*head is swimming*  Too much random speculation over EVERYTHING!

hopefully we will know more after the night actions are sent in.

But, isn't he claiming to be the Finder?

If there is only one, how could we confirm this?

he's claiming to be a day finder ...  i've never played a game with a day finder but another play had suggested that in a game this size their might be two finders.

or it could be Rey's role is similar to the Scholar in Petes game over in SG.  where he is told the allignment of the person he posts after.

there are a few ways to confirm it, depending on how many finders we have.  if there is a 2nd finder, the easiest way is for that person to veiw Rey to see if he's lieing.

a 2nd way is if he gets nk'd (night killed) or if we lynch him.  having it revealed in his death post

3rd is a tracker.  normally there are trackers that are allowed to perform a night action, in which the choose 1 person to see if they are performing a night action.  if so, then the tracker is told what the night action is.  in this case, becuase the finding action is performed during the day, i dont think the night tracker would be of any use

but!!!  if we have a day finder, we might also have a day tracker.  and in this case, the day tracker would be of great use to find out if Rey is tellign the truth

i'm just listing the possible options to get them out there people.  sorry if i'm posting too much speculations.  but at this point, thats all we can do  :-[

OMG...

now my head is spinning...lol

I don't want to end up lynching him if he is innocent...

he has provided nothing so far to support his Finder claim, but neither has he acted scummy.

So many possibilities....guess we'll just have to go along and find out as we do.

That particular gambit is called the Kivam gambit, and I was one of the ones to try it. It didn't work, but it sure was fun! lol Other plots and ploys can be called gambits, too, so we have to watch our wording, I think, with a crowd this size.

As for Rey, he was right about Boopsy, and that cuts him some slack in my book. I've watched him since he started playing, and he is really getting very good very fast. This doesn't mean I'm going to make the mistake of seeing him as "confirmed" innocent. But he is lower on my suspect list than some others. For now. After all, he did find us a mafioso, right?

I think somebody suggested Boopsy and Rey, but I don't really see where their behavior was out of the ordinary, which means absolutely nothing, of course. The reason my Kivam gambit failed was that we were too obvious....lol. But then, we're both "in your face" people, and anything else would have looked odd.

Okay, enough metagaming for me. Personally, I find it helpful, but others don't.

Metagaming is taking someone's playstyle and actions from other games or a specific game to determine their innocence in the current game.  Like, Lily... you acted JUST like that in care bears mafia when you were scum!!!  You must be mafia in this game too!!

It is a flawed game tactic because some, like Pete, ALWAYS manage to look guilty and some are consistant in their playstle.  My playstle is generally the same but I also adapt according to how the game is flowing, who is in it, what I can play off of, etc...

I'm one who hates it when people are dead set that someone is without a doubt mafia just because of similarities to another game.  Not 100 percent against metagaming.. as long as it's used correctly.  Each game is different and if you take the game and learn from it you can use what you learned as mafia while you are innocent and vice versa.

I am trying to tone down on my in your faceness I guess you would call it. And thanks Nae for explaining that.

I am against metagaming. I try and play the same wether I am vanilla, roled, or scum. And I succeed as always looking guilty. Lol.

But anyways metagaming has never won a game or lost it so pick your poison and take your side.

Metagaming is fine.  Not taking past events into account would be illogical.  After all, a lot of the scum tells we take for granted are just metagaming applied to vast numbers of players over vast numbers of games.  Even those assumptions can be wrong though.  You have to keep in mind that people will tailor their behavior to prevent you from getting a read or to induce a false read.  You can never be 100% sure of any analysis in a game as rife with uncertainty as mafia.

I think i ranted about that in a game once...

If you start a lynch, you must be mafia.

If you are third fourth or fifth on a lynch you must be mafia

If you are one of the last few on a vote you must be mafia

Second is the best place to be? Lol

If you don't talk much you are scum trying to lay low to avoid suspicion

If you talk alot you are either spamming to confuse people or overly helpful to confuse people... because you are mafia.

If you bandwagon you are mafia... but if we don't all agree on a vote we get a random lynch.

If you don't vote with the majority you are scum refusing to vote a fellow scummate.

If they end up innocent you refused to vote them to make yourself look innocent.

Conclusion?  EVERYONE IS MAFIA!!!!

Aww I died.

*gives loving to everyone especailly Rey before trudging off to Deadland with Jade and the others*

*Gives love back to Boopsy* =)

And for those of you who are wondering, its no gambit - we had a rather fierce argument earlier and its just a game  ;)
