Ok, so, I'm sure you guys read my post in the dead thread I was pissed at myself for letting Ape talk me down from his case lol, however Berf and Darthe who I pegged were both mafia as well, only one I didn't notice was RTE

Posted

That was a great game DPR!  Happy I got to do something more in the end, so lost in the beginning!

Posted

Lol thank you guys

I was lost until the very last day to be honest... I was stretched way too thin on amount of games; I probably should never have signed up.

Posted

At first I was annoyed with myself for making such a glaring mistake in the game thread... In hindsight I am pretty satisfied with Apes reaction.  Trololololo

I'm only laying it on thick because I know you can handle it... and because it's a great precursor to wrapping you in saran wrap and watching you turn blue.

HOW IN THE HELL are people still buying the CRAP that the Ape is selling? %$@#%$@#%$#% the dude has a reputation for a big time good player, and that reputation alone is the only bloody thing that has prevented him from being lynched after he was FLIR'd. If you ask me, John McLane's is not nearly as good a player as he or a lot of other people think he is. If you ask me, some players are far too easily influenced by other players.. especially if the one doing the influencing has a reputation as being a big time mafia player.

If the Town does not lynch John McLane, then the game is pretty much over in my opinion; especially now that Nolder was recruited and turned into one of the Possessed. Also, I would be willing to bet that Nolder is not pleased that he got recruited at this stage in the game after all of the work and time he put in the last couple of days to try to turn this game around in the Town's favor.

^^^^ I think Vambram wrote this?

This is damn near Dead Thread perfection. LOL

Oh yeah, I was a ghost all game basically. Recruited by Ithi on D1.

LOL and I owned this town... it took one of my own teammates to ruin me. If Darthe hadn't done that stupid "vote control" bullshit, we'd have lynched cloud (-1 town), then the next day lynched me (but we'd have shot another townie, -2 town), and then Darthe would have still been under the radar and not been an obvious lynch. Meaning Nolder, Darthe and Berf would have had more influence over further votes.

Pretty much NO chance town would have won.

Hand Darthe not nuked me with stupidity.

ROFL. Darthe's move was pretty terrible, but you weren't far behind. Next time man up and tell your team to bus you instead of trying to save yourself and giving town a roadmap to victory.

Mish and Kronos actually believing your BS should have pretty much confirmed them as town while Nolder trying to hedge with feigned inactivity and Darthe doing his vote control nonsense should have clearly outed them as scum.

Add in all the WIFOM you tried to sow for no reason and your endgame was crap.

CTM wouldn't have been caught dead pulling that kind of nonsense and he probably would have won if he'd been in your place.

Also, Nolder was the only one of you who was under the radar at that point.

I told them to bus me, and that if I was going to live I'd turn the town on my own. I was only trying to live 1 more day to get an extra townie killed. I played it just fine up until Darthe dumb move.

This is a disgraceful display of trolling you pimply little shit

Not trolling.  You told Berf to stay on you but told Nolder and Darthe to stay low.  That's not a bus.

Amazing game DPR, it's beauty was in it's simplicity.

My only complaint is that the FLIR views and Vig kills were only being given to town and was being used as a second way to confirm townies.

After FLIR views and mafia recruiting stopped the Vig kills should have stopped as well, it's not like the mafia had an extra advantage at that point so why did the town get one? As it's something the town had to puzzle out I'm not overly upset about it but...well they did figure it out and it did effect the game. Not the mention the fact that they were murdering us with them. Us...that brings me to my possession.

If anyone hasn't checked out the mafia QT yet I got possessed shortly before Ape was lynched. I was close to livid but quickly calmed down into sullen. Point is I was pretty damn upset. I put in a lot of work to turn towns game around (because at that point the only thing town had going for them was a few good FLIR views) and kept trying to get them back on track and just as that was starting to happen....I switched sides. I went from the losing team to the new losing team and that sucked. After Ape was lynched I took it as more of a challenge than a punishment though and got into my new role. My only regret about my gameplay is that it just wasn't good enough at the end to help my new team.

The vig kills weren't that bad.  It might have been best to reduce them to 1 per 48 hours after the recruiting stopped so that you could kill clears though.

I told Berf to stay on me, I told Nolder to do what felt natural to him and told Darthe not to fuck things up. Yeah, I needed him to lay low to give me time to win the townies over. If he didn't poke his head in, then he wouldn't have had to explain anything other than not being around until when he finally came in and voted me.

Instead, he did the vote control thing, and then urged people not to vote for me.

I'm not used to having to have to tell my whole scum team what to do. I usually just tell them do what feels natural, because anything else will ping. In a million years I never expected that idiocy from Darthe. I was setting up a circumstance where townies were going to save me, not my team, and my team would have been the ones with lingering votes on me.

Everything was going fine. Until Darthe nuked me, and himself in the process. He might as well have just revealed us both as scum. That's how idiotic his play was, and you telling me what a bus is or isn't on something that didn't even get the chance to play out borders on the same level of idiocy.

Stop talking out of your ass. I read that dead thread, you should be ashamed of yourself. Pig.

For the record, I thought you were the best player in this game. Best, most complete game I've seen you play... even with being converted, which at the time I submitted your name my thinking was you'd be the perfect recruit after me dying. You'd cased me the previous hour and my alignment would have made you look super townie. You were joining a team that was well positioned, even with me being FLIRed because I thought I could get the town to lynch one extra townie before me.

The impact Darthe's play had on the numbers scenario is what sent the scum team into a spiral. We went from a day where we could have lynched cloud and recruited you, delaying my lynch which would have been the next hour when we could have also shot a townie... to losing me, then losing darthe back-to-back.

Sorry, I thought I was rewarding your great town play, by bringing you into a very winnable situation.

Responding to things from the dead thread:

Nolder is a good guy to have as town during a conversion game. Scum tend to underestimate him. And that's doubly true for that damn dirty Ape. He's always going on about how well he thinks he reads Nolder.

The truth is, 90% of the time he does read me spot on. It's really annoying. And then it's doubly annoying that 10% of the time where he's wrong because he normally reads me so well.

Scum have a couple of the best players left in Nolder and Darthe, but neither of them is that good as scum.

I'm obvious scum, always have been.

Also, Berf's attempt at distancing from Ape was laughable. Not sure who will see it. That's where Crusher might be able to help. He's pretty good when he wants to be.

He really is. When he actually puts the time in to connect the dots he cuts to the heart of the matter pretty quick. That's why I was kind of trying to push his lynch without seeming like I was. I actually wanted him dead ASAP.

Ape is getting too cute with his WIFOM. It could end up biting him in the ass.

Yes and no. I still think it was a dumb move for town to test the WIFOM this late in the game. They just killed everyone Ape named. That could have seriously bit them in the ass in a different situation.

I think players who don't post a lot are often underrated. People assume that because they don't post frequently that they're not putting in effort. Some of my favorite players have been low volume posters. I'd rather read one analytical or insightful post than a whole page of some of the facile crap most players post.

You would say that. Disgusting.

Joking aside though your most analytically post that is DEAD ON and names everyone's roles with 100% accuracy doesn't mean a damn thing when no one is willing to give you any credit because you have less than 50 posts in a 100+ page game. Go ahead and scale that for smaller games but you get my point. Activity isn't just about spewing crap, which can happen regardless, it's about trying to signal your alignment to your allies.

Nolder is lining it up well. Bussing Darthe will get him decent town cred...It would probably be best for Nolder if he busses Berf after the Cloud lynch and tries to win at 3-way LyLo or 4-way MyLo.

I don't think anyone gave me any credit for ANY of the mafia lynches I was on the entire game. Bussing is overrated. And yeah I wasn't going to bus Berf. I felt there was enough doubt that we were either going to win together or lose together.

He's got the skill to do it, but the way Town is finally putting the pieces together will make it tough. I have to admit, I'm fairly surprised at how well they've been hunting the past two "hours."

Indeed. Now imagine if those jerks had done that "hours" ago. They would have won and I could have been with them.

Nolder will be tricky though. With all the work he's done, he can just lead town until they lynch everyone else.

NOPE! I really don't think I was getting any credit at the end. I was done in by hunches and guesswork, which ok whatever. I think anyone looking at the game logically instead of emotionally would have passed me by EXCEPT in the case if they came to the conclusion that the possibility and likelihood of me being recruited after viewing myself was too great.

What wasn't kosher about it? I'm really asking.

As said before it probably had zero effect on how Kaylee voted, but it did prompt her to vote where she otherwise might not have (again doubtful). It's more the principle of the thing than how it actually effected the game.

So how did this "town can lynch as often as they please" thing would work? It was referenced at a lot of places, btu I just don't get it.

It didn't, technically. Town struggled to achieve lynches all game so we never really got to see the mechanic of "lynch as often and as fast as you like" come into play.

That's ok man. I was a jerk at first but I fell into my role as a member of the scum team and I'll take my loss. Sorry I couldn't win it for us. Things did go from "ok" to "very bad" quickly though didn't they?

From my rereading of the thread, even without Darthe's play, I'm not convinced that town would have lynched Cloud over JohnMc. I think it could have gone either way, and we had yet to hear input from a number of the quieter townies.

Posted

There's no question Ape would have been lynched that day regardless of Darthe's play. Anyone who thinks otherwise is deluding himself.

Honestly there was a moment I had to catch up on since I was asleep where I really wasn't sure. Call me deluded if you want. I think the fact that he wasn't insta-lynched is proof that town had doubts.
