She didn't.

For the record that was a generic statement on the subjectiveness of sub discussion as a game compromise, not a reference to this particular game. I.e. I don't think there should be an across-the-board policy consequence but I think there should be a warning in the rules moving forward.

I want to read it first because I'm hyper-paranoid about hurting people's feelings most of the time and I don't think I said anything besides what I just mentioned but I might have.

lol, rereading our QT I actually said that if AJ flipped wolf instead of SK it spewed Lenlo town.

wtf got screwed up in my head to think Lenlo was his partner post-flip?

Pretty happy with my game upon reading it tbh.

Never really lost focus from a winning scenario until Iron subbed in + Believer started intentionally acting scummy.

and @ Lenlo I'm actually a lot more descriptive about my thoughts on your slot in there than I ever was in thread, if you're still curious.

Well aside from calling Dice a villager, but SK kindly helped me out on resolving that issue.

Yeah I think if Dice hadn't been shot I might have blown the game.

I was tracking aside from N2 though.

SK definitely helped town balance wise. Also a combination of doc protecting correctly... and we basically earned at least one extra mislynch from that specific night alone.

I don't think Lenlo was being scummy, fwiw. He just didn't do enough to get himself out of the PoE, in my eyes. We felt the same about dice and Celeste. We felt like the POE would be one of those three.... along with Believer , who was also on our rader.... and ended up being our peek target. I'm separating him from the other three because, as opposed to them, he had sufficient content to form a read on but we were still very much going back and forth on him cause he had some good and bad stuff going for him.... but he was going to be at least semi resolved with our peek result (without counting the GF tinfoil I was opting to keep towards end game)... so overall we didn't do too bad. All the players we thought were townie ended up being town. Tiink and AJ we FoSed correctly towards mid-end d1.

To be fair, we didn't delve into SK hunting cause we died early and I always opt to deal with scum first.... but we had the SK in our PoE poll as it were. And we both pretty much let go of the notion that sili was scum after Tiink got owned. I just couldn't get over Tiink monopolizing his push on Cass.

Our peek target, if we had survived, was unfortunate due to his innocent child tendencies, but OH WELL lol   Can't win'em all.

It's also a good thing Halli decided to roll with moving from Sili to Tiink. I might have gotten stubborn if it was just me. I mean we were cool with lynching either, but I think mislynching on D1 would have had a huge impact on the game... so that was definitely something we struggled with. I guess I just sort of expect more OOMPH from Sili but at the same time... we all have some games that are just more low effort. It happens.

Believer played great. GG Shad you read me like a book. I thought Sili was for sure going to get lynched D1 and basically laid out my hand to try and spin things. Sorry team. Props to Dice and especially AJ for carrying on through the burnout even though it was looking pretty hopeless.

Hey guys, impartial 2 cents

Where I play/host there's a standard of not discussing substitutions, either your own, or someone else's, as well as a rule about not posting once you've decided to sub out, and we keep track of repeated sub-outs. That eliminates the damages that can occur to a game when someone decides to sub out, then continues to post in a way that takes advantage of the situation, or, it eliminates the discussion of why someone is subbing out, and most especially, why such a sub-out is actually alignment indicative, which is the worst way to damage the game's integrity. A single sub out or occasional sub out is simply remembered, not reacted to, but let's say three sub outs in a month or a pattern of behavior leads to being unable to sign up for future games for a while.

These kinds of ideas make it much easier on the game host who needs to make a decision about the slot. Be advised that it can lead to games being over due to modkill of the final scum, but, it may be preferable to the alternative. If the game host agrees that a modkill must occur when discussion of substitution for the purpose of reading someone's alignment or avoiding a lynch occurs, and does it every time regardless of that person's role or alignment, it puts an end to the idea of angleshooting via that method, intentional or not. Implementing those rules has made the player base much happier as a group. It allows the in-game discussion to remain in-game and not venture out into meatspace where it doesn't belong.

I hope I've phrased the above as neutrally and respectfully as I can, not assigning blame to any party or the game host. This situation can occur even when no one has any ill intentions. Sometimes it just happens. But we can proactively prevent it in the future.

I don't think it's be a harmful discussion to have at the very least. From skimming this looked liked a really enjoyable game that veered slightly off course but not enough that it wasn't still a good experience for the players. If Ironeyes had won that might be a different story, but the game did eventually end in the result it should have.

This community has held together so long because we have a playerbase that can retain new and visiting players because so many of you are a joy to play with. Increasing the expectation for general sportmanship I think would only benefit us if we keep it reasonable.

I'll organize my thoughts.

Pizza, we'll put. Didnt know you still hung around here.

My time has been quite divided recently, I don't play as often as I used to, and I'm in school. But, as this is Sooh's homesite and contains a ton of my mafia-playing friends, I always keep an eye out. Sooh and a couple other players mentioned things that, just from my experience on another site, I think has a workable solution.

One of the things you gotta watch out for on a site like DM, or my homesites of the org and cfc, is when your player base is roughly around the number that is needed to fill a game, even one issue going unaddressed can cause games to not fill. Stuff doesn't fill very often on my home site. I don't want something like that to happen to DM. It's a good group.

Bring them here. Let's fuse.
