I think the lists are a good idea in this game. We need to have a good collective memory so that when day comes, we're ready to start stringing up suspects, and know good options to switch to should that be necessary.

I don't mean this meanly, but it isn't a very good list.  The reason is that you have people like GF (who was influential and adamant about the DPR lynch) in your leaning mafia category and people like WBK (who avoided DPR like the plague) in your light town list.  Furthermore, two of your three big scum leads are people who were on both DPR lynches and have not done much this game to warrant attention in either direction.

 

It isn't for me to say whether or not your reads are false or unwarranted, I just don't understand the reasoning behind it.  Would you mind explaining?  Have you read the thread carefully?

Main suspects from memory: Tiinker and Verbal, possible Yates. I don´t believe that Yates wouldn´t look up what a symp is even if he had never played with one before. 

 

Have to read through the thread to see what I think about all players. Doubt someone will look more scummy than Tiinker though.

Oh, offsite meta now?  LOL.  I didn't question it because I didn't understand what he was saying so I just ignored it.  How would I know that's a reference to a role used on other sites and not another of his silly insult words?  *shrug*  Take a look at the rest of EP's posts in that game.  I believe my exact words were that he posted like "a kid with ADHD powered by Red Bull and Pixie Stix."  Translation: I did a lot of face palming and ignoring of incomprehensible statements - like THAT one.  Hell, I even quoted that post as an example of him just posting like a jerk [post 553].  Go down and read the spoilered sections.  Good reading.  Includes things like "I completely agree with Yates that your posts have been :meandering: at best and usually I skim them because they're so long and it's difficult to get your 1 or 2 main points from the long stream of consciousness that you're sometimes using to post."

 

Point being, I can't *prove* I didn't know what a "symp" was.  But - I didn't know what a symp was.  Not really sure why that's relevant to your abilities to effectively scum hunt but I guess it makes for a fun tangent, right?

I'm just saying I found many references to people being Symps or Sympathizers with a short google search. So it seems odd that someone playing for at least 2 years probably a lot longer hadn't heard of it before. That's all I'm saying. But I will concede and won't hold it against you.

A claim on it's own shouldn't really save someone imo.

- Obviously.  There are certain claims that are vettable, though, and that can be tested early on in games.  This is a huge game and we were only on Day 2.  This, of course, is theory we can talk about after the game is over.

 

Uhm... Scum would be upset because they lost a team member, someone who got themselves modkilled. I know I'd be upset if I was her teammate.

- You guys are going back and forth on this symp stuff.  Did Mish know about scum and/or did scum know about Mish or not?  If a Symp is like a Traitor role, I don't think scum would be all that bothered since Traitors aren't known to scum and can't communicate with scum.  So really, they aren't "teammates."  What am I missing here?

 

Nope, luck had nothing to do with it. DPR was dropping pretty much all of the classic scum tells. OMGUS, whymefryme, overly defensive, convenient claim, using emo to discredit his attackers, etc.

- Meh.  Easy to say in retrospect [evidence to fit the flip].  I don't consider myself all that gullible, but I was pretty sold despite not trusting him.  That said, any reasonable mod confirmed evidence to the contrary and I would have been holding hands with Darthe as we skipped our way to the DPR lynch singing "Bye Bye this here DPR guy..."

The main issue is that a symp IS mafia. They are part of the mafia team, but the mafia don't know about them and can't communicate with them under normal circumstances. So if the mafia team were all dead EXCEPT the Symp, the entire mafia team can still win even if they think they have lost already. So it is like losing a member of your team, just one you didn't know about.
