Egwene. Just... everything about her. I don't get it. A character who's entire conflict in the latter half of the series is being the ON:Y CAPABLE PERSON SURROUNDED BY INEPT IDIOTS!!

Who's only weakness is that she's too selfless and noble. Oh no, none of her opponents are intelligent, we can't have that. She's a repressed misunderstood genius who's so much better and nicer than all the other disgustingly useless and jerkish Aes Sedai out there. How dare Elaida try to stomp down her perfect perfectness (not that she can since Elaida's breaking tactics have NO effect whatsoever)

Fans of Egwene, can anyone offer a manner in which I can tolerate this whole subplot? Because I don't think I can survive this with my saniy intact (probable hyperbole there)

I think you're meant to be infuriated by her. She isn't actually infallible and awesome--she's a child who's been raised to a position of extreme wealth and power. She's pretty competent in that position, but it's all gone to her head. She's largely forgotten her roots, and thinks she has to do everything.

For some of the other female characters (e.g. Nynaeve), the character arc has been somewhat the opposite: Nynaeve starts out thinking she knows best, better than all the rest (and she too was a child raised to a position of relative prestige and power), but throughout the series she... grows up.

but she isn't treated as wrong. She's RIGHT about everything she says.

Nynaeve is annoying. The book knows she's annoying and has fun with it. Making her not annoying. Egwene has yet to be wrong and for the book to punish her for it in any real way. Again, her only character flaw so far as Amyrlin is being too wonderful (which got her captured)

in the prequel, Lan's horse was Cat Dancer; in the main series, Mandarb.  are those 2 horses the same horse or 2 different horses?  If same, when (and why) did the name change?  If different, when did he get Mandarb and what happened to Cat Dancer?

in the prequel, Moiraine's horse was Arrow; in the main series, Aldieb.  are those 2 horses the same horse or 2 different horses?  If same, when (and why) did the name change?  If different, when did she get Aldieb and what happened to Arrow?

Thats a very long time for a horse, trust me. They either died or were too old to be of use. Also considering who their riders were it probably didn't help their life expectancy's much.

 She's largely forgotten her roots, and thinks she has to do everything.

In terms of forgetting her roots, it should be noted she is the only one of the 2Rs characters to keep a correspondence going via letters and refused to be married without her parents present keeping with 2Rs custom.

Ah yes, so that's one more flaw she doesn't have.

last questions::

The people last at the Eye know that it is gone.  They told one other person.

Does anyone else know or gotten rumors of that?  if so, who and through what means and by whom?

Adeleas and Vandene heard rumors of the Horn being found before Moiraine visited their house.

Who started those rumors?

When did Moiraine realize that Mordeth & Fain merged?

Lan told the Two Rivers folk that wolves hate trollocs and that trollocs hate wolves.

Did he get that info from Elyas or through some other means?  if some other means, how?  If Elyas, when?

When did Elyas become a wolfbrother?

At what point did Perrin get the yellow eyes?  likely sometime after meeting Elyas and sometime before entering the stedding.

Which language/languages do ogier names come from?

Great Hunt chapters 15 & 41; were those Ishamael encounters while Rand was awake or within dreams?

A previous question rephrased::

If a taveren is part of a warder bond as the warder and/or as the bond holder, could taveren effects happen at the location of the other person when the taveren is far away?

And similar with other types of person bonds?

other questions::

the books tell that cats and dogs could sense channeling; and that they have different reactions with saidin and saidar.  Is that all cats & dogs or just domesticated ones?

Also, does that include the True Power or is it just saidar & saidin?  If also True Power, what reaction do they have with it (if they have any reaction)?

We're not told. Presumably sometime during his travels, and possibly during his training as a soldier (although not all soldiers seem to know the trick, so...). Yeah.

Pretty good bet that he learned it when he learned the sword.

One has to remember that Tam was no ordinary soldier, he was a Blademaster who was freakin second in command of the famed Illianer Companions. He fought in 4 different wars (Whitecloak, 2 x Tear and the Aiel war) that was presented with the sword that ended up on Rand's hip by King Mattin Stepaneos himself.

Indeed. Although he still lucked out by meeting someone who knew the trick since, as I mentioned, it's not a trick every soldier seems to know. He got himself into some pretty exclusive company somehow.

In Fires of Heaven, Morgase decided to go to Amadicia after not finding Gareth Bryne at Kore Springs.

How come she seemed to not attempt to find his whereabouts? or the whereabouts of her supporters?

In Lord of Chaos Prologue, Morgase is told about "Gaebril" being dead.

Did she attempt to escape and/or attempt to get word to elsewhere?  If not on either, why not?

If escape, which methods and how far did she get?  If word to elsewhere, to where/whom and through which means and what was the message and did it get to the destination?

Lord of Chaos Chapter 9; Pedron Niall guessed that Omerna believed everything and that Balwer believed nothing.  Were those right?

How long were each of those 3 Whitecloaks?  And how long did they have their last respective title?

with a warder bond, both of them can tell the direction of the other.  when close, the exact direction; when far, the general direction.  Within which distance range does that change?

Seems to be generic knowledge among the Borderlanders. He is also a Warder.

At what point did Perrin get the yellow eyes?  likely sometime after meeting Elyas and sometime before entering the stedding.

Seems to be, yes.  He definitely has them by the time he is rescued from the Whitecloaks.

Great Hunt chapters 15 & 41; were those Ishamael encounters while Rand was awake or within dreams?

They are either within the Dreamworld or within a "Dreamshard". It's deliberately not confirmed within the text.

It seems the presence of Aes Sedai actually domesticates the cats. I believe this is confirmed in one of the Salidar chapters. Ishmael/Moridin is the only TP user we know of, and he seems to have an affinity for rats.

Could a female Hero become pregnant between spinnings? (telaranrhiod or when the Horn calls)

Good question. You can't eat while in the dream, so it stands to reason that you probably can't get pregnant.

She's told that he went off after some barn burners and thieves. She didn't know which way he went, and it was unlikely she could catch up to him.

Many times in this series, Illusion was used on humans; and Rand seemed to do something similar on a niche (Crown of Swords chapter 33).

On how many things can Illusion be used on?

And are there limits besides the One Power on to what Illusion could change to?  If so, what are those limits?

As far as I recall, most swords and daggers in this series are to be curved.  How come there seem to be no double-edged ones?

some members of this site told that they like/liked characters of the Shadow.

"Halima" is an alias of the character; actual name is Arangar.  The Compulsion she does on Egwene seems to affect just Egwene's expressed opinions of the Oath Rod.

Well I know Rand often thought about being able to see every detail on every leaf or something along those lines, so I'd have to give it to the strong channelers.

questions rephrased::

On what besides humans can Illusion be used on?

If the maximum amount of usable One Power was used in Illusion, how different could the target become?

Why there seems to be no double-edged swords/daggers in this series?

hypothetical situation:

1.  a person enters Telaranrhiod physically.

2.  the person uses imagination to change his/her appearance.

3.  the person exits Telaranrhiod without changing back.

Would the changes remain or be undone?

1. Illusion is a matter of skill, not of power, I believe? So if you're clumsy with the power, you're likely to have a poor illusion.

2. The changes would be undone. Egwene removes her bruises from meeting her Toh to the Aiel for lying to them about being an Aes Sedai while travelling to Salidar via T'A'R. The bruises come back the moment she steps back through the gateway into the real world.

I think the closest we get to this is with Moghedian in TAR.

First when she tried to change Nyn into a horse, she said that the change would be permanent and that every time Moggy brought Nyn back, Nyn would be a horse, implication being only in TAR. Second when she changed Birgette into a child. Although neither time lasted out of TAR, so can't be sure.

And as Magicana said above with Eggs bruises

As we saw with Moghi, a lot of what happens in TAR is if you accept it happening like she did with the collar being put on her.  Also as we have seen a lot of what Moghi did in TAr was with the power.  She was going to use compulsion on Ny to get her to be a horse everytime she came into TAR.  Against a truly skilled person like a dream walker most of what Mggi tried would of failed since she relied on the power to get things done in TAR.

What is the maximum difference possible with Illusion?

Other questions::

Sometime after visiting Caemlyn's Palace in Winter's Heart, Rand went to Far Madding.  Were there any other places in between those two visits?  If so, where and when?

Through what means did Fain enter Far Madding?  and how did he escape?
