Let me try and reiterate.

 

That was the hammer, this isn't a hammer game. I think Pete is on though. *Shrugs* Either way this will let me enjoy my vacation. I'll be on two quick topics to help from time to time. To reiterate and condense some things.

Just one point. I have been vocal all over OG and mafia games that I think metagaming is a valid strategy. Others don't. Fine. But don't tell me I shouldn't use techniques that work for me. That just ticks me off.

Besides, anyone who says they don't metagame is lying. Everyone does it to a certain extent, even if it's only subconscious. The only bad thing is when you vote for someone based solely on metagaming (like if I said, hmm, I'm getting town vibes from Lily in this game, but she's so tricky and often scum in other games that I'm going to vote for her ;D).

I remember you voting for me in a game because I had just tricked you in another game. You didn't trust me. We shouldn't trust anyone. I have played with Al Jenn before and honestly he plays mafia this way so it is hard to tell. He could be mafia or he could be telling the truth it is really hard to tell. I do use it with players who I have been on a mafia team with. Seen what fake claims they want to do and have used. I just don't trust anything you say Al Jenn.

 

Oh, and we shouldn't believe anyone. After all it is mafia and well no one should be trusted.

Lily I wasn't saying you shouldn't use metagaming. It is my primary means of figuring things out. People play how they will they don't play by the alignment or role they are given. So knowing the player is important.

 

What my intentions were is that using metagaming you shouldn't be voting for me. Simple enough. I said straight out that I'm not mafia and that I'm a townie. I won't harp or say anything more on that, but you know what that means.

 

Min you can play innocent all you want but the town will hopefully go after you three after my death.

 

Saying that. The hammer isn't final. You people can still stop this from happening. Change your vote or whatever I'm not dead until Pete says so.

This is why I don't think his technique always works, you will get reactions from townies as well as innocents, you just have to choose a certain button and they can bite, something you may know nothing about. Maybe get them on a bad day and they react differently. I don't think it's something that you should use on it's own and rely on it!
