Who is the child or dwarf adult ishameal is escortimg around the table?

I looked at that image a million times while making that image.

I was thinking she was a lady leaning back in a chair talking to Ishy, as he was out of his chair.

I guess there are 12 chairs, and 13 people.

Interesting.

'm bigger than my body

I'm bigger than my ______

I'm bigger than this world"

can someone tell me what's the word I can't understand? thanks

Song lyrics as they appear  in the trailer (there were some words or humming intermixed in the trailer where they'd singe a single word and stop so I wasn't able to parse what the word was and didn't include it here)
I'm bigger than my body
I'm meaner than my demons
I'm bigger than these bones
I'm bigger than my body
And all the kids cried out, "Please stop, you're scaring me"
I can't help this awful energy
Who is in control?

"Control" By Halsey, from the Album Badlands.

You may be right.  I did frame by frame then backed it.  Only about 4 to 6 frames but sure looked like someone walking.  Especially when lauren on Unraveling brightened it up.

Did Matt's weapon ( I can't remember the name) from the books have blades on the end?  Could he have gotten the weapon without the trip to the Aiel?

Lauren on Unraveling the Pattern has great slowed and frame by frame analysis that i think is about 95 % correct.

I was going to hit him up too, but thanks for making that point, Guire!

Oooh ... will you post here if you remember who?

I was quite impressed with the trailer. I loved all of it but especially certain beats such as the following:

1. Rand and Logain

2. Perrin and Hopper

3. Egwene being awesome

4. Nyneave's test

5. Rand and Siuan Sanche! Best ending lines EVER 😄

Loved the trailer!  Saw more moments from tGH than I expected honestly.  Favourite moment was the Rand and Logain meet and greet or Egwene's protective shield as Elayne runs away.

More questions.  What city do we think Rand and Logain are in having their bathrob, hungover, continental breakfast?

Big question.  Flaming sword piercing myrdrall appears to be in hand of largish gray headed man(possible cloak)?  Features from side dont appear to be Rand.  Sword seems almost like real sword covered in flammable material.  Steve maybe?😆

Sword over Rands shoulder as he walks out to confront Seanchan in Falme(?) Has a sigil on swotd hilt.  Symbol might be heron or dragon.  Different sword than Tams? In perfect place to burn symbol if we get Twice and twice.

I'll give my ideas here.

I think Rand and Logain are meeting in Carhien.  I suspect Suian makes the trip there with Logain as a variation of the False Dragon Tours from Eye of the World.

Flaming Sword guy:  My theory is Tomas, Verin's warder, this scene might be a variation of the scene from tGH where the Drakhgar comes for Moiraine and Lan/Jaem save her.  Just swap the Drak for Fades and Jaem for Tomas.  I think I see weaves of fire around the action and I think maybe Verin is igniting Tomas' sword.

I am not sure if Rand's sword is different.  The Herons are certainly new but maybe they were underneath the handwrap previously?  I also loved the Kissing Heron buckle on his Chest strap in one of the images, I think it was near the end when talking with Suian.

I'm excited for season 2 looks like we start to get fancy jacket Rand and flaming sword Rand. That's going to be an interesting role because Rand can be a pretty intense guy but I like the actor and I think he can pull it off. When he snapped at Moraine in season one it was a nice flash of the intensity and here too. I dig how he just walked up on the Seanchan, raggedy Rand with his beat up cloak of hiding. This could also be a bit of a reach but hopefully Moiraine's quote about guiding Rand being the most important thing and him using the flaming sword means we will see some Lan lessons. I also think that may make sense if they go with Lan being a teacher for Rand, Thom being a teacher for Mat and Elyas being a teacher for Perrin rather than having Lan and Thom train everyone each character has a distinct mentor, I feel like it ended up this way in the books so may as well just start it out this way.

It's going to be tough to do Perrin and the wolves but I don't mind the way they are approaching it. I think it would be cool if instead of words they show images and sounds kind of how they described it in the book. Like the wolf didn't say their name was dapple it was the way sunlight shined through the leaves in a quiet forest, just show that as a series of images and the sound of a peaceful forest as they communicate. You can't get complex ideas across this way but I think that was what Perrin was dealing with in the books too. I think I would like this type of approach more than a voice over and they have been doing some similar things with the flashes in the dreams so this would be pretty similar to how they are showing dreams.

Ishy and the Seanchan is interesting but in the books he did have a lot to do with Seanchan becoming what they were so I think this is a good way to show it without a lot of time to get into all of the backstory. I really like the actor for Ishy and I just liked how when he was channeling it looked like he was meditating it kind of reminded me of the void or oneness. They mention in the books that Aes Sedai did a lot of hand waving that wasn't needed so it would be cool if the forsaken are a lot more efficient in their channeling because they are more experienced.

Also looked like an Aiel kicking a Fade in the face which is pretty cool I wonder if that is the scene with Avi and Aiel surrounding the fade hitting their shields, that was one of my favorite scenes in the book. Mat I'm kind of nervous about just because I think the first guy did about a perfect job and I think Mat is hard to get right but we'll see I do think they have done a great job with casting so I'm optimistic. Overall I thought it looked good and I'm definitely getting excited, started rewatching season 1.

Pretty sure its Lan kicking Fade in face.  Avhienda in other scene is kicking lots of whitecloaks.

Imegine the scene.

Perrin and a wolf stare at each other. Then random images start passing in front of the screen.

I think it would be extremely confusing, and would not be appreciated

Small "thought bubbles" forming above them while they stare at each other

I guess the way I would imagine it is Perrin would vocalize his question and you would get the response from the wolves as a series of images. I really don't want them to do voice overs because I can't see a way that doesn't just remind me of all of the animal with voice movies like Dr. Dolittle so I personally don't think that would work well. If they just stare at each other I like that marginally better than a voice over but that's going to get pretty old and redundant quickly.

As to the sequence of images following each other they are already doing this with some of the dream sequences and there is a strong tie between the wolves and the dream world in the book so if there is a similarity to the dreams and the way the wolves communicate I think that actually works well.

Matt’s Ashandarei has a blade at one end that is described as being similar to a short sword. It can be used as a spear, but also had potential to be used for slashing like a glaive. Matt uses it like a couched lance while on horseback during the last battle, but we also know that his proficiency with a quarter staff transfers to use with this weapon at least somewhat. It probably is used in a way similar to a naginata while on foot.

The spear in trailer may have ravens carved on it someone noted from a previous screen shot.  In trailer with minimum detail on just a few frames it almost looks like a diy spear and less like the almost ceremonial power wrought ashandarei spear from books.  Blade in trailer is large enough for ashandarei spear but sort of looks like its lashed into split shaft.  Who knows how weapons will be handled.  Not much to go by based on season 1.

Where are the ravens?  I can barely see the spear.  It just looks like a flash as Matt uses it in a downward thrust.  It might even be a quarterstaff.  Although, I hope it isn't a quarterstaff since Matt's internal dialog during the quarterstaff fight with some princes specifically notes that thrusts with a quarterstaff can be fatal and should never be used during a training session.

There is a still of Mat somewhere out there holding what looks like a staff with possibly ravens carved into wood.  It is a lighter color wood and in image top is out of picture so possibly a spear. Ill try and find it.  In trailer if you pause and then advance and back using period and comma you can see what looks like about 12 inch blade single sided like a naginata.  Lots of motion blur so tough to see much more. Its 1:58 on youtube video.

My thoughts:

Round table scene = darkfriend social

Mat spear shot = sparring with Gawyn/Galad

I talked a lot of smack on S1 but I'm still pretty hyped to watch 🙂

There's not much in the Season 2 trailer that grabbed me.

The music was not at all my bag.

There was much in the Season 2 trailer that, as Guire points out, leads me to believe that this show is purposefully continuing down the path set during Season 1.

Very uncertain if I'll bother watching any further, but interested to see how it's received. 🙂

I don’t think the music will be in the show. Seems like it was used more as a tone setter. The tone seems to be leaning into the horror/thriller aspects, which would be a smart way to go, tone wise.

The VFX of the weaves are much improved and the visuals are still top notch. The costuming also looks good. I’m not sure what’s not to like from a visual standpoint.

As for “purposefully continuing down  the path set during season 1” can you elaborate? What “path” did season one go down? And how does the trailer demonstrate that S2 will continue following that path?
