Where would you love to live?

My favorite is Fal Dara, because it's near Tarwin's Gap. A man there must always be alert, watchful and skilled with weapons. His only purpose is to fight the Shadowspawn. I think Borderlanders are honorable and true to their cause. Their cities are built to withstand many attacks and it's in their blood to fight when needed - just remember the first part of the "prologue: what the storm means" from TGS when a farmer (Renald Fanwar (fan of war?? )) and a blacksmith (Thulin) with their families go to join the army which is gathering somewhere to the north. They know their purpose and they don't flee from fighting.

I believe that it's better to live in that kind of environment although it's dangerous because of the vicinity of the Blight then to live somewhere southern (except in the Two Rivers ), for example in Cairhien and to get a knife in your back because of the daes dae'mar.

I would probably choose Caemlyn, I've always had a soft spot for Andor (I am a Tudor-lover in general, and the Andorans are very Tudor-ish), and I like big cities.

Tanchico sounds good. A decent warm climate, hilly terrain with bays and peninsulas, distinct architecture with white intricate buildings, lots of different districts, lots of cultural exchange because of trade and the fact that its a seaport, interesting exotic food, lots of history and museums with artifacts from earlier Ages.

 

Too bad it fell to the Seanchan, I could never live under their rule.

You'll probably go crazy because you must rush them to speak faster and to remind them to get to the point every five minutes. But nevertheless a Steading would be a fine place for contemplation or for writing a book or so.

I thought so myself a couple of times. Elyas is really good person with awesome Talent.

Two Rivers would probably have been a great place before the series started. I don't know which place fits the criteria after the start of the series - maybe Two Rivers then too?

Caemlin seems to be very beautiful, but I've never liked big cities especially with daes dae'mar players (with knifes) on every corner.

Tanchico seems a fine place for me too although it's big. Just imagine a couple of Borderlanders on excursion there. I couldn't live there though, just visit it.

I don't know man. I think I could never hang out with an Aes Sedai. They'd have me doing all sorts of work for them, and what would I get in return-not even a birthday cake.

Is it any wonder I pick Illian?

 

It is home to the largest port town in the (known) world. Its hot and swampy. Also, with the constant battling between the king and the nines - most people can get on with whatever they want - so it has a bit of a rough edge to it that I enjoy.

If you want cheap land, the Blight is the place to be.  Think of how much land the average Randland person could buy there.

I'd love to say Tar Valon, but its the Manhattan of Randland so the cost of living must be enormous, though Black Ajah aside its probably the safest city. I'd settle for living in one of its bridge towns though. One of the Eastern side towns, as there is probably a smaller chance of Whitecloaks making trouble. Also, just a mile away from Tar Valon.
