I like Bela. I find it great that we have all these descriptions of such 'well-bred', prestigious, highly trained warhorses and such that keep having to be replaced by the characters who ride them, but shaggy little nondescript cart horse Bela has made it through everything. Now that's a horse! She reminds me of my own horse that I lost to a sudden illness last week. She was little, plain, and doesn't seem like much, but she took care of her people and worked hard.

I think Bela is symbolic of the Two Rivers people as a whole. No one gives them much credit as anything other than backwards country rednecks with no education, but they (and one of their horses) are showing that they are more. However, I don't think she was ever meant as anything more than a 'cute', nostalgic reappearing character to remind us of the way things used to be. Sort of along the lines of Bill the Pony.

Yeah, she'll be there till the end. The last PoV will be hers.

How chaotic the Last Battle had been. Flashing images darted through Belas mind, visions of the dead, the dying, and unrecognizable remains covering the earth. Those unfortunate enough to retain consciousness opened their mouths, yet still nothing could be heard other than the calamities brought about by the One Power. The Last Battle was over, and the sacrifice of Al'Thor, their supposed salvation, had certainly taken its price. Yet even though the Great Lord was banished from the world once more, all was not lost. There was still the Neigh'blis. There was still something salvageable among the rubble that had once been the Shadows empire. All was not lost, and with each ending came a new beginning, a new opportunity. And now was Bela's time; the only other candidate for the title of Neigh'blis, Pips, was bound within the Great Lords new prison. With an inward chortle, Bela reached out to the Great Lord and drew on the True Power. It seemed different now, as if it was being drawn from an unimaginable distance, although it had been proved that distance, whether space or time, did not affect its use. She drew further, until the sa'a billowed across her vision. With one last thought, of revenge for her half-son Narg, she tore a hole through the Pattern, and once again traveled through Time.

Awesome. It ties everything together so well. Poor Narg.

bela is always there for you, bela truly cares. she will be there in your hour of need, always ready to spirit you to safety or just to nuzzle you if your feeling blue. if there is any justice bela will be the first horse to join the legendary heroes spun out of the wheel over and over.(or maybe she already is!?)

Someone should really lock this thread like the damned Asmodean threads.

This thread has become silly.

They already lock Asmodean threads besides the one in the Structured section.  Not sure if they would lock that one.

Are you joking or do you really think this would be in the books?

If the later, none of the scenes with her indicate that she could do those things.

"half-son", that term does not make sense; either a child is full-blood or not blood at all, there are no in-betweens.

The official Asmo-thread might get locked once we get confirmation by the books that Graendal did it. If we do lock it, we will most likely open a new one, with a slightly different angle.

As soon as I read confirmation, I'm gonna speed to that thread and put "NANANANANANA! WE WERE RIGHT! NANANANANANANA! TAKE THAT GOLDENK!"

I will make sure to laugh at all of you when it turns out that Thom has been Asmodean in disguise all this time(think about it.....both harp players....). Moiraine actually faked her own death so she could run off somewhere and have Thom/Asmodean's babies(yes, that's right, that was her at the door) and both thier deaths will be revealed as shams in the next book when they storm the ToG, tell the snakes to give them back the Aes Sedai, and they're all like, "Who?".

Oh, and Asmo is Nae'blis....and a ninja.

Awesome. It ties everything together so well. Poor Narg.

Actually, though even Bela may be unaware, Narg lives.  He was only pretending to be dead because...

Narg Smart!

So what has he been doing this whole time? Taking over Shara in the absence of the king and queen?

Poor Bela, she'll never find out that her son lives.
