Serious question: I've never gotten around to asking this, but I see it in the rules for many of the games I've been in. What is "gaming the mod"?

 

basically it is trying to glean information about roles, alignments, replacements and such by meta-gaming the mod.

 

if a mod always includes a cult for instance, it would be gaming the mod to assume that there is a cult in one of their games without any other evidence.

the other ones were far too campy

I just wasn't a regular viewer

SGA was cancelled before I could really give it a chance but it seemed pretty similar to SG1 in style and tone to me so I don't feel like I was missing out on much

Meh. Keller was never one of my favorite characters to begin with, and I don't really think her and Mckay worked. Loved that show though. Have all seasons of SG-1 and SGA on dvd. Some of my favorite shows ever. Never got to see SGU but heard it wasn't nearly as good.

Key's made a point of responding immediately to each of the votes on her... It's hard to define right now, but something about this doesn't sit right with me. A little defensive, perhaps? Mild ping... Key bears watching, especially if the train on her grows.

I'm curious where in the heck Hoof came up with this. It seems quite a stretch -- in fact, it seems like he was working pretty hard to come up with a justification to put a second vote on someone.

Both SG1 and SGA were superior to SGU. Tbh U was fine on its own, but it was different in style and tone to the originals which made fans angry. Pity the death of SGU has almost certainly signaled the death of the Stargate franchise.... :(

LOL, are you serious? a) why would I be defensive over a few votes on day one? 2) maybe it's just a day where I had some time to kill and z) I like looking for pictures of lolcats - tis fun.

I was actually looking back through and noticed much the same as what Songstress noted about Key. Key HAS felt a bit overly defensive compared to normal... mainly on the Mod vote and Soy's vote. It's just irking a bit so far, but I'll let is slide for now.

 

Moreso though I'm finding the SG conversation may be a purposeful distraction (but my 2 cents = Firefly > any SG series). Could be people are trying to derail the game to push towards deadline and get a quick pile on lynch without much to go on. So FoS people for that... (and also Basel and Nolder posted animals other than cats. Heresy! Only basement cat would use pigs and horny lizards to accomplish its evil plots).
