Smiley Delved into the earth, searching for what had caused Rawryville to be created in the first place. He didn't have to go deep before he found what he had been looking for. Fossils, some of the most complete ones in existence. That fossil collection was what drew him here. Smiley had a dream, a deep burning desire to see the dinosaurs he so loved back, to have an entire legion of them under his command, but they were long dead, most perished into the dust he stood on. But a few, a precious few, were preserved under the earth waiting for someone with enough drive and ambition to bring them back to earth.

 

Smiley had spent the last few days around the city thinking about how he could use the bones to create a dinosaur legion for himself. It would take some new weaves to do, if anyone had found a way to manipulate bones they hadn't written it down. But Smiley thought he had found a way, you first needed to bind all the bones together, that was the easy part, the bones weren't actually bones, but were stones in the shape of bones, so that only needed a little strengthening. The real trouble was making it capable of following orders, that had been the problem on Smiley's mind the last few days, and now he was ready to test out his theory.

 

Using flows of earth Smiley began retrieving the dead dinosaurs, keeping their positions intact, he didn't want to spend ages rearranging bones. Once he had a couple dino's up on ground level he stepped back to take a look at what he had got.

 

He had intentionally chosen the best preserved bones of the lot, there was a triceratops with two of it's three horns present, an ankylosaur which had lost some of it's tail spikes and a T-rex which was missing the claws of it's left arm. Using more Earth he separated the bones from the surrounding earth, that wasn't difficult, the bones were made out of completely different material than the earth around them and the difference was easy to see while Delving. Then Smiley used flows of air to construct the creatures as they looked in life. This was a little tough because some of the bones had moved during fossilization so were out of place, but Smiley did as best as he could.

 

Now came the hard part. Using all 5 elements, but especially Spirit, Smiley constructed his rudimentary intelligence for the dinosaurs. It took hours of painstaking mental work to get it done and by the time that the last flow was laid Smiley was covered in sweat. A little nervously Smiley breathed in deeply and said to his three creations, "step forward". A few anxious seconds passed as Smiley waited. Then the bones in front of him creaked into action. As one they lifted a foot off the ground and moved it forward. Encouraged by this Smiley then commanded the dinosaurs to move their tails. They did, and the delay was shorter this time, his weave was working! He had managed to create a subservient conciousness! The people deserved to know of this discovery!

 

So Smiley jumped onto the T-Rex's back and shouted, "To the city!" and so his little group made their way towards the city where he would amaze these city-folk with his discovery. It would be amazing, they would throw flowers at his procession, they would have celebrations in his passing, this was one of the great discoveries of the Age! This was the beginning of so much more.

 

Smiley saw the townspeople run into their homes as he entered the city. They cowered now, but he knew that their curiosity would overcome their fear soon enough. He was marching through the city streets, parading his creations around before making his way to the city centre when he felt something change in his dinominion's minds. Something primal and instinctive was welling up in these creatures' minds. Smiley didn't know how, or where they were coming from, but maybe the bones carried something deeper inside them. Smiley watch this development, as the conciousness seemed to grow into these skeletal dinosaurs. He started seeing small movements that he didn't command, twitches of digits, a flick of a tail, the bones rising and falling as if the creature were still alive and breathing.

 

Then all of a sudden the T-Rex's mind attacked him, severing his control of it's actions. The T-Rex skeleton straightened it's back and let out a mighty RAWR and Smiley slipped off it's back and blacked out.

 

When Smiley came to the T-Rex was nowhere to be seen, his other tow dinominions, the anklyosaur and triceratops were close by though, trying to graze on some grass. The streets around Smiley were filled with broken pieces of wood and glass, it looked like the T-Rex had set out on a rampage. Smiley wondered what had gone wrong, the other two dinosaurs seemed fine, they were more autonomous, which Smiley didn't mind but they weren't openly violent or trying to remove his control over them. Maybe it was the fact that the T-rex was a predator, maybe it possessed a sharper mind, a stronger will power than these two. More testing would be needed here...

 

But not right now, Smiley had a village to save. He followed the path of destruction, hoping that he could find the T-Rex soon before it did too much damage. After a few minutes of running he found it tearing into a two story inn, the inhabitants of the inn scattering in all directions, but the dinosaur paid them no heed and continued tearing into the building.

 

Smiley threw a good sized rock at the beast's head, hoping to get it's attention. That part work fine, now he had to subdue it. His first idea was to restrain it with Air, but before he could complete his weave the T-Rex RAWRed and ran straight at him. Panicking, he tried to stop it but it had gathered too much momentum for him to stop. That was when Smiley thought of a plan so audacious it had to work.

 

Standing completely still Smiley waited for the T-Rex to lower it's head to pluck him from the ground, then he rolled forward and as the T-Rex's body passed above him he jumped, catching onto a rib. No he was inside the bony casing of the T-Rex and completely safe from it's attacks. The T-Rex seemed confused about this entire predicament, it didn't know exactly what it was feeling inside it and it could do nothing about it, what with its stubby arms and all. From his safe vantage point Smiley started deconstructing the dinosaur, undoing, the weaves that held the joints together, it was the fastest way to immobilise this thing while leaving it open to be studied further and used later.

 

Smiley started with the knees, lowering the rest of the body to the floor before they fell down, then he removed the arms, and femur and ribs until all the parts had been separated. Even though it had been isolated, the head still seemed to contain signs of a conciousness, subdued, but still present. Sending out a call to his other two dinominions he collected all the bones together and walked out of the wreckage of the city followed by a stack of T-Rex bones. He needed to do more testing...

You don't have to but only doing destroys 5 houses, so it is a benefit for you. More houses are destroyed if your technique is a good one.

Rand started to get to work on his own village. He saw his village and sighed, such a peaceful prosperous village. How sad. Well, he had a lot of work to do. He gathered all the villagers. He took half of them and told them that the other half had started turning evil and were going to harm that half. He took the other half aside and said the same thing. Then he waited as one side decided to act proactively, confirming the other half's fears. They went at each other and destroyed the village. Rand watched in amusement. It was so easy to destroy a village.
