Basing this on my knowledge of America from movies..

Men never need a cab apparantly.

Women always flash their private things for a truck driver at midnight.

how many % truth is that?

Last time I got a cab in Boston, I just stood at the corner of the sidewalk by the cab sign. If I'm not in the city, I'll call for one if needed. Generally, I drive or take the T (subway/transit in MA).

Lol, this made me laugh so hard, especially this for some reason.

Wow, my disciple, what movies dost thou watch?

Yeah, I have taken a cab maybe twice in my life?

it's a fine yellow chariot, only seen in new york... i quite miss cabs. nearly as cheap as the bus and noone icky except the driver and your chosen companions to annoy or fondle you.

In most of America, you have to call a cab by phone to arrange a pickup. In everything except the biggest cities, cabs just driving by usually have someone in them, or are on their way to another pickup.

I suppose it'd probably work though... :)

I think I've only used a cab a handful of times actually.

Definitely in NYC, a couple months ago in Boston and a few times to airports.

Don't even have yellow cabs in Wyoming.

We have a family that has a van that will pick you up for an exorbitant amount of money for a ride that would only take ten minutes to stumble

Cabs are always expensive, when at home or out of the way anywhere it is required to call one, but when downtown in whatever city a person can generally flag one down by waving at them when they drive by.
