Moon generally starts off swinging without very many joke/spam posts.  She is very to the point with her observations.  That's what I was saying as normal.  And my joke vote was completely random, I was just pointing out that she isn't scummy right now.  My joke vote has no indication of who I think is scummy, hence it being called a joke vote.

Yeah, but if they learn from the QT the only thing they remember how to do is be scum.

I think Len makes a good point. I was scum my first game. I was lost my second game as town because there was nobody to help me out. It would have been helpful to have someone point out what I was doing that was suspicous. I think it wasn't unitl my 3rd game that I began to catch on and modify.

Not assuming she's scum. Just saying that learning in a QT has it's disadvantages. If you read my post it says I agree with Len about his idea on the matter...not about anyone being scum.

This isn't really the place to be arguing about how to educate new players, unless you're trying to defend your approach to newbies in general and to Hallia in this game specifically. 

 

Darthe, I don't have a counterclaim to Cloud. Double voters aren't that common, though, so we shouldn't necessarily expect somebody to counter them if it's a fakeclaim; also, mafia double voters aren't unheard of. The fact that you immediately jumped to thinking that he's town is very interesting indeed.

So I have a question. Since Cloud has already revealed his role should we not also get him to reveal his character? That way we can test his character against others to see if it truly is a fake claim. ((Which I doubt it is)).

cloud's reveal is majorly suspect and not necessarily a town thing. 

He *could* be a double voter as town. This is completely plausable. 

 

Or, maybe the mafia got a double voter to compensate for overpowered town or under numbered mafia. 

 

However, even if he is town, then Cloud has done something risky. He made himself a mafia target. They might want to control his vote, or kill him so he can't double vote against them. 

 

As far as my limited posting, I’ve just started modding my first mafia game in Thak. And that has taken up a little bit of time. Plus, as Rand has pointed out, I’m often very silly on day one. Because it is very hard to get a read on some people during day one.

 

I am going to Unvote for now and vote when I've had a chance to decide who I think the real mafias are.

Perhaps your reputation is somewhat unwarranted but you strike me as a better player and better thinker than this.  The idea is that we get initial leads, both in who we find to be consistently scummy (the host of implications behind that word) and by transit we must find those that aren't.  To me the useless claim and way that Cloud handled it is enough to leave cloud alone for D1.. as most people have remarked.  So why are you focusing here?

 

Also Rand, Shitz and gigglez mostly but also because the reasoning was almost weak enough to be a joke vote.  I legit couldn't decide.

Anyway, Everyday playing mafia is a school day...you are always learning even if you have been playing a long time...haha.

 

I hardly know anyone here so it's going to be hard.

 

Cloud claim: My views on this, most probably town, sooner or later we were going to question the anonymous vote, and if it came after cloud all the time it wouldn't take rocket science to work it out. If he is town he makes easy target for the mafia, so maybe not claiming would have been a better idea, keep everyone guessing until you had to say. There is a chance he is mafia, but not a good way to focus all attention on yourself on day one, because we can now check his voting and see how he uses it, if he hammers quickly on a townie, might be worth looking in to again. For now I think town.
