Vote Count

Pookie(1): L13

Pandy(4): Meesh, Nae, Jeran, Lily

L13(1): Hybrid

Lily(1): Pandy

Aust(1): Red

Bela(1): Aemon

No Vote (22): Pete, Wombat, Alys, Lia, JLM, Amadine, Bela, Verbal, Tigs, Pookie, Rose, MCS, Talya, Danya, Dae, Al Jenn, Crusher, Rey, Ed, Aust, Lavinya, Adella,

with it not being a hammer game i agree that there's no push for the voting like what Pandy is suggesting.  but i can also see where he's coming from with the deadlines being so short.

but in every game i've been in with Pandy, it's seems like normal for him to jump around on votes on to get reactions out of people.

Actually I see this being used as an excuse not to vote. We should all be voting and encouraged to vote. I would prefer to see someone lynched because of a majority than because the got the most votes, because everyone else was too lazy or just hiding to vote. This makes you look suspicious in my eyes.

Different isn't bad, Pandy, darling. I'll vote, but I don't think I need to vote with my "hello." Believe it or not, I've been too busy today to give this much thought. You seem a bit bloodthirsty to me, love. Luckily, my vote doesn't require much thought after that.

[glow=red,2,300]Pandy[/glow]

Really? Or was Jeran just defending you?

'Bloodthirsty' would imply that I want you dead; my vote at this stage at the game is of course simply to gain information, not from any sincere desire to see you dead just yet. If I were bloodthirsty, I would be doing something like hopping on the wagon with the most votes, right?  ;)

And hi Bella! Who're your scumbuddies?

The Pandy bit:

Hmmm Nae jumped in ahead of my, but I'll vote for [glow=red,2,300]pandy[/glow] anyway.

Pandy, you chose to ignore 2 things in your argument.

1)  Wombat also posted without voting and you didn't even mention him nor why Lily instead of Wombat.

2)  The rules state that the person with the most votes not necessarily the person with the majority will be lynched.

You sound like you are trying to manufacture a case against someone which means scum.

You have a good point, I noticed this as well when he latched onto Lily.

Hmmm. I didn't actually notice Wombat's posts, but I agree that he is just as bad as Lily.

Good point about the rules, but that doesn't mean that not voting is not scummy for all the usual reasons.

We don't even have 3 full pages yet, it's hard to miss something right now, and that is a bad excuse.

The Red bit:

with it not being a hammer game i agree that there's no push for the voting like what Pandy is suggesting.  but i can also see where he's coming from with the deadlines being so short.

but in every game i've been in with Pandy, it's seems like normal for him to jump around on votes on to get reactions out of people.

This seems like the counter of what Pandy is saying, the polar opposite even though you see his point as well. They ARE both valid points, but I'm already watching to see if you two might be on a team trying to lead the "crowd" one way or another.

At this point, Pandy's slip up seems a lot more scummy than Red's differeing opinion, so [glow=red,2,300]Vote Pandy[/glow].

Adella, you go from 'bad excuse' and 'slip up' to 'scummy' without quite explaining why and seemingly without due consideration. I understand why you consider my actions to not match up to the ideal, slow, methodical townie; yet it is a large jump from 'townie who focused on one person who did not vote' to 'mafioso who deliberately targeted one person'. I accept that you may be town wishing to judge my reaction to pressure, though the general tone of your post seems to me to indicate that you are more likely scum trying to get a wagon on an easy target. To indicate why, I shall first explain my observations of the game of mafia. These observations are the result of much playing of mafia - far too much, really, to be healthy.

Town wins by scumhunting - the process of finding mafia. Ideally, every townie should be doing this during the day to maximise their benefit to the town and therefore enhance their chances of winning. This involves voting for people, lynching people, and analysing reactions and behaviour of people involved in such. This is why I don't like it when people don't bother voting, especially given our 48 hour deadline.

Mafia win by devious manipulation of the town into mislynching, which they accomplish by pretending to scumhunt. Obviously, due to their alignment, they cannot actually scumhunt unless there are multiple teams of mafia in the game, and even then not very well. Since they cannot scumhunt, their play can at times be 'unnatural' as they try to fit in or steer the town (here we view scumhunting from another angle: the town's spotting of this unnatural behaviour leads to the mafia's downfall), and this - to get to the point - is what I fear that I see in Adella's play. She displays a lamentable lack of scumhunting and a regrettable surfeit of bandwagoning.

Woah, I hear you say! All this, Pandy, from a single vote? Aren't you moving a bit fast, becoming Mynd version II, stirring the grass to cut the snakes? Well... maybe. However, consider also her ridiculous accusation that Red and I are on the same team, trying to simultaneously lead the town in two different directions in the hope that one will stick - and this while she agrees that both Red and I have good points! Pah. Jeran - Lily - Adella. I'm calling it now.

Posted

Pandy I was gonna totally call you out on sounding like Mynd! :D

Anywhoo, wow, way to over react. I bet I would have earned an equally long post for having not voted. For now you are the most likely candidate in my mind as scum from what we have.

We also have a lot of people who need to check in and possibility for you to be pushed down my list. Don't get your panties in a bunch hun. ;)

Talya if you didn't notice i had a vote on there already and before i stated my opinion of the Pandy-wagon,  i voted Aust.  so it's not an excuse for not voting.

i'm just saying that Pandy's switching votes seems more like business as usual imo and isn't a good enough reason for me to switch my vote to him yet.

Pandy isn't playing the game any different from what he usually does, I don't think.

Also, [glow=red,2,300]vote: Lia[/glow] for the blatant bandwagoning.

Posted

[glow=red,3,200]barm[/glow] because i feel driven to vote him every game and the petty pandy's evil at the beginning of every game got old quick. also since there may be some identity crisis issues going on here with crushercral. and none of that is to mention that he's the person above me. *nod*

hopefully i got the glow code correct.

I'll have a comprehensive post tonight, but for now, I'm just checking in from the road. Remember, No Lynch is always an option, and you won't need a majority to lynch. Whoever has the most votes wins. heh

Checking in, considering etc.

Once again DPR appears to have put a twist in mafia that seems positively intriguing.

The goal has been transferred from town facing a time limit (mafia lynches before majority) to the mafia facing more of a deadline (be in a majority position/have that much support by a set date). Essentially provided the town stay alive and gain a read on the candidates we should do well. The issue is of course further complicated by the fact people will be progressively killed off, both by the mafia and by friendly fire.

Logically some kind of cross checking system seems to make sense. Logistically, i'm struggling to see how that would function. Better minds than me are playing if they would like to turn their attention to the problem.

Wow, I think this game is gonna be awesome...I love the concept.

I am gonna hold off a little on my vote because I am trying to weigh all options in my mind.  This setup is a lot different and I don't wanna step wrong before I figure out what is right.

Posted

i was toying with the idea, dae, but every option i see (such as assigned views) is thwarted right away by lll's and untrusting innocents. it'll be easy for confusion based on everyone having an nk and vk and a heal. no predictability beyond many actions going to central parties- essentially meaning a lot will be wasted. count on mafia playing with that in mind. so... with that in mind, does anyone have any ideas to help counter this without this level of trust being the major caveat?
