You have received an invitation to the gathering of the century. The eleventh century, to be exact. The King has invited all of his courtesans to celebrate the conquest of a very strategic piece of land, and his daughter’s coming of age. Unfortunately, the Baron who had possession of those lands was left with a bad taste in his mouth, that no amount of mead could quench. So he came upon the idea that he would send his best assassins forward, to this feast, in the hopes that many of the King’s important people would meet the wrong side of a dagger. He sends his son, Sir Hobart, to head this very important venture.

Alas, poor Hobart is in turmoil, for he has been secretly meeting the lovely Princess Gertrude. They have already professed their love for each other, and had plans to run away together. She knows of his scheme, but not of the men he has with him. While she does not like what he is doing, she would never do anything that would bring her beloved to any harm. Indeed, she is certain there is no way she could live without her man!

Amidst all this scheming and planning, there is yet a third party out for his own needs. The entertainment this evening, is actually a bit insane. He knows about the romance, he knows about the infiltration, and he couldn’t give a fig. The Jester has his own agenda...

Game details:

The Jester is a neutral character. If the Jester is lynched, the evil team wins. If the Jester is nightkilled, the innocent team wins. But most of all, the Jester wins. The Jester’s primary objective is to be killed, whichever way possible. It does not care if good or evil wins, only that it wins. The Jester is immune to any Finder role (i.e they will turn out innocent). The Jester will have some sort of post restriction on activity (meaning they will not be able to sit quietly throughout the entire game and not interact). I mean to make it challenging, not impossible.

Important: If the Jester is killed in any way, the game is over. He, and the team that did not kill him will gain an instant win. You must be cautious with kills, while under a time limit. It will (hopefully) be a serious challenge.

This game will be a mixture of roles and post restrictions. Not all roles will have post restrictions, and there will be some characters who are completely roleless/restrictionless. Some people I imagine will even make something up.

Your goal: To eliminate the assassins, while identifying the Jester and keeping them from winning. For a quick game though, you could always kill off the Jester (if you have them figured out) so the other team wins. ;)

So now that I've terrified you out of playing, I will also mention that the Seer will have the ability to learn alignment and role/post restriction (or both, or none--if they are roleless), for all of the other players, excepting the Jester.

The days and nights will have time limits. As I do not post often on the weekends, those days/nights will always run longer. It will be a faster paced game (I hope!).

Anyone is welcome to play, though I do not recommend this game to anyone who has not played at least one Mafia game at DM. Some of the roles are unique to this game, and passed out at random. But I certainly won't deny anyone from playing. :)

I'd like a hefty amount of people for this if possible, so sign ups will run until I get tired of waiting.
