Who would you hate to be?

Out of all the people in the WOT, who do you think it the person it would of been the worst to be.

For me it would have to be Jaichim Carridin:

The man was basically set up to fail.  You are told by your boss to go to one place to spread chaos. Then given orders by Ishy.  The ordered to kill Rand by someone else, which is going be nearly impossible for him to do. You are told a member of you family will be killed and that a fade has already killed one of your sister.  Then the BA show up and demand you do what they say, preventing you from doing your other orders.  Only to have your boss then send you to Ebou Dar to cause more mischief so after you get there Sammuael shows up to take control of you. demanding you find objects of power.  So you become a drunk and ended up being murdered by booze drowning.  In the companion it says he was constantly being given conflicting orders by different forsaken on whom to kill and whom not to kill.  So just seems like it would of really of sucked to of been this guy, because no matter what he did he was screwed.

The joys of going to the darkness.

I'd hate to be Logain.  That guy went through hell and back.  It all works out in the end but still, to have one of the women he bonds to be forced to the shadow right in front of him after seeing some of his followers have the same thing happen.  To be stilled, used, forced to lie, the list goes on and on.  Logain's life sucked pretty bad.

I would hate to be a Damane, basically a slave after living most your life as pseudo-nobility.  Or honestly, a darkfriend. I feel like once you've become one you're at the dark lords beck and call, and he can mess you up on a whim. Could you imagine becoming a darkfriend as a stupid teenage mistake? Then growing up and realizing the fool you've been?

I'd hate to be Morgase, able to channel but so weak that all I'm able to do is since other women channel and see their flows...and any attempt to use an angreal would probably burn her out. At least she still gets the long life though (around 150 years)

A proper Angreal with the safety on it (preventing drawing too much) will amplify the channeler's natural abilities, not burn them out.  It is simply a multiplier.  The stronger the channeler was, the stronger the creation means that an Angreal would multiply probably up to 3-4 times a channeler's natural ability.  Anything more would probably be sa'angeal strength between 5-10x.  Moiraine can barely channel now, but is close to her old strength with her new angreal that is "almost powerful enough to be a sa'angreal."

Remember though that even with a buffer, some sa'angreal apparently are just too powerful...even when she can embrace the Source, she can hardly ever manage to weave anything...if she ever got her hands on an angreal she'd probably burn herself out because she wouldn't want to know with the extra Power. Even Sorilea seemed to be a skilled Weaver even though she's very weak in the Power...

You are describing an ability to handle the weaves.  Her hardest problem was finding the source, and once she did it was the tiniest, thinnest trickle, barely enough to make a handkerchief wave back and forth.  Like the smallest ability known that I can remember, less even than Androl.  I'd rate him strong compared to her.  She wove for over an hour to wave that handkerchief which was exhausting to her.  I get what you are saying, but she was able to handle the weave despite not learning a "handkerchief waving weave" in the tower.  She created one on the spot which is impressive.  The OP is not the force, you cant just manipulate an object, you have to create a weave that will have an effect, and maintain the weave.  An angreal would only multiply what she could draw.  So say, if she had the talent to split her weaves, she could wave three, maybe four handkerchiefs.  Now add a multiplier in on Nynaeve or Rand holy cow that's taking one of your strongest channelers and making them three or more times their natural strength (some are weak angreal barely a 1.5, others are super powerful, it was all based off the man/woman's strength who used the seed to harness their power which reduced them for months.)  So that is what the buffer is for.  Some flawed angreal and Sa'angreal were still able to be used, to a point.  Otherwise one draw on an angreal past a channeler's natural ability and they'd burn themselves out.  What the buffer did is stop any draw beyond what it was meant for.  Those without a buffer can have people pull and pull through it well beyond its capability, think LTT killing himself.  Complete overload.  So as long as the channeler is aware to not overdraw even flawed angreal are able to be used, and were through the series, just carefully.  Callandor was one.

Yes, but there are instances of people burning themselves out without overdrawing their natural ability, such as Annoura Sedai burning herself in AMoL when she wove a gateway to get herself and Galad away from the battlefield. She was powerful enough to form gateways, but she was too tired to handle the flows properly. Its spoken on several times that you can burn yourself out if you try to weave when very tired...not a matter OP strength but being able to handle what you draw, and since the weaving itself is difficult (50 tries to embrace the Source, 20 more to weave something). I doubt giving her more strength would be an immediate fix. Look what Egwene was able to do while dosed with forkroot.

Annoura overdrew because she was tired, so at that point her natural limits were lower than normal.

If Morgasw gained an angreal she wouldn't be able to overdraw because the buffer prevents that (in most cases) but she doesn't have the experience to successfully create weaves. I would think it's possible that a failed weave could (very occasionally) result in the weaver being burned out (failed weaves are unpredictable), but don't think her first weave would be one that did that. Eg may have been almost as weak as Morgase when she was dosed, but she learned the weaves when she was stronger. Without that experience she wouldn't have done nearly as well

I don't think I'd want to be any of the main characters in the story, and probably not many of the named characters at all :p

I like a peaceful life

Well to be honest most the unnamed characters didn't seem to have great lives either.  Having to worry about Trollocs, aiel, nobles, DO screwing with the weather, starvation, Seanchean invading, bandits, the prophet, False Dragons starting wars, etc.. life was pretty hard on the average Joe.

Yea, I agree, life was hard for everyone, it doesn't put it into massive amounts of detail, but by the end of the book people are dying left right and center. The whole worlds starving and most of the borderlands along with Caemlyn is completely destroyed. However it appears the Seanchan territory has fared the best of everywhere, have no idea where they found the food though.
