The Red Ajah calls: Auld Manriva

It is a long standing tradition in the White Tower (as it is in practically all Orgs) that on regular intervals events and activities are being organised for the benefit of the members of the Org. In most cases, these activities include and invite non-members to join in on at least parts of these activities. These activities take a lot of work preparing, coordinating, announcing, promoting and implementing and all of that is usually part of the fun and appeal of them. Literally everyone can get involved and be part of the action. Even non-WT members.

The Red Ajah recognises those that go beyond the call of duty to help out in any way they can, especially when that is done without any expectations in return but merely for the fun of doing so. It may not always be obvious and we don't usually make a big deal out of it, but it is always noticed. And it is always appreciated.

For the last several years, Auld Manriva has been such a person. Whether by choice or by request, Manny has always been more than willing to step forward and help the Red Ajah in the promotional aspects of it's activities. The ol' pirate's forté is creating graphics in the form of signatures, avatars, banners and such more. His willingness to help out, eventhough he's not officially a member of the Org from which the request comes from, has endured over the years and today we honor him and show our gratitude.

On behalf of all the Reds, Manny, thank for the tons of signatures, banners and other graphic items you have created for the Red Ajah throughout the years.

Most recently, he's done douzains of signatures for the latest International Women's Week and all the banners for the RARA Awards. But we haven't forgotten the work he did in the past as well.

And therefore, the Red Ajah wishes to offer you the position of

Red Ajah's Pirate of Graphics!

Now don't worry, this is in no way or form an obligation to join the Org, the position is yours regardless. ;)

*steps up to Manny and gives him a blank look*

Lessee...... *starts picking off bits of molded cheese and chunks of bones from his colar*

Where have you been?  :-\

On second thought, don't answer that.

This pin has been custom made and we hope you'll wear it with pride (and not let it be overgrown by seaweed.... ) ;D

*fastens the PoG pin on his now, almost clean, colar*

To finish up the pair, we've also commissioned a signature to go with it:

Congratulations and thank you!!

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Wow... just .... Wow.

Umm, thank you yer' Red Highness,,, errr.. ladyship. No wait.... not a ship ... I know better'n that.. Your Iconographic Majesty, THAT's the One!

To be serious for just a moment; or as long as I can manage,

Someone seems to know how I love Shiny stuff. Those are really lovely work. If I thought Mysty had time to mess about with them I'd say it was her doing because she does lovely image manipulations herself. So, to whomever she wrangled into doing these... thank you SO Much.

I'm gonna incorporate the pin in some form, into my sigs just as I used to do the BotRH awards I used to wear. I may have to change my name... Red Sash and a Red Graphics Pirate.. If ya'll only knew how apropos that moniker is. What I do is pure and simple image manipulation and the images are not of my own making... SO.. In the immortal words of Cap'n Jack Sparrow ... Ehhhhh, PIRATE?

I do these things for the love of messin' about and I imagine most who do them, do so for the same reason. I don't do the auctions; I never can seem to come up with "template" ideas, so all of my stuff is purely "one off" for the most part. I did some once for Elgee for a Red Picnic that could be used by mulitple folks, I think but other than that I usually do only custom ones. That I've done as many as I have over time and that people actually request them has always amazed me and still does.

Once again... Thank You One And All.

Congrats  :) definitely deserved. Didn't I always tell you your work was good and people liked it? Maybe now you'll start to believe it.  ;)

And nice job on the pin and sig to the maker, they're really lovely work.

Yes Tay m'dear, you most certainly did. I just thought you'uz delusional.

Thanks all of you for "the flowers". Especially the sig makers among you. I'm constantly startled by some of what I see and am inspired to do stuff I'd not thought to do (read PIRATE your ideas unmercifully).

I really have to say Mysty and Tay have helped me SO much over time, what with they being the most difficult to do sigs for. ;D  Seriously, they've never settled for good enough. They've prodded and pushed me over "The Cliff of Great Heights" to produce the image they have in their minds' eye and done work of their own that caused me to struggle to keep up. There was a time I never posted anything that did not first get the Taymist seal of approval.

Two others I should mention, Cads and Odette, who've done some of the most clever sigs I've ever seen have also influenced me greatly. They both do (in Ods case did) art that is So simple and subtle but SO hard to execute.

Again... Thank You .. one and all

AHA!!! see sis, I'm not the ONLY difficult one!! :P

And I agree on Cads and Ods. I still have a siggy from the Band from Ods that I absolutely ADORE. It's brilliant and I'm going to let you all drool over it here:
