The game just started Moon and you... lost track of it?

 

Hope you don't take this personal Moon, but I really wish your play was better than this, considering how long you've played mafia. Every game I play with you I end up thinking you're a Jester or something, cause it seems like you love trying to get yourself lynched.

 

Posts like these are completely unnecessary, unless it's been a really long time since you've checked back into the thread or something, and you're just letting us know you're trying to catch up. The fact that you apparently already "lost track of the game" greatly worries me. The fact that you don't address the multiple people commenting on your posts is even more troubling. You basically have only had one post this game where you took a stance on anything, and that was when you voted Aemon, which you then immediately retracted.

 

What gives?

 

Okay, so I unvoted Aemon. I saw that he'd posted again, and that satisfied my conditions of prodding him a little. I had not seen him around the game much. 

 

Yes, I've lost track. I haven't been able to focus on the game like I wanted to these past few days because I've had a lot going on. Plus, I only have one computer and Mr M has been hogging it. I try to avoid Phone Dragonmounting. 

And, no I really don't "love getting myself lynched" I'm just easily lost and confused sometimes.

 

I don't know if you've noticed, but mafia is actually a really hard game for me.(I may have a genius intellect, but the interactions within mafia kind of confuse me sometimes). It's not that hard for me to get lost. It's not something I talk about often here on Dragonmount, but I get in a brain fog (a nasty side effect of my chronic illness) when I'm stressed, and will often forget what I'm saying while I'm speaking. It's why I prefer writing to talking.

I play to try to challenge myself, to try to work around my brain fog, and yes, I do get challenged. 

 

Day one is hardest for me, especially because I don't have voting patterns to compare. 

I have almost no skill at picking scum tells, and when I find something I think is scummy, usually I find someone's already made mention of it and i look like I'm bandwagoning. I don't really like to repeat other's opinions. 

 

I generally just go with the attitude that everyone else is mafia, because I never really know who to trust. 

As far as not addressing the issues of people, many of them I haven't seen, and I've been choosing to ignore some of them because I think they're just trying to bait me. I've been told it's in my meta to get hyper-defensive when I'm scummy. And I'm just not gonna be that way.

Other thoughts: The Mish v. Pral thing is funny how they keep throwing accusations at one another but no votes. Wasn't that the whole basis of your argument in the first place Mish? Hallia is spamming a lot. I like Yates in this game although I think Darthe's bromo attempts are pretty blatant. I'm also curious as to the result of the dark green house's trigger being sprung. I thought there'd be blood

 

 

Because I still found Moon way more scummy. Did nobody else notice how she tried to use the fact that Darthe hadn't checked in yet as a scum tell? I was poking at Pral to see how he reacted, and he did not impress me, so he's up on my radar right under Moon.

 

 

Lol call it what you'd like and thanks for the tip I'm going off personal experience that I've had playing with him. It's fine that you don't agree, you can sheep your vote onto Cloud. Also, you say that you're not worried about him not showing up when you literally just talked about how him being gone from the game and posting elsewhere was troublesome. Why the contradiction? Distancing and then defending? That doesn't make much sense.

 

Speaking of prodding, you deserve some. Throwing around buzzwords on D1 already? Trying to discourage people from voting Cloud? Leelou explained her vote, she didn't just vote with no reason. By using words like "sheeping" for her vote, it makes it look like you're trying to make people think twice about voting Cloud more; if Leelo's vote was a sheep vote... Trying to protect a teammate? Or just buddying? Hmmm. You are more interesteting than either Pral or Moon even.

Ugh Lenlo. This seems to be your favorite thing to do as scum: try to make someone look bad by saying they're "creating wifom". If you're town, you definitely overuse that concept way too much amigo. Cloud didn't create any wifom, he just said something odd that had no real value in catching scum this game. I don't like that he did, and I think he's mafia, but you trying to say he's creating wifom pings to me.

Cloud's reasoning seems off this game and he's started off pushing an easy lynch. Granted, Moon has scummy behaviors, but from what I've seen she does every game and I think I might have to stick her in my Lily/Mish (always think they are scum) category and have to wait a few days to get a better read.

 

Has salami checked in since the start of day? I'm on my phone so I'll check for myself later, but if he has he's been awfully quiet.

 

NotBob has me slightly concerned, he's not playing for his usual drive to lynch Darthe for the betterment of town and he has an odd vote on Andrej.

First things first. You will notice that I'm less chatty this game. This is because I'm modifying my playstyle. I'll try to create more quality and less quantity. It's a work in progress, I've already tried to adjust my play in the DideHard game and I liked the results.

Several people have pointed out that I just post too much, to the point of being distracting. I place a high value on the opinion of most of those players. Also, I have seen some other players posting a lot in my recent games and I saw how distracting that could be indeed.

It seems that I don't like any of Moon's actions so far. First the unvote, then the confusion, then she gets all defensive and starts explaining her meta.

 

Cloud just seems to be Cloud for me. Strange ideas and/or at strange times. I don't find him scummy. I lean town on him.

 

Some things that stand out for me:

• RTE's meta-defense on Moon in this post. What's the point of bringing that up?
• This post of Tress pings. Nudging Moon's train, mentions Cloud as if she found him scummy too, but no voting.
• Pralaya's exchange with Cloud around here. See, he says Cloud is exploiting the Moon move by pushing her. But he doesn't vote Cloud or Moon (both would be logical from that point of view.
• NotBob, what do you fin scummy about Aemon's post here?

I like Leelou's and Yates' play so far. AJ is weird, I'm leaning town on him because his meta-based nonsense on me is just too bad.

I don't read too much into people FoSing me without a vote, especially this early in the game. It's just a little pressure to see how someone responds. Not Bob's vote on Cloud looks a bit more like bandwagoning than actual "I think he's scum". I know we have been discussing the reasoning behind why Cloud seems scummy, but just jumping in with a comment on why he's not voting Darthe and then a vote on Cloud seems off to me.

• You enter the topic.
• You click on the 'advanced search" button on the top right corner of the screen.
• Make sure to fill the "find author" field there and tick "display rsults as post" on the bottom

Not if you start from inside the topic (but from anywhere else I couldn't find a way to narrow the search down to a topic).

Ah ha!

 

So all you have to do is leave the search field blank and click on the magnifying glass.  You will receive the following error message:

 

"One or all of your search keywords were below 3 characters or you searched for words which are not allowed, such as 'html', 'img', etc, please increase the length of these search keywords or choose different keywords."

 

At that point fill in the "Find Author" field with the full name of the author [copy and paste works best].

 

Tick the radio button to display results AS POSTS.  Don't know why as topic list is default as it;s completely useless but whatever.  Then search now.

 

It sounds more complicated than it is.

I'm not exploiting Moon's position in the game; I'm scumhunting. I find it interesting that you are referring to my play as exploiting Moon's move, as this translates to you agreeing with us that Moon made a bad move, and yet you attack me instead of her. And not to mention that you are deliberately misinterpreting the second post of mine which you just quoted above. So what do you think about Moon's play so far?

 

Making a bad move is not the same as making a scummy move. I have seen her doing the same in other games. Even you, I believe. But, as I said, you got opportunistic and tried to exploit it
