BG was at the library in the kids section with his son Lucas. They were looking for something suitable for him to read... but his son was more interested in playing with the train set in the corner. BG wondered when Libraries became kids community centers rather than a quiet place people went to read. BG started browsing the young teen section secretely looking for a copy of The Hunger Games (Don't Judge Me!)

 

As he perused the section, he saw something odd... there was a book by Robert Jordan in the Young Teen section. What was this? Was this some rare gem of a book he hadn't heard about... It was called From the Two Rivers. It's WoT related! Why didn't he know about this? He picked it up and looked at the cover... it didn't feel right... I mean WoT covers aren't really known to be the best in the world, but this one just didn't feel right. What was that sulfery cloud doing in busted up Persia?

 

He opened it up and started browsing and felt a sinking feeling... BG realized it was simply half of The Eye of the World... Seems it was split in two to "attract younger readers." Apparently they wanted to take a 14 book series and extend it into 15 or 16 (since they did the same for the Great Hunt). From the Two Rivers and To the Blight they called them, which honestly, couldn't they think of better names? Shame on the publishers. Did they think they could hide the fact that WoT books are actually quite long? I can't imagine this was RJ's idea, but whatever, more exposure is good right?

 

As BG thumbed through, he realized there was a new pro-prologue trying to lure us fans in with the promise of new info into the Two Rivers heroes backstory. Sounded promising. It was called Ravens... he sat down and read... but he learned nothing new. Its apparent it was only there to act as a cash grab. It was basically 12 year old versions of the Two Rivers folks and a Raven that stared at Egwene ominously the whole time. That was it. Not only that, but it steals the thunder of the masterful prologue that is already in place: Dragonmount. How dare you steal Dragonmount's glory? We don't need little kid versions of our heroes either. He grudgingly went to the nearest Barnes and Noble and bought the book, because he's a crazy WoT fan like that... but put a note on the remaining copies for future readers.

 

"Don't read this... go get the whole version, The Eye of the World. You'll be glad you did."

Hey guys sorry I didn't post that much yesterday, was busy with the family. GJ lynching another mafia tho!

 

Okay now that it's day, even if this brings stuff down on me, my first thoughts doing a first read thru, knowing Lily was mafia and Rand 1.0 was town. I'm suspicious of Ithi, because that big of dust up is always suspicious looking. Teammates trying a gambit?

 

Also Despo's play, cozying up to Ithi looks like maybe scum siding with a loud townie who is a good scum hunter to make himself look more town.

 

Whether either of those two are correct or not *shrug* but combined with Despo's voting pattern from yesterday I'm most strongly leaning towards him.

 

This made me laugh. Laugh hard. Cozy up to Ithi? I was prob the main one casing her yesterday lol. Good job trying to cast suspicion on me and trying to save yourself tho

 

The JLM lynch is building too fast for my taste. Scum trying to push an easy townie lynch?

Ping. Everyone had already been discussing the fact that they were prob gonna vote for EP's replacement after his emo exeunt. Sounds like you were trying w/e you could do to stop the speedlynch from happening on your teammate.

 

Surprises me somewhat, but she def had started to throw out some more obvious scumtells towards the end, so it's not the biggest surprise..

 

bumping a few things to remind myself ... I'm wondering when you started to feel that Lily was more likely to be Mafia? She didn't really post for just about the whole day that led up to her lynch and you resolutely continued with your reasoning that she was not Mafia up until the point when she was, and then you were not surprised.

 

This is a curious post for me.

 

If you want me to I can go back and show you, but I had already started to express my doubt of a couple of things Lily had said, a little towards the end of when she had been posting. One was how she tried saying you were flailing and trying to redirect attention off yourself, when you hadn't had any to begin with, another was her dismissal of your case on her. Looked like she was quitting. I thought she might comeback and try to defend herself like she said she would, but she never did.

 

Kinda thinking you might be my next vote after JLM Kae.

Other things I am not happy with. Misheru's list of Joke Votes. I don't believe such a thing exists. All votes are placed for a reason and to have Joke Vote as an accepted fact just doesn't sit right with me.

 

Also ... I was pretty out of it last night, but i'm sure I remember someone saying they were a 3rd party and mentioning possible sympage. I think it was GF?

 

And Kae deciding that the JLM Lynch was building too fast, when previously she had agreed that EP flounced out probably because he was Mafia. JLM replaced EP.

 

I think I will get all of this stuff down now, and then wait and see if I was right about the EP thing.

 

To the bolded: I didn't expect the JLM lynch to happen quite that fast. I already mentioned I was busy yesterday, right after day started I tried laying a trap for mafia, but when I was catching up today I didn't see anyone go for it, and the speedlynch happened before I checked it again. I can tell you I would have voted JLM, but obviously you don't really have any reason to believe me.

LOL. Not voting at all today. It was a speedlynch! There were a number of people that didn't vote at all today, and obv there were very few unvotes. Either way, back atcha. You're the one who tried stalling JLM's lynch, and you softly pinged day 1, and you're now saying you will be voting for the person that JLM, known scum, was just trying to push a lynch on.

My vote on you was first when I begain to type it, however the inclusion of reasons and game related thoughts caused it to be ninja'd by Tiinker. It matters not, although do you think it a dubious vote because it was a second vote on you, or because I actually gave reasons thus making it clear that it was not a so called joke vote or just because it was a vote from me

 

Have you voted anyone yet? No? Too nervous to make an early vote incase someone twigs you are Mafia this early on in a game? Unless you have at some point and I just haven't noticed.

 

My my someone's overly aggressive this game. I had been about to put my vote on Mish for this quote right here:

Why are they weak reasons? You can't just say they're weak without explaining why. You were overdefensive, and Ithi (to me at least) seemed off her meta. Seems like pretty good reasons for day 1.

 

How does it matter if you've mentioned somebody elses name in your post? Bandwagon doesn't mean buddying up does it? Lily's vote was placed with 0 additional reasoning outside what anyone else has already said. I don't know why you're trying to point out that I'm "trumping weird things" when I haven't done anything far out of the ordinary.

 

Just because you think Lily's reasoning for her vote was similar to someone else's doesn't mean she's bandwagoning. She could have come to the same conclusions I did separately on her own. Now if she had just come out and said "Despo's case on Ithi makes sense" and voted Ithi, THEN you could say she was bandwagoning. She made no mention of anyone else's case but her own.

 

That's the kind of thing you are trumping up. Plus the fact that you voted me to begin with - you said it was to get reactions. Well placing a weird jokeish vote on someone to "get reactions" is also trumping stuff up.

I wouldn't agree that I was defending Lily hard. I just didn't like Tiink's reasoning there, since he was misusing the "bandwagon" concept. And he was pining me yesterday anyways.

So according to you, provided I'm not mentioning anyone's name in particular and have given the "I think this person has acting scummy" reasoning then it's not a bandwagon. So not true. How is my Day 1 vote anything other than to stir up a reaction and get the game rolling? The only reason it comes off as "weird" is cuz it's on you and not someone else.

 

I said her first vote was legit when you came in to post, clearly without having the rest of the thread, just for the sake of posting. A vote like that is fair enough. And then I said that the rest of her play wasn't particularly town like but not enough to warrant 5 votes before the deadline was even given.

 

I don't care if you have a diff definition of the word bandwagon, I'm just telling you what I see it as. I didn't personally see Lily's vote as a bandwagon vote. It's kind of like how some people accuse someone of an OMGUS vote, even when there is good reasoning behind the vote.

 

The reason your vote on me was weird was that you aren't one known for pot-stirring. If you were Red or Mynd or someone else like that, then it wouldn't have been weird at all. But no matter how you slice it, placing a random vote to stir things up IS trumping stuff up. You're literally causing reactions that wouldn't have been there without your vote, so that was another example of you trumping stuff up. The other being your apparent desire to keep redirecting discussion to Lily.

 

And I don't buy your scummy soft defense of Ithi.

 

And then Ithi turns around and says she got killed by a third party in her first game....I think I have whiplash from that 360.

 

Incidentally, that would be a 180. A 360 would be her going full circle to arrive at the same stance.

 

I'm def starting to lean more and more to a Tiinker vote, but I'm not quite ready to let up the pressure on Ithi. The fact that she has gone from ultra aggressive to meek and defensive still worries me.

Yeah, Ithi WAS pinging to me yesterday. Lily and Despo are so working together. Lily is still prodding votes my way. Despo is finding an alternative to switch to just in case. Rand's formulaic 'scummy scummy scummy' is still weak. What else do you want me to say? None of them will shift their votes unless it looks like they won't get a lynch through. It is all very entertaining to watch though. I have been reading the emails as they pop up on my phone.

 

This post doesn't really do anything to convince me to move my vote. You're playing the sympathy angle now and using desperation tactics to redirect attention onto others. I have shown my suspicions of Tiinker from the start, and I feel like Darthe has gone underground since I fos'd him. I'm not building up a case on someone at the last second.

As to that last line, that's the exact problem. Since you have gotten a lot of votes on you that's pretty much EXACTLY what you're doing, sitting back and simpering. And your posts have lost the confident scumhunting tone they had at the beginning of the game and are starting to sound more and more viperish.

Meh. It's true tho. People who know my meta as mafia know I bus first, ask questions later. I never would have connected myself that openly to a mafia teammate day 1, especially the GF, and someone who was getting a lot of attention. Ithi said as much herself.

 

I noticed that weird switch on Ithi as well. Plus, while his case on Rand wasn't bad, Rand is kind of an easy player to case tbh, since he gets defensive easily and is constantly speaking in wifom.

 

We know Rand is town, and Rand was the train that got pushed hard when Lily's train started rolling.

 

 

 

Tbh, don't take this the wrong way Ithi, but I found your case on Lily a little weak. It was mainly centered around the way she had come at you, and of course you would try to paint those kind of posts as scummy so as to make yourself look cleaner. You did make a couple of good points, such as the fact that she did seem to use the word scum a lot (which Wombat pointed out about Rand earlier), but a couple of other points were way off base. Your "pot vs. kettle" argument for instance, was really just wrong. Lily had given reasons for voting you, despite the fact that they might not have met your standards.

 

And Rand's last couple of posts stink to high heaven. He spends two WoT's casing Ithi, and there HAVE been some odd things about Ithi's behavior this game, only to then vote Lily (oh and btw he voted her in each of his WoT posts). Seems that he's making it seem like Lily or Ithi HAS to be scum, so that if Lily flips town he can then switch to Ithi easily tomorrow.

Oh and yes, I was in the Earthbound game, and yes, Ithi took out scum left and right, but that was all with her ABILITIES. I don't remember her leading tons of scum lynches in that game. Not trying to downplay her effectiveness that game, just saying that I wouldn't agree that she was nearly as aggressive scumhunting as she has been this game. Another game I saw her being fairly aggressive, but it wasn't right off the bat like this game, and she was a LD anyways, so it benefited her to pressure as many people and get statements from them to LD.

 

Oh and Turin why are you so sure of Ithi's alignment? You're attempting to use all kinds of meta to clear her, yet you don't really spend much time on the stuff that happened THIS game. I agree that she wasn't flailing all over the place like Lily said, but there have been other odd things of note about her play.

 

Ithi's train is failing, Lily's buidling, let's jump on another townie-train? Still trying hard to put Ithi in a negative light though.

 

That WAS scummy on Rand's part. Anyone who spends a whole long post casing someone, just to then vote for someone altogether diff at the end of the post always screams scum to me.

 

I forgot to mention, the other thing I still don't like about Ithi's play was the fact that her play has altered several times this game. Ultra-aggressive out of the gate, clammy and viperish when catching heat, then she started tunneling on Lily pretty hardcore, and lastly she now seems to be happy letting Turin fight her battles for her. I'm not 100% on her scumminess right now, but the fact that Turin is competely dismissing the odd things about Ithi this game makes me think he came in as a replacement for her teammate.

Well then. Looks like we kinda got the best of both worlds, we got the GF and got an alignment flip on Rand. Makes me feel a lot more at ease concerning Ithi.

Also it was graendal's friend. He said he had to stop wombat getting lynched and that now he won with Town, but he didn't know what he would get viewed as and mention something about a symp thing, but is a git to get all the way back to there on my phone.

 

Also - I really do play like this. Someone has recently described it as annoying but effective lol. I think I prefer Peace's description and even EP admitted I don't muck about on Day 1. I can't abide meaningless chatter. You haven't been around for a while - I did try and tell you.
