He made a case based on me agreeing with something Christine never said, something he lied about her saying. That's not semantics, its the fundamental premise of his case... and its what I'm trying to set the record straight on.

 

The reason I feel I have to be redundant is because posts like this - where rather than seeing the point of the discussion, it gets reduced to semantics and then becomes a lecture on manners.

 

There's no need for manners in mafia... its a game of lying, conniving and killing.

I looked at some of the past games played over there...they are definitely not nice to each other. I usually don't let the stuff said in game get to me too much, but I don't like when people get personally attacked - I'd rather just stick to the game, not bring external factors in, you know?

In any other circumstance I'd agree. But all if this is in good fun. The best mafia games are ones where half the thread is cracks on each others mothers and the other half cracks on each others sexuality. Once you've played enough, you'll never take it seriously afterwards. Ape and Ameg will be best friends once the games over. And for the bystanders it's just really, really funny.

FOR THOSE THAT DO NOT KNOW, that is the actor that plays Hodor in Game of Thrones, sitting upon The Iron Throne. Hodor is a Servant in the service of the Starks. He is a bit slow, but a very gentle and kind soul. He only says one word, which is Hodor, even though, as it turns out, it is not his name. However, everyone calls him Hodor.

My point. Was simply this... if you dont know who your team is and cant contact them...you only have a team based on words. To me that sounds like she doesnt have team mates.

I'll be the first to allow people should play mafia however they like (including flinging insults to make others mad IMO) but when you build a meta like that where you can just clear yourself it's more or less cheating

In any event, I've finally caught up with all the spam and the incessant sniping between Amega and Ape. Yes, I read and understood both of your points... pretty sure everyone in this thread knows where both of you stand now. I think I was just feeling tired and irritable while reading and analyzing posts the last few hours, so I'll decline to comment tonight on the validity of the argument because it's likely to be colored by my desire for it to stop.

 

I must admit I'm insanely curious now about Christine's character/faction. Interesting twist. I'll probably sit down and try to puzzle out more about the factions in the next few days.

 

It's been a stupidly long day, and I doubt I'll be coherent if I try to post anything more substantial tonight, unfortunately. Since it's night now with multiple killers on the loose, some of it may be pointless by the time day begins.

Well far be it for me to tell someone how to play. If you don't want to lie, don't. But I don't think that anyone should get upset that no one believes them. I know I personally approach the game from the angle of, everyone here is a liar or at least lying with the truth. Just because you don't lie very often is fine, but eventually you could lie, so I am going stick with the idea that every person in game is probably lying.

I'm always very defensive. I'm even more defensive when the person/people coming at me are lying. You can call it point of view all you want, you lied about what Christine said... and every time you explain how "I have a team and don't know who they are" is the same as having "no team" you sound more absurd, and full of shit. I interpreted what Christine said as what she said, you twisted shit around and like a dummy built a case on something that exists in your head only.

 

If you think a vote on me is makes sense because I am persistent in not letting you perpetuate a case based on a lie, then good for you. Vote me. It'll do nothing but continue to shine the light on your flawed logic and your lie.

I would say that you can't get in touch with them, but you have them. Which is a lot different than having NONE.

 

There's really no reason for me to put any further spin on what these statements "really mean". Which is why I consider statements, and read motives. Like I said earlier.

 

The most important thing I can say here is this: Having a team means you have a different win condition than not having a team. So you twisting the meaning of these statements really shines a light on your inability to understand this. Which is why I suggested she was playing like she had no team based on what she was trying to get us to agree to... perhaps a solo or cult win condition... begging for another night to possibly convert before she gets lynched on D3.

 

"I have a team" does not mean "I don't have a team."

 

I don't see any grey area in this. If you sincerely based your case on this because it makes sense to you, then I'm sorry but it's stupid. If you are twisting words to be divisive, then I'm not sorry for shoving it right back down your throat.
