Favorite Battle?

I liked that one because it was planned. Sometimes Jordan pushes ta'veren luck out to the very edge of Deus ex Machina (I'm thinking Taim's arrival at Dumai's Wells, and the Band skipping along into northern Altara with *holy crap semi-auto crossbows* here).

For the same reason I liked the invasion of Illian. Yeah, Rand got some help, but he went after Sammael, and he got him.

Its the last Chapter of Winters Heart Abaddon.

I note that nobody seems to like the Battle for Carhien all that much. I think the parts that were best done in that one were Mat.

I liked all of the battles, and its tough to say that I have a favourite... I suppose it can go to the battle of Shadar Logoth though... I've definately picked up that book more than once and JUST read that chapter, then gone back to reading whatever else it was that I was reading.

you mean that one of the battles is supposed to be our favorite!?

My top three, in no particular order are.

-Shadar Logoth, cleansing of Saidin.

-Perrins battle in the Two Rivers

-the trolloc attack on the estate in Tear in KoD. I just think it is so cool when LTT takes over and then uses all these forgotten weaves to blow the crap out of a lot of fades and trollocs and then almost kills Rand! really cool! 8)

I'm gonna have to go with Galad's duel at the start of KoD. I've always been a big fan of those 1 v 1 battles.

same. as much as I liked the other battles, this is my favorite. Rand vs Turak is a close second.

the Battle of Cairhien is good, but I'd like it more if the duel between Couladin and Mat was described as it happened instead of reminisced.

the only battle I don't particularly care for is the duel between Rahvin and Rand. it starts out really dramatic but I lost interest in between the shifts between Rand and Nynaeve. it wasn't until the fish trap that I started paying attention again.

Yeah that was very cool, just out of curiosity what book was it when, rand entered the dream world in his flesh and lews therin tried to take over his body and change his looks?

Nobody has said the Battle of Two Rivers yet' date=' I guess that really isn't that surprising.

The battle that had me most on edge was Dumai Wells. For me it was very intense, heart pounding. My jaw dropped to the floor when the Aes Sedai knelt and swore fealty to the Dragon.

Wow....[/quote']

The Two Rivers Battle is also one of my favorites. It is kind of emotional with the whole "back up against the wall" thing. Kind of like Helm's Deep in LoTR.

That's kind of how I felt about the Battle of Two Rivers. I just figured that most readers are so fed up with Faile and Perrin that it wouldn't be as popular as other battles.

My favorite was Dumai's Wells. In part because of the lead up for it. "They have caged shadow killer ..." One of the few times where I liked Perrin.

Shadar Logoth was alright, but I htought the forsaken were just acting stupid . . . they didn't seem to do much from the PoV's we saw. Mostly running and complaining.

Two Rivers was good. Very back against the wall, and those freaking whitecloaks abandoning them like that ... very well done.

I also kind of liked the battle in the Stone of Tear, where Rand got to test out Callandor.

Yup, lots of good battles.
