Yo, you should all sign up for Caesar Mafia at SG, right here.

Sorry for the shameless plug, been the slowest sign ups I've ever seen.

Now how are you all doing? Are the Shadow still ruling supreme around here?

Sorry, can´t play big games anymore.

Of course the Shadow is ruling!

The Light is ruling supreme. Panchi is the SG leader and Talmanes and me, both Light, are probably the two most active members around.

Also, the mafia game around here is filling up just as slowly.

Go Light!

You just gotta advertise! I got my game filled pretty quickly, I was quite surprised.

I'm bad at that lol.

I'm pretty sure I advertised in GD.

Two games at a time has been the norm for a while here. We had four sign-ups pop up at once and all of a sudden we could only fill one game, because everyone was too spread out. /shrug I think both SG games will fill pretty quickly now though.

It was not a mafia game. Some people are more willing to sign up for non mafia games

To be fair, the difference is that Brownie Quest can be done with some 20 minutes per day, while mafia can't.

Well I did advertise it as less of a time commitment. I was hoping for a little more posting but there's been a fair amount. I purposely opened Round 5 early to let everyone post a bit before needing a decision.

People who enjoy mafia but can't keep up with the usual volume could always play a lower content game together.

I'd be more than willing to mod it.

I mean we've knocked around a lot of ideas about how to make games more accessible to people with time restraints, but at the end of the day it's all just a matter of who signs up.

I am willing to sign up for games which don't require the effort of mafia games. Hunger games are fun. You don't have to do anything much and it all proceeds fast.

I've had the idea for a while now to run low key mafia games that don't impose the sort of effort expectation of what we're used to here.  I played in one off-site a month ago where the entire game was only about 300 posts, and I had a lot of fun being able to just pop in for 15 minutes a day without getting too invested in it.  It's sort of like a turbo (a game that's run start to finish in about an hour) in slow motion.  Find enough interested parties and I'll make it happen--I'd probably start with something fairly role-less, but if people want a bunch of wacky power roles that are impossible to balance but give everyone a fun and unpredictable night ability, that can certainly be done too.

To be fair, I dont think it can happen at Dragonmount, because everyone's so used to making long cases and having an opinion (and giving it) about everything, that it'll become like that anyways, except if you add a post restriction for everyone, which I don't think will work either (because then you'll get people who can't give their full thoughts).

I doubt there would be any issue. We all know who the players are who'll post 500+ times in a game. (I'm one of them.) For these particular games, they either can't sign up or will face a very heavy post restriction. Problem solved, and the dozen or so people who constantly talk about how they wish they could play but they can't keep up with the volume levels these days, well, they can play now!

+1 to this idea

    • Isam is the hunter hence why Perrin mostly sees slayer is Isam form.  I think Slayer thought something like Isam mostly thinks about hunting so Luc is more of the having to deal with people form.
    • Am I missing something here?   She wanted to hide Rand but the idea seems stupid.   I mean how long was she going to keep him there for? Wouldn’t the guard (Changu) have asked why he was there after what I would assume to be a long time to avoid the Amyrlin Seat?
    • Even more was stuffed through his pockets.
    • Yes, we meet every other Thursday.  The first half of the meeting is devoted to three speeches and onstage evaluations.  We all evaluate each speech on paper right after it--where you did well and where you can improve.  Then we have three on-stage evaluations.  Then, the second half is Table Topics, where a "Table Topics Master" onstage gives out random questions and if you're called up you're supposed to give a one to two minute speech about it.  Then a Table Topics evaluator comes up and talks about each speech.  My questions this time were all very specific fairy tales Thursday because of Valentines and because no one answering was a beginner.  My questions would have been much softer had I been asking inexperienced beginners.  But it was talking mirrors and Alexa, fairy godmothers and handbags, glass slippers and Facebook profiles, and more.  It can be very weird what you can think of up there once you aren't scared anymore.

I joined the club January 2015 and it's one of my favorite things ever now.  Everything is fun once you aren't frozen--giving a good prepared speech, giving an answer that you think of while you're talking, always improving.  You find yourself talking about things that come up out of nowhere.  And it can be highly entertaining what you think of.
