After loosing Katniss, rage and despair had filled you, and fuelered your tired, malnourished bodies. You knew it was only Cato left, and he couldn't have gotten far yet. You'd taken the spear out of Katniss, and laid her to rest on the ground, gently, putting flowers in her hands and covering up her awful wound. Afterwards you'd left your backpacks under a bush, holstered what you had of weapons, and gone off to hunt down Cato. You all knew that when he was dead you'd all go back to being enemies; but the bond Katniss had made between you stayed as long as he was alive. The three of you were a sorry looking bunch now; Tresh, the big boy from 11, "Foxface", the girl from 5 who'd been very shy and doubtful to join the allicane at the start, but had suprised everyone by stepping up and taking a leaderrole, and the girl from District 9.

 

You'd expected a long day of slowly moving around, trying to locate him and bait him into a trap. But suddenly he was there in front of you. "You killed Katniss!" someone yelled. Cato tried to fool you, accusing one within your own ranks to have done it, that he was just trying to stay alive and keep away from the others. Nobody believed him. As one you ran toward him. He put up quite the fight, and all of you got wounded. In the end it was a numbers fight though. First it was Foxface who got in a good hit; slicing him with a knife behind the knee. Then Tresh came and punched him hard enough that he fell over. The girl from 9 came in last; sticking a knife into his heart. Cato slumped on the ground, mumbling incoherently. Slowly his eyes glazed over.

Kaylee, Cato, mafia goon turned 3rd party serial killer when one of the last 7 alive, has been lynched.

 

You all jumped at the sound of the cannon boom. For a few minutes you'd forgotten all about the Games, all about the audience. It was just about avenging a friend you'd lost. You all exchanged looks. Over Catos dead body, hands were stretched forward and clasped. Someone said "If any of you kill me, know that I forgive you. I will ask my family and loved ones to not have any hard feelings towards you. We have been through hell together, and I appreciate what we've done. I hope you'll think the same of me. Good luck my friends."

 

You felt tears running down your face and did nothing to hide it while you turning to walk away. "Let them all see!" you thought fiercly. "Maybe they can finally understand how horrible this is; that it isn't entertaintment; it's public torture and mass murder." The faces of the other two reflected the same thoughts.

 

You hadn't taken more that a couple of steps when a voice suddenly boomed through the arena. "Congratulations to the surviving tributes! You are all three winners this year! Please, gather at the Cornucopia, and we will come pick you up. I repeat: You are all three winners!"

Back in the Capitol, it took two days before someone filled you in on what happened, in quiet whispers during a celebration ceremony. When Katniss was killed, several districts had risen up in protest and rebelled. Capital was about to crumble, and the only thing that could settle down for the moment the rebels was the promise that the last three in Katniss' alliance would survive. It was still bubbling under the surface, and nobody knew what was gonna happen. It seemed like it wasn't only you Katniss had ignited with her spark. The introvert, sceptical girl from District 12 might have set in motions things that might change the entire world as you knew it now.

BTW I hope everyone appreciates the irony that BG was both the town and the mafia roleblocker in this game :laugh:

I was trying to convince TG or Dice to vote Razen for instant win when Via was still alive... Then Kaylee went off track and voted Via and I knew things would not end well.

Very nice game Mish!   I only regret that Kaylee's fiance was a little too free with his conversation when he assumed I was asleep in the next room.  But Razen did an admirable job picking up where I left off. :biggrin:

TG, were you tempted at all? You said you'd keep it in mind.

I thought myself tossing the dice, like 3456 winning and 12 perhaps losing. You could have thought town in so bad a state that for any hope you'd have to help. BG's obsession for the third party helped. That ah well
