto Maw, I have suspicions about the three of them trying to shift the trains away from a scum. My choice of Songstress is because there is no conflict with my Wombat suspicion.

That is all.

Punctuation is SO important. It should have read...

hmmm

taking awhile to get a lynch eh?

I haven't reread but I wonder who keeps derailing the trains

It's day one, and we have until Monday, why are you in such a hurry to lynch someone?

Posted

This is so true @ Aemon. We are playing SteamPunk Mafia, and all of our posts should be beautifully phrased and punctuated.

Aemon's reasoning on Songstress seems sound. Of the three available trains there are - this is the one formed from thought and reasoning. Mr Hoof's was begun for comedic reasons allegedly and also it is always fun to picture the chagrine on his face when he fails to survive again, I can not legitimately use that as a reason for voting him.

Despo came out loud and brash. Despo is loud and brash. It means nothing to me, like a cymbal crashing about in a room full of shouting people. He would like to wear a big hat I think. He hides his actual reasoning behind this loudness I think, and if he is Town - I would not like to lose that ability at this early stage.

Songstress is an unknown to me, as I am to her. She already mentions me in despatches however. No doubt she finds my posts pleasing to the eye. A different level of spam perhaps. SteamPunk Spam.

Of the three I would be most willing to lose her at this point, because I do not know her well enough to see what level of participation and skill would go with her. Also - she appears to be new, and yet experienced and well known at the same time. She already has the 'in jokes' and is comfortable with them. It is possible she is being supported by a team, who may have also recommended me as a tiny FoS suggestion.

My only reservation with moving my vote to Songstress is that Verbal was first to vote for her and this does not sit well with me. I shall help to apply a little more pressure however and see where it takes us.

Unvote - Vote Songstress

Actually, I prefer to vote someone when I have reason so moving my vote wasn't opportunistic, it was moving it from a joke vote to a someone that I thought had acted oddly.

Bolded - Because Maw says in his "explanation" that he voted for Des because Songstress was voted for last. That is NOT the same reasoning as wanting to put someone ahead on a train.

Italics - I'll repeat that I prefer to vote for someone when I have a reason. I don't see a real reason to vote either Des or Songstress. The "reasons" people are voting for Des are "scum" (Wombat), "extreme swagger" (Crush), "I'd be ok with a Des lynch" (nolder), and Maw's "Songstress was voted for last". For Songstress, people are voting for her because of the "easy lynch candidate" vote on Hoof. Sorry, but I thought we were all joke voting our friends. It appears that Songstress has a history with Hoof, so I don't see the problem with her joke voting someone. Even Hoof.

Underlined - I can't speak for Songstress because I have no idea why she moved her vote, but I do believe I've explained my switch.

Second bolding - Seriously with that already? This reads almost like a contradiction itself. In the first line of your post, you talk about 3 not being enough to put any pressure on and then you talk about us trying to switch the train away from scum. If we *were* teammates, why would we do so so early? It would need about half a dozen more before it was worrisome. You're grasping at straws.

Second italics - Lastly, you keep mentioning that you're suspicious of Wombat specifically. Shouldn't you be suspicious of everyone? Sounds as if you are scum and are trying to get him lynched immediately so he can't see through you later in the game.

Sound the horns... DOOOT-DOO-DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Ape is here to party on Crusher's face and make him dead.
