I hope its not Taim

I kind of hope it is.

Heh, reason I hope not is because if Taim has motivations, it pokes a bit of a hole in the whole Taim=Moridin thing, and I was like, the champion debater for Mazridin.

Then again thats probably why you hope he was talking about Taim hahaha

Guest Emu on the Loose

I bet it's Rand, who was always meant to be a side character but stole the spotlight for himself after listening to some Linkin Park on an ancient ter'angreal and deciding he wanted to angst his way into the Fourth Age history books!

Demandred's motivations are quite clear. he wants to kill LTT. its his wereabouts I wanna know more about.

I also think Alanna. reading aCoS again, i've taken up a liking for her.

Rand's 4th woman? the only one who doesn't get returned feelings?

Nah, shes the Forsakens way to make use the Warder bond against him. Otherwise one of the harem would need to come to harm. I reckon Alannas bond to Rand will play a big part in Moiraines role

I'm gonna throw Javindhra into the mix on this. Consider, from the KoD prologue...

"I can't see why Katerine would disobey your orders to keep her knowledge to herself, and you cannot believe Tarna is likely to put discredit on Elaida." Not publicly, at any rate. Tarna guarded her feelings on Elaida as carefully as a cat guarded a mousehole. "But sisters do get reports from their eyes-and-ears. We can't stop them learning what happened. I'm surprised it's taken this long."

"That's so," Javindhra added, smoothing her skirts. The angular woman wore no jewelry aside from the Great Serpent ring, and her dress was unadorned, and a red deep enough to appear near black. "Sooner or later, the facts will all come out if we work till our fingers bleed." Her mouth was so tight she seemed to be biting something, yet she sounded almost satisfied. Odd, that. She was Elaida's lapdog.

Javindhra had been vehemently against bonding Asha'man, horrified at the notion of Red sisters bonding anyone almost as much as at bonding men who could channel, yet now that the Highest had commanded it, she was stymied. Still, she found a way to argue against. "Elaida will never allow it," she muttered.

Tsutama's glittering eyes caught her gaze and held it. The bony woman swallowed audibly.

"Elaida will not know until it is too late, Javindhra. I hide her secrets-the disaster against the Black Tower, Dumai's Wells-as best I can because she was raised from the Red, but she is the Amyrlin Seat, of all Ajahs and none. That means she is no longer Red, and this is Ajah business, not hers." A dangerous

tone entered her voice. And she had not cursed once. That meant she was on the edge of open fury. "Do you disagree with me on this? Do you intend to inform Elaida despite my express wishes?"

"No, Highest," Javindhra replied quickly, then buried her face in her cup. Strangely, she seemed to be hiding a smile.

Pevara contented herself with shaking her head. If it had to be done, and she was certain it must, then clearly Elaida had to be kept in the dark. What did Javindhra have to smile about? Too many suspicions.

In the corridor outside, Javindhra muttered something about correspondence and rushed off down the white floor tiles marked with the red Flame of Tar Valon before Pevara could say a word.

Long-hidden makes me think it is something from before KoD.

I agree, someone like Taim is more likely *snerk*.

Heh. Nah I was just throwing it out there, and consider that KoD has been around for 6 years now. :)

I'd love if it were something insane like... Demandred's really a good guy and turned double agent in agreement with Lews Therin or something.

If I remember correctly from ToM, I thought Tarna and Javindra were both turned. If true that would be fairly obvious and Javindra would be useless because it was obvious to identify something wrong with Tarna

Even though she has been acting at odds with the group there is nothing physically to indicate she has been turned like Tarna, her suspicious behavior predates the BT by a good deal.

Brandon Sandersons tweet from earlier today went like this. "Back at work on #AMoL. May be the day to reveal a side-character's long-hidden motivations."

What do you guys think this means and who is he talking about do you think? I'm all in for it being Bashere

Taim.

I saw someone say Alanna. Interesting.

I don't think it's Verin

Unless Taim is revealed to be a secret goody goody two shoes, I don't think it fits. What kind of nastiness would reall be surprising from him, at this stage? My money is on someone Rand trusts, and Taim was never that. Sorilea would be a good fit. With Rand's newfound DF-detecting-Laservision, it's presumably not an actual DF in hiding. Not saying whether Sorilea is or not, now.

For my money Bashere is an excellent fit. Really, when you think about it... he came south to take Taim's head then hangs around doing Rand's bidding as if there wasn't another soul in the world with a claim on his time - even when it became obvious the Borderlanders had gone off gallivanting en masse, he stuck around instead of going to find out what was going on. If Saldaea was properly important to him, would he not have been seeking Tenobia out for an explanation? And I don't for one minute believe that man was afraid of her having him beheaded, it would take more than a stroppy niece to unsettle him. And Min saw something dark around him. Fishy fishy.
