Does anyone think Rand will be the Buffer between the OP and the TP with huge Circles of Sardar and Sardin using there powers to re-imprison the DO?

Sorry if this has been brought up else where :o.

Not myself, I think Fain will be the thing that touches the Dark One (with his Shadar Logoth power, which can make weaves, Rand encountered it in TGH) and then Rand will use Callandor to create a Void in the Pattern. Maybe he uses Callandor, which might allow Ta'veren to link???

Why do the Aiel not use chairs?

It's a tradition born from the fact that there are very few trees in the Waste.  They don't have wood to really waste for furniture.  The only chair they would traditionally have is one for the Chief of a clan to sit in when he's passing judgement.

I totally think that the next time we see Lan, he is not only going to be surrounded by a huge army, but he will also be surrounded by a whole gaggle of old, grey-haired, stern-faced, Malkieri Aes Sedai who are totally ready to kick ass and take names.

Aha that image cracked me up and I hope it comes true.

RJ said they were symbols of office. The term was used when someone was talking about those people that had the title. So LTT had a lot of influence among the mighty.

DragonCon 4 September 2005 - Emma reporting

Question Part 2: Well are they positions of power? Were they people, or were they actual rods?

Jordan: They were actual people, and they were, but you might call them regional governors of the earth, regional governors of the planet. So if I say, summon them, then we've got a guy who has been given in effect ultimate power.

People have speculated that Aviendha becomes (became?) a Wise One when SHE decides that her apprenticeship is over.

I wondered, though, because if I recall correctly a Wise One has to enter Rhuidien two times; once to go through the rings and another time to do something else (revisit the history of the Aiel as Rand did?).  Is the second visit moot now that Rand revealed that information, or is the experience of living her ancestors still important to her gaining the title Wise One?

if i'm not mistaken Taim is a Darkfriend, and is under the protection of the Dark One when it comes to channeling saidin.

question:  Galad is a Damodred.  Does this make him Moiraine's nephew or cousin or something?  And does that give Moiraine a relation to Rand, or simply by marriage through Tigraine?  (meaning...Tigraine marrying a Damodred, then having Rand, does that give Rand a relation to Moiraine at all?)

Moiraine is Taringails half sister. Taringail is Galads father, which makes Moiraine his aunt. Other than Galad, Rand is not related to the Damodreds in any (known) way.

Where was Logain during this book?

Unknown, but I would guess the Black Tower, or rallying support to assault Taim anyway.

Didn't Rand send quite a few Ashaman to the southern areas of Arad Doman in preparation for an invasion, should the Seanchan refuse his offer (I think we hear about that when Cadsuane asks Rand regarding his plans in News for The Dragon, KoD)?

Each Wiseone must enter Rhuiden Twice first at the completion of her apprenticeship  and one other time not sure when. Aviendha was escorted to the traveling ground by Amys and given instruction on what she must do.

She enters the Ringed ter'angreal the first ime for her apprenticeship, and then once her training is over when she deems it over, she must go to Rhuidean a second time for the remembrance of what was. This second time is important because of what the Jenn Aiel said to those equivalent to modern Aiel. Only those who go to Rhuidean to face their ancestry and survive can lead the Aiel.

Does Lanfear use some sort of charm/ weave to make men, well, lose their wits around her? (I'm thinking when Rand, Hurin, and Loial meet 'Selene' in TGH.) Or is it just that she really IS that beautiful?

Min, Eg and Nyn (all of whom are straight) think Lanfear's the last word in hotness as well.

If she uses a charm it's not gender-specific.

Question:  Do we know when Graendal was in the Tower and/or what she did there?

I was rereading and somewhere in aCoS Alviarin thinks on having met 3 of the Forsaken - Lanfear, Graendal and Mesaana.

Graendal's PoV (when she's talking about tracking Messi) mentions setting up a spy network in the WT. That was probably what she was doing and maybe also looking for angreal, etc. No direct proof though.
