Most townie votes should be justified. I'm merely objecting to the belief that a vote with no explanation should be seen as scummier than a vote with an obviously contrived explanation.

And Tink you didnt answer my question. To be completely honest, you were the least scummy of those i listed. (Those being Tink, Player, Notbob, Kaylee) I had a word on Bob and Kaylee, but between Player and you, I found Player scummier but still neither that scummy really at all... YET, I voted you as a third vote because i figured it would garner more attention. is that satisfactory explanation? I feel youre rather defensive though..

Anyway, back to business.  This exchange between Tiink and Wombat has me interested.  I think that all votes are placed for a reason.  I firmly believe that someone intends something behind their vote, otherwise they wouldn't place it.  That's why I don't believe in joke votes.  Now, what that reason is, that's a whole different game.

 

I'm liking responses so far from Wombat.  I've got pings from AJ and Not Bob right now - Not Bob for his vote situation when he came in and fixed his vote, only to change it immediately afterward, and AJ for her responses to Tiink.  As for Tiink, I'm not getting a read either way yet.  I agree with AJ in that he appears defensive, but I'm also agreeing with some of what he's saying - he got the discussion going with the talk of jokes or not jokes in voting.

I had four assignments for my Systems Analysis & Design Methods class which were due yesterday. Therefore, I had to focus my limited computer time to those assignments. My next two assignments are not due until Sunday. Therefore, I now have enough free time to be here with y'all on DM."

 

As everyone has seen, there has been a lot of discussion about joke votes, and voting in general. I am getting a scummy reading from Tiinker right now. To me, he appears to be a little over defensive. I am also getting a scummy feel with my scumdar on NotBob.

I can see that. Someone was lynched in a previous game, I think it was Tina, for formating and she turned out to be town. Not saying that's a case, but that shouldn't be the sole reason for a vote.

alanna's tactic of making it 3-1-1-1-1-1 as opposed to 2-2-1-1-1-1 did wonders to get this game started. However, if Tiinker gets lynched and turns out town, we know who's first to look at.

 

The discussion about joke votes having to be taken into account cannot be taken in general, and depends on who's playing, and 'knowing' how they play. It's been too long since I last played (and about half of you I never even played with), so I cannot deduct anything from that.

Still not liking Kaylee. Most of the other stuff seems meh, Tink got defensive but I'm not a fan of the "defensive=scummy" thing, the vast majority of mafiosos won't get defensive early on as they know the chances of a lynch being led on them day 1 by one person is extremely small.

Another example of Kaylee trying to play too careful. Why add the last bit? I think the formatting thing is bunk in this example, and why would he copy something so inane from a QT? I thought the formatting thing was brought up in jest, if people are actually serious about it then they're prob scum. Anyways, Kaylee trying to mince her words too carefully still pings to me.
