Thinking of making an Aiel character

Thinking of making an Aiel character, but I'm not THAT proficient / interested in weapons, and I don't want yet another channelling one, so I thought what about a Roofmistress?

Any scope for someone like that here?

There are a number of roles you can play that are neither OP involved or Weapon involved. Roofmistress is only one of them. Other roles are: blacksmiths, miners, jewelry makers and weavers.

If you wish to work towards becoming a roofmistress, you can do that, though know that it will only be over one roof, not a hold. You could specialise your family (roof) in one of the crafts and become a lead figure in trade negotiations and such. You'd obviously be subject to your Clan Chief's needs, but even in that there should be some room for playing up the benefits of your family's talents.

Take a looksy at the website (roles and leadership under RP info). This should definately be possible.

When you've made your choice as to what character you wish to pursue, we can draft up a training schedule for you to follow that will lead him/her to the desired position :) I haven't made those yet for these side-positions, as not a lot of people choose these.

It would be nice to play a different kind of WoT character, and the Aiel philosophy of ji'toh fascinates me, since I'm from a culture and background where social niceties are quite formalised and strictly adhered to. The more I read about the Aiel, the more I realise how closely they are related in concept, if not in always in form.

  • 1 month later...

It's interesting, several years ago I had a Maiden, Calendhra of the Spine Ridge Miagoma Aiel... I don't recall RPing her much, but I wrote a couple of lengthy word documents on her. I'd say I'm as intimately familiar with Calendhra as I am with Jagen... I've had her in my heart and mind for ten years now... Mayhaps I should finally bring her back to DM... Hmm.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAY Lots of people as Aiel.

Ready.

Set.

GO!

Okay okay, I'll give you more time than that. I am writing up a bio for a Wise One so I would definitely welcome more friends.

Elgee, my Wise One was going to be a jewelry maker before she became a WO apprentice, maybe our characters could know each other through that if you do indeed do a jewelry person.

Jagen, you should totally bring her back! :-D

I just realized after I had posted that, I totally lost everything I wrote as her... I had a harddrive crash quite a few months back, and lost a ton of WoT files I had created, included pixelized characters of every mentioned AS, Aiel, Sea Folk, major characters... I made "maps" for cities, and even did a detailed one of the entire White Tower... this way I moved the little pieces around on a big "virtual Warhammer table" so I always kenw who was who and where they were... well, it's all gone now :( So is all of my fan writing... *sighs*

I will pick Calendhra up again though... and perhaps she can know your two characters?

What is the status of the Aiel in DM right now? Where are they and what are they doing?

Oh no! That totally sucks! I'm sorry to hear that hon! I had a similar experience - my first computer that I rped on died shortly after I stopped rping the first time so I lost EVERYTHING from when I rped before.

Yes yes! Pick her back up. Do you remember how old she was? Maybe you could make her the same age as my WO and they grew up together as friends?

...I have no idea what the status is right now *laughs*, so I'm trying to be vague as hell about that in my bio...

heehee okay :D I was going to make Calendhra around 23. She is a Maiden though in my fanfic she becomes a WO :p

Anyway, it turns out my files are still on the harddrive after all! However... I have no way to access them. Bleh. complicated tech problem. sigh.

But I may submit my bio soon.

I am hoping to be able to access my harddrive files within the next two weeks at the soonest. Perhaps even sooner, if I can get some of Mat's luck. Then I can submit a proper bio for her.

Also, I forgot our Dragon Reborn's name here at DM but he's active, right? Cause I wanna be one of the Maidens always guarding him :D Honor guard and all that... :P

The Dragon Reborn for the PSW is Jarron al'Tanin and yes, he's active in as much as the character's been included in various RPs over the years and recently in BT RPs. I don't think any one person has responsibility for RPing him but more that he's used when necessary like any NSW. Arath could confirm/deny that.

I'm sorry guys, but I really don't have time to RP at the moment. I'm swamped in a gazillion things that need to be done for the FL and to be honest, I'm starting to wonder if I'll ever be able to catch up and it's quite demoralizing. A lot has been done, but there's still so much that is left to do that I'm at the point of pulling out my hair.
