True, Wombat, but mine was an epic fail, and Kivam wasn't in the game. I'd never have had the nerve to do it in FRONT of him!

[glow=red,2,300]Unvote[/glow]

Not because I necessarily believe you, but I don't not believe you, either, really. I'm ambivalent, I guess.

Alys, can you summarize (in small words) why we're voting Rey here? My head's still reeling from the marbles and the probabilities and all that....

Her

role

says

there's

a

1/3

chance

he's

scum

Now, hate to bring probabilities back up . . . but that's kind of meaningless right now, because if you assume 5 scum and 2 solos (or 4 and 2) in a 21 person game, then there's about a 1/3 chance that any randomly selected player is scum

I know the length of this is getting insane, but I don't think we should all just jump on someone. This was the whole problem with Kivam. People weren't necessarily suspicious of him they just wanted the day to end. Now one person votes Rey and everyone just goes for it? I didn't think Kivam was scum, so I never voted for him. Everyone then started looking suspiciously at the bandwagoners. Now the cycle is repeating and everyone is just band wagoning again. I'm not at this time thinking Rey is scum. He may have a crappy ability, but that doesn't mean he's scum, so I am not joining that bandwagon either.

I was suspicious of Nae in the first place and originally voted for her, but unvoted to monitor some others for a while. I never stopped being suspicious of Nae, and she has done more to make my suspicions grow since then. It seems a lot of you are suspicious of her too, which is why the new bandwagon just seems foolish.

So I'm voting [glow=red,2,300]Nae[/glow].

I'm not trying to start another bandwagon. That accomplishes nothing. As much as I want this day to end, I'm not going to vote for someone unless I am suspicious of them. So if you are suspicious of Nae too, then by all means vote. If all you care about is ending the day with a quick bandwagon lynch, you are kind of ruining the point of playing and thinking and deciding things, and I think you should try to make educated decisions, instead of just jumping on the lynch train. It may make this incredibly long day longer, but it will make us a lot more likely to lynch scum.

I'm sick of Day and I feel like we are going nowhere. I'd rather not lynch Rey however because he's revealed. FDM and Nae are both at the top of my suspicious lists. We haven't heard from Barm in awhile, lying low?

I've been here and posting, rather a lot more than you. Who's laying low?

Not to mention that it would also seem to imply that there's a 2/3 chance that he's not scum.

So, I just went through and did a read through on the three top candidates (excluding Kivam). That would be Nae, Reyoru and Lavinya, as they are the only current people with multiple votes.

So... here's the notes I made up while doing this (note, they may not make the most sense, as I was keeping the notes for myself, and didn't format them to work better for the game):

Lavinya

- multiple posts saying she's trying

- thats what she said

- more posts saying the same

- Votes Kivam with contradicting logic

- plays the confused role

- Continued to vote for Kivam based on her flawed logic

- Says she'd vote Reyoru if she didn't think he was a jester, keeps her vote on Kivam

- Finally unvotes Kivam after he reveals and votes Rey because he is scummiest "and a lack of any real evidence against anyone"

- posts more posts that make no sense

Summary: Has not contributed to the game (lots of weird logic posts and words in random order), used lots of flawed logic for everything, and seems to go with the popular vote.

Nae

- gets really really defensive over the course of a lot of posts over Rey's random speculation.

- gets defensive against Lily over a single comment.

- gets defensive against Lavinya

- Attacks Far repeatedly, with flawed logic (Far's suspect list vs. those who voted for Kivam)

Summary: Has been very aggressive all game, both defensively and offensively. Has kept up her attacks despite evidence to the contrary multiple times.

Reyoru

- Asks why Kiv thinks Pandy had a role

- Accuses Nae and I of being on a team based on... nothing

- Votes Nae because he is convinced she and I are a team

- Revealed for no reason whatsoever, picked a useless role that is easy to hide behind as mafia

- Accuses Talya of over-reacting and votes her (her post is the one after his reveal)

- Attempts to play the sympathy card (with no luck at all)

Summary: Not really sure what to make of him. Played really well and wasn't suspicious until he decided to reveal at random. At that point his game became really erratic.

Other random notes:

Important question: Where is Tynaal? I think she made 2 posts all game, neither of them useful.

Ed voted me with no explanation, but ignored me when I asked why.

I turned 23 and got one year sexier.

Lia has bandwagoned in nearly every one of her posts (which are few and far between), as well as complained that day won't end... eager to get a night action in?

Pale has contributed next to nothing all game. He has been in and out though.

So, in conclusion to all this, I think that I would like to vote for Lavinya, as she has consistently been beating to her own drum and making about as much sense as an orangutang on extacy. However, Nae is a VERY close second, as she is making small things into a big deal and drawing a lot of attention to herself when it seems like she's trying to shove the attention away. If Nae would be a preferred lynch to Lavinya, I would have no hesitation in switching.

[glow=red,2,300]Vote: Lavinya[/glow]

Let me get this straight.. you DON'T think we should all jump on someone.. but you jumped on me due to alot of people being suspicious of me. (they are in for a suprise if they lynch me thinking me to be mafia)  You then say you aren't trying to bandwagon.. but then you encourage others to vote for me too.  Did I get all that right?

Posted

Let's just say you are half right. ;)

I'm going crazy here with all the pointless suspicions just because I'm aggressive in a game.  Not to mention the fact that you all do NOT read what I post and then question me, quoting the post you didn't pay attention to making me repeat myself over and over.  CRAZY!  ::)

For one I have been suspicious of you all game and originally voted for you and never anyone else.

For two I only said that it seemed strange that you seem to be in everyone else's suspicions, but nobody was voting for you.

Third I said only vote for you if they also suspect you, not just to bandwagon.

So obviously I'm not bandwagoning since I was suspicious of you the whole time and have now just decided to reinstate my vote. I just hate when people vote for someone just to get a lynch. I was looking at others, but you have been most suspicious to me all game. It would take an extreme turn of events to change my opinion that has been reinforced all game.

What you think adding more confusing posts would help on day 1? the main argument most people are using seems to involve metagaming, and alot of you know each other better than i do.

The reason that my vote is staying on Rey is this comment on page 1 from DPR

The three new roles have been created especially for this game.

A finder with a 50/50 of being right just doesn't add up as being a new role created for this game.....savvy

I've bolded the important part of this post, as i'm sure you'll all agree.

First, the [glow=red,2,300]Unvote[/glow].

Next, my suspicions list :- Nae, Barm, Lavinya, Rey, Ed, Pandy. Going by Barm's logic, Nae Lavinya or Rey are up. I've still got the underlying feeling Nae is genuine for the most part, and as such, will not be voting for her tonight.

Which leaves Lavinya or Rey. The vote on Rey has momentum, the role revealed is easily questionable, and overall behaviour has been a little off. I had suspicions preReveal, although those were partially concerned with links to Kivam (and he is tentatively off the hook for now).

So yeah, [glow=red,2,300]Rey[/glow] it is.

Ouch. I'm sure it wasn't your intention Barm (actually what do I know, maybe it was?) but that post was ridiculously insulting. I don't see why me being legitimately confused makes me scum. You don't follow my logic? So I'm not as smart as you, I don't know any of you well enough to read so much between the lines as you are all wont to do. Doesn't make me scum. I could easily be sitting super quiet, barely commenting because then my flawed logic wouldn't show up and I wouldn't be confusing, but who is that going to help? I'm trying to contribute, unfortunately it seems I'm offering nothing of any use save to hang me. Well, all I can say is don't do it, if you love your town! :)

I'm not convinced Rey's scummy. I still think he's too smart to use the same ploy twice. Then again, he could be counting on our thinking just that. I hate WIFOMs (unless I create them...  :D) What I do think is that even if he's legit, that role, as he described it isn't of very much use to the town. I'm going to bed now. I may vote him when I wake. I want to see what pops up while I'm sleeping. Yes, I do dream about mafia games. (Sign #37 of addiction. *sigh*) And I sometimes do my best thinking in my sleep, odd as that is.

6. No editing posts for any reason. Evar.

Ahhh, Talmanes...*shakes head*...you've gone and broken one of the cardinal rules.

You know, one of the saddest moments in the doomed Cannibal Wars game was when I had to modkill Mynd. He didn't even break a set rule, per se, but he's a mod (MJ is his site) and he made comments that he had access to information that other players did not. He was just kidding, but to me, the implication alone was pretty much covered on page 2 of the modkill handbook, I really saw the case as cut and dried. But Mynd felt very differently and the game began to focus onthe modkill insted of the game. We lost a glorious head of steam on MJ after that, and never climbed out from under the shadow.

Which is why I hate to modkill...*drags a stone down the curved blade of the executioner's axe*

But, rules are rules, edits are edits, and once again, I am left with little choice...*raises axe up high...and brings it down hard*.

Talmanes, [glow=black,2,300]the happy little clown who was playing quite well[/glow] and could [glow=black,2,300]call unicorns with his magic flute...I can't believe you looked[/glow]...is dead.

Play on.

Apologies for coming across as insulting, but the confused act is actually a legit tactic that I have seen employed by scum rather successfully many times before. Innocent players rarely, if ever, talk about how confused they are. No offense intended, I'm just playing the game.

He's right, it's not personal. It's a game. People on this board tend to play a bit more aggressively than elsewhere.

Moving on,

It seems more likely to me that Rey is leaving something out of his role. Either a post restriction, or some sort of way to activate a better ability. I still don't think he is our best lynching candidate. Again, can you give us any more information, Alys?

Any chance of getting Talmanes' actual role, Wes?

Oh, and my opinion of who is most scummy is the one who gets overly defensive without much provocation.  I'm not seeing enough for Lavinya, and neither am I for Rey.

That leaves [glow=red,2,300]Nae[/glow].  :-*
