My concern here is that tho Shad does read me very well as Town!Shad he will still have some posts the he wavers a bit on.  And he posts them so you can see him working through the read.  Even after hes stated hes very sure on me.  And a Town read D1 is common place from Shad on me, it still takes a little bit for it to come.

 

Look at Overwatch for an example.

 

Here he's just like he's Town and thats it.

It varies a lot from game to game.

 

Your push on Wifi at the beginning of Overwatch was super wolfy and it took me catching up to get over that. Wolf!Cory kept trying to shake my trust in my read of you and it made me reconsider a lot but I never had you out of my top 3 villagers after like page 30.

 

In Julius Caesar when you soft claimed I had you as obvious town even faster than I did in this game, and I never wavered from that once.

 

Lost I called you a villager pretty much straight out the gate and never backed off of that. Within a day of you resubbing into a wolf slot I was screaming for your head.

 

Dragon Reborn I wavered a bit.

 

It varies but this is hardly the first time I had you as solid villager early and stuck to it all game.

 

Bruh, this is exactly what I was talking about when I said the meta game was mad here and you guys play vs each other so much.

It's not that I have a better suggestion it's that I have a problem with approaching trying to solve a game from the perspective of " how do we not lose". Bad reason to push a lynch. I'd prefer dice tbh

He's played enough games of Mafia in this more intensive era to know that chatting about people's potential roles for a while and then dropping three town reads and two wolf reads without explanation is a one way ticket to the dead thread.

 

Villagers will vote that.  Wolves will vote that if you're a villager.  Wolves will vote that if you're a wolf and they have no faith in your ability to step it up.

 

Does it make him a wolf?  I have no idea.  I don't know if he'd dig in more as scum or go out in a puff of smoke.  I know that I'm not going to resolve his alignment without a flip or a peek at this rate.

Now I seem to remember a game, one of my more recent ones too, where I said a vote was total OMGUS and everyone said that was the wolfiest thing I could have said.  Here Hellian does it and its taken in stride.  Yes Hallia says its never pretty, but she doesn't go out of her way to say it's wolfy either.  Where if I had posted that and said it was OMGUS she would have been all over me?  What's the difference?  unless Hallia and Hellian are teammates? Maybe? possibly?

@ Wifi, a policy lynch is basically saying "if a player does x I will lynch that player regardless of their alignment".

 

It's the most anti-town thing in the universe, but some villagers love to do it.

 

Funny thing about Nolder's policy lynch self-voters stance is Nolder has a habit of self-voting.

Zass (Zander/Cass) - It's hard for me to imagine Zander as anything but town from his play so far. Of course that could just be because I wanna sheep him *shrugs* 

 

Hallia - I want to see more from. She does seem towny from what she's posted, but I know from experience she's good at appearing towny d1 as scum. So Town lean but that's about it. 

 

WIfi - seems her usual self. This is reassuring after the last game she came in and at first didn't know how to act, which for me was a bigger give away than most took it as. Most likely she's town here. Though the last game could have just taught her how to fake it better lol 

 

And it goes downhill from here lol. 

 

Darthe I'm just not sure about. I always have a hard time reading him though, mostly I think because he's slightly..... abrasive? That word will work.. *shrugs* 

 

Shad - Seems slightly defensive, but I've seen him do that as town so idk. It'd be an easy thing to do as scum to though so he's mostly null. 

 

Nolder - meh. He came in seemed to pick a bit of a fight and then said he was gonna put someone on ignore and I haven't seen a lot more out of him. Maybe he accidentally put the whole thread on ignore?? lol idk. 

 

Marsh - I don't think i'll ever be able to read him on D1. Or maybe ever... Both games I've played with him he's looked fairly similar and seemed scum, but last game I know he was town so maybe i'm just reading him wrong. 

 

Hellian - I don't know. He's new so I don't know how to take him yet. I'm currently reserving judgement because I think some of his stuff that "seems" scummy could just be from him being new and not knowing people and not knowing how to take different people, but could come from scum.

John Snow: Pops in, votes me for lame/unexplained reasons, disappears. Pingy for sure, and like I said before this reminds me of Scum!Clovdyx in the beginning of Demons Cove. He directed all of the attention toward me right from the start and not only gained towncred for it, but was able to keep the heat off of his lurky teammates. They won that game in part because of his calculated risk there.

On closer analysis these questions are easier to answer than I thought. I snipped the ones I already talked about, which leaves Zander/Cass, Nolder, and Believer. The latter two were just gut reads at the time, although since then Believer solidified my read on him with his vote-flip-flopping after I challenged him for leaving his first vote where it was. Nolder hasn't changed much. And Zander is the main reason I'm reading their Hydra as town. He seems normal and doesn't feel like he has any ulterior motives.

If I'm ever a wolf against you I'm going to get you mislynched. 

 

My head initially thought "wow that's a weak justification for saying you didn't need to explain yourself before", but the fact of the matter is he was thread consensus villager by then so in terms of your reads mattering you really didn't need to explain it.  Wolf might be a little more self-conscious to justify themselves initially anyway.

here we have darthe questioning tiink's post.  Now, yes it is the beginning of the post and there is a second half to it but I am going to ignore that second half for now  Darthe is saying that tiink's post can be a fake wolf post.  With that in mind, is the reason I did the paragraph above. [i forgot to copy both quotes together and color code them separately.  I forgot they played a role in interpreting each other ] I just knew that I had to pick apart the first one but not WHY.    so that being said:

I'd better pray you're never a wolf against me then! TBH I do in fact feel self conscious about explaining my gut reads, because since they're gut reads, I can't properly explain them. But since I play this game "in the moment," I can't always point to specific reasons why I feel one way or another about a player.

I want to see more from Hellian. I understand his rationale against Zander early game and don't mind it, but sticking to the narrow focus and only pushing that or defending himself isn't a good look.

 

AFAICT his game related posts have been:

 

- FoS Zander for high content

- Caveat/talk about watching player interactions (Ok, but no follow up besides questionning me for pressing Shad)

- Misc stuff about D1 being random and differences between sites and catching up etc

- Would look for wolves in high post/low cotent or low posters (Ok but generic)

- Non-current game talk about policy lynches/play as SK with Nolder

- Sees no case for Zander's vote of him

- Responds with reasonable comment/attitude to Dice's push of him

- Agrees with Nol's push at Shad for self vote

- Puts Shad Town - more content in his high post count (fair assessment), reading him as a hyperactive townie

- FoS at Zander for spamming up the thread, but chalks it up to too much time on Z's hands

- Votes Zander, for 'OMGUS'.

- Asks doesn't Shad find Zander wierd

- Questions me, suggests Shad's behaviour would be to OTT for Wolf

- Is sensitive/?shading that Zander may be mistaking him for Hallia

 

The bold's the posts that stick out to me. Overall it's very narrow/ignorant of the rest of the thread and based heavily on generic tells, which I find scummy and out of context with the way he started out ITT.

 

Specifically there's a decent amount of early fluff which I took for being eager to be involved but then it kind of peters down to only pushing Zander. He could just be a player that works through one slot that pings him at a time. He does differentiate between Zander and Shad for content in their high volume which could be Towny consideration but it's pretty thin when the post immediately before he agrees with Nol against Shad.

 

Happy with him in the WTL for now.
