I actually gotta agree with DPR on this one... But that is mostly because I find night talk to be very interesting as town; it shows who's around. It's nothing to solely base a case on, but I gotta admit that when someone I already feel suspicious about is online at night, it makes me pursue them a bit harder.

There's a fundamental difference between day talk and night talk. Day talk often carries votes and threat of lynch. Also, the mafia usually can't kill someone during the day to stop a case or sow WIFOM.

Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't remember Nolder mentioning anything about a 24 hour deadline until day broke, so how is the deadline relevant to your decision to FoS Des at night?

This is pedantic at best, and misleading at worst. Now you're drifting into explaining to us how the game is set up - as if you have any Town player would know if there are mafia day-kills or not in this game.

Night talk and day talk are the same.

And the 24 hour deadline just happened to support my point that talking at night can be a good thing. Look at what it's produced so far today - discussion and trails to follow when the info comes in.

I'm not loving the tunneling on this point - it'd be easy for you to use as meta-cover, along with trying to emulate a JN play style, which is also creepin' a bit. Makes me think Scumbat is in da house.

Pretty much explained my end - any questions BG?

Not right now. Still waiting to hear from Tina. Then maybe I'll have some for both ya'lls.

No I don't.

Vote: Darthe

He's the scummiest. His sheeping/buddying of Des was gross.

You are just playing on the penchant of people wanting darthe killed day 1.  You think it's an easy train.

Is this some kind of joke?  I haven't seen Darthe get lynched on this site unless he begs for it.  Here are the last three games I've played in on DM in which he has also played:

http://www.dragonmount.com/forums/topic/82400-merlin-mafia-advanced-town-wins/page-1

http://www.dragonmount.com/forums/topic/82058-lord-of-the-rings-mafia-advanced-mafia-town-wins/page-1

http://www.dragonmount.com/forums/topic/82002-ghost-mafia-3-out-of-33-survive-town-wins/page-1

Merlin Mafia: Doesn't get lynched until D6 and only after he all but declared himself scum.

LotR Mafia: Claims Miller D1 but barely manages to get himself lynched before deadline despite literally begging the town to lynch him.

Ghost Mafia: Gets lynched 9 phases into the game and only after his spectacularly terrible play bussing himself trying to save Ape.

Where are you getting Darthe being an easy lynch from?

I prefer pillow talk.

Coool! I LOOOVE pillow talk! Do you prefer feather down or those memory foam kind? I think I don't like real feather pillows because they always end up having a left over feather spine in them that pokes me at some point and I don't really want to pay the big bucks for a memory foam... so I just use my walmart pillows. In any case, my wife got one of those full body hugging pillows when she was pregnant. She used it for a while but it made her too hot. So she stopped using it. You know... when I was young I used to have the most awesome pillow. It was shaped like Super Mario and I took that thing everywhere. Eventually his arm fell off and the stuffing started coming out, which was a drag, but whatcha going to do? I even went through a time when I didn't even use a pillow. That's because when I was in middle school I only slept on a bean bag chair. Seriously, I had this San Francisco 49ers bean bag chair and I slept on that thing every night. It was a big high quality one too. Like the size of those Love Sacs you see at the mall. I wonder how durable those Love Sacs are over long term. I mean they are basically giant pillows. Okay, so they are made up of chunked up mattresses or whatever but I think that....

I'm pretty sure assuming that lynches occur exclusively during the day is pretty safe in most mafia games with "day" and "night" phases.

Also:

"as if you have any Town player would know if there are mafia day-kills or not in this game."

Looks like you were about to say "as if you have any idea" and then adjusted to a more uninformed majority type phrasing. Thanks for for confirming me as town with a Freudian slip, Scumlord.

I fail to see how that's a slip - I rephrased because I'm not actually trying to single you out or build a case against you. if I decide to, I won't beat around the bush with it.

I am, however, concerned with you trying to make a case out of it - your opinion about talking at night is just that - an opinion. I think it's stupid. You gotta be used to that from me by now, no?

Posted

If you weren't trying to single me out or case me, then why did you continue that post with accusations of tunneling, meta-covering, and emulating a JN playstyle and finally cap it off with your favorite scum diminutive for me?

And just because something is an opinion doesn't mean it's truth value is unknowable. I have come to my opinion through experience in successfully rolefishing and manipulating people who talk too much at night. You can WIFOM or deceive the mafia with night talk, but it's super risky. Most of the time it's best to shut up unless you really need to toss the dice.

I talked at night. I based my vote on Despo because of his answer. You jumped in and commented on that with your opinion. Then you went on and on (to the point where Peace cracked a joke about it), so i called you on tunneling because you were, well, tunneling. I mentioned the rest of your meta-covering and JN emulation because they're worth noting for future reference. I threw in my little pet name for you because your play strikes me as questionable.

What I didn't do is FOS you  - which you did to me with your first question - nor did I vote you or make a case against you. You're bringing the heat and then act like I'm attacking you. My vote is not on you (yet). I just think you're an idiot, which I will point out whenever it strikes me to do so. Even at night.

Seriously, you can't see the forest because your head is stuck up your butt at this point. You read me as Town all last game when I actually was scum, and I'm getting the feeling you've got a little complex about it. Hmmm?

You had it right the first time.

Actually, his edit is correct. Wait... he edited a post...

@ Kronos - what kind of reasons would there be to vote any of them without any gameplay to look at? What kind of reasons would there be to not vote any of them without any gameplay to look at?  Think about that for a second or two.

So why did you vote for Despo if there wasn't any gameplay to help you decide your vote on? Was your vote just meant to pressure Despo? And if so, what info do you expect to gain from Despo if the only thing you did was place a single vote on him?

And that pot keeps on stirring.

I'm more interested in hearing from others ATM. I know how I feel about most of those who have posted thus far (ill wait a bit to share, it's difficult on phone).
